Let's see, the trailer story goes like this: one federation member and his people was dissatisfied with the way the Galactic Union was working out, so he left it and formed a hegemony with another state. He then unleashed his fleets on his former allies to force them into his hegemony.
1231Skyguy seems like it was the other way around, Blue guy’s country was being exploited by a powerful hegemony, so he banded together with the frogs and humans to form an Galactic Union stronger than the hegemony.
"When the choice is to sign, or to starve, there is no choice" So true... but I'm curious to know what happened for these guys being un such a situation at first.
It was probably a hegemonic federation or a militaristic one. It's implied that the federation members had a history of warring amongst themselves, and the blue aliens were probably made into a scapegoat or got the short straw in the resolution of that conflict. It's been explained that you can force nations to become members of federations and this is probably what happened to the blue aliens, likely justified by the other members as necessary to achieve peace among them. Of course, the leader of the blue aliens was clever. He bided his time until he had amassed enough resources and allies to break away from the federation by force. This is likely a war of independence or a civil war scenario.
considering the aliens federation is called the UNION of progres they must be a egaltarian xenophlic federation who probably went to war with the blue elves over agressive expansion slavery or purging but in forcing them to join it destoryed there ecnomy which blue dude used to build his forces leave then immidatly form a miltary allieance with the megacorp humans and the frogs

THIS goddamn unit, I joked so much about how perturbed he looked in the first trailer and thought it was just an artistic flair, some variety in expressions. All in the background, not really focused on aside from camera zoom and pan, glad to see that was actually intentional. Which just makes so much sense with this context. Just need space Rats now and Skaven-blight will be ready to tear out of the Realm of Ruin and into the Stellaris universe in some Thanquol level "Just as planned?", tracking down some definitely not Eldar after accidentally prank called them in the Warhammer Fantasy End-Times (seriously, it happened).
Anyone else noticed the following clues? At 0:35 we can see the human next to the blue alien and the frog alien next to the human. At 1:05 they are missing (the humanlike alien to the left side is the blue humanlike alien at the right side at 0:35). At 0:49 there are a couple of details: 1) We can see three contracts with pens lying next to them on the table 2) The human is signing it and shaking hands with blue alien 3) The frog alien is standing behind it's treaty on the right side of the table. He looks kinda relaxed and is smoking a cigar, this indicates that he has already signed the treaty himself 4) Because the frog seems relaxed and the human is also quite happy in the scene, it let's assume us that they weren't forced into it (like the blue alien was into the treaty of the first federation, called "The Union of Progress" as seen in 0:13) 5) The narrator (blue alien) says: "So when an opportunity came to try something else we took it". Combined with the point above it leads to the assumption that they partnered up with the human and the frog nation. But since it's specifically worded "When an opportunity came [...] we took it" it sounds like the frog (who assumingly signed the treaty before the human did) stepped to the blue alien with the idea to partner up against The Union of Progress I wonder about the story behind this trailer. So if I had to take guess, I would say that the frog initiated a coup against The Union of Progress, got the blue alien and the human to agree and they formed their own federation. But I can't say which type it is. Since the human and the frog seem to be content with the treaty (see point 4) it doesn't seem to be a hegemony, despite 1:05.
I think they(blue alien) the humans and frogs lost a war and were forcefully assimilated into the Union, I think the Humans got the best deal of the three at the beginning but ended up realizing it was basically a Versailles treaty and began rearming.
I agreed with Konsor on the assumption of human and frogo lose a war and forced in the federation, by the look of the human clothes I would say his a UNE and if we take the rest of DLC trailers the UNE lost a colonies during the apocalypse DLC, the UNE will be a bit Militarised and want to stay independent after that war. They would see the federation nothing more than an attempt annexation, the human, frogo and the blue guy had made a military alliance, behind their so call "friends".
Blue Bro is the hero of this story. His people, the losers of a galactic war. Left broken, they had only two options, between abandoning their old ways of life, and starving as a species. Now he's standing against his former oppressors, prepared to show them what his people had to suffer through.

The Treaty of Versailles wasn't harsh though. Germany was fucked after WWI because the war had utterly wrecked its economy, not because the treaty was harsh. Think about it: if it was really so harsh, how did Germany recover enough to start WWII scarcely twenty years later? If you want to look at a genuinely harsh treaty, look at the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk which Germany forced on Russia, and compare its terms to those of Versailles. You'll see the difference soon enough.
@@MrSumphora depends by what metics you call harsh. The sanctions due to the Treaty resulted in about a third of the inflation plus the whole blame for the war that really pissed the people off. Personally i would have partition germany, austria and russia. But half assing thing is a French and British tradition
@@DLordwar3 Partitioning would have worked well. Totally no way at all for a Fascist to exploit it - no way for another Bismarck to rise. Disunite Germany = everlasting peace? Don't think so.

That's pretty much the plot from "Ace Combat 6". The aggressor nation claims they had no choice but to to to war because of their economic hardships, yet somehow they can afford an entire fleet of enormous flying battleships.

1231Skyguy seems like it was the other way around, Blue guy’s country was being exploited by a powerful hegemony, so he banded together with the frogs and humans to form an Galactic Union stronger than the hegemony.
@@NinjaOtter1209 pretty sure onlythe humans were his allies since the frogs were with the others when the federation station was being targeted

"When the choice is to sign, or to starve, there is no choice"
So true... but I'm curious to know what happened for these guys being un such a situation at first.

Oh, I’ve been looking forward to this!
At 0:49 there are a couple of details:
1) We can see three contracts with pens lying next to them on the table
2) The human is signing it and shaking hands with blue alien
3) The frog alien is standing behind it's treaty on the right side of the table. He looks kinda relaxed and is smoking a cigar, this indicates that he has already signed the treaty himself
4) Because the frog seems relaxed and the human is also quite happy in the scene, it let's assume us that they weren't forced into it (like the blue alien was into the treaty of the first federation, called "The Union of Progress" as seen in 0:13)
5) The narrator (blue alien) says: "So when an opportunity came to try something else we took it". Combined with the point above it leads to the assumption that they partnered up with the human and the frog nation. But since it's specifically worded "When an opportunity came [...] we took it" it sounds like the frog (who assumingly signed the treaty before the human did) stepped to the blue alien with the idea to partner up against The Union of Progress
I wonder about the story behind this trailer.
It reminds me of someone from the second world war...

Look at the aliens signing the treaty with the angry blue guy.
Now look what species portraits the pre-set megacorps use.
Getting heavy german reich vibes from blue guy here.
Maybe his species is Versaillien.

Well the biggest shitpost of the Versailles Treaty was blaming all the fault of the war on germany, which to be fair really did not start the damn thing.

so... When are we going to get an overhaul of the Combat system and planetary invasion system?
They are both fine
Rounix the game at launch was fine too, but if it can be made better then it should imo
@@bleblekime1815 the invasion system could use some work because right now it's literally just a numbers game. At least with the ships there's some level of strategy involved with different ship builds. You don't really get to customize your armies, except maybe giving them the very strong trait and all that does is a straight boost to damage...
I wish they did short videos for major events. In MoO2 they had a 5 second video for when you destroyed a planet. I would love to see that again. A small cut scene when an FE wakes up, or portals open up and ships pour out.
Ah, those Mass Effect and Star Wars vibes. :D
When the UK leaves the EU and announces the "British Empire 2: Electric Boogaloo"
@TookALevelInBadass
Considering how they built the previous one they won't need much.
@SwordSorcery2020 They had a Juggernaut to back their claim
I love how blue guy implies most of the reason they're leaving the Federation is because their empire faced economic hardships (people starving) while the rest of the federation ignored them, but maybe they wouldn't have had such a tough time if they hadn't spent all their money on building a spaceship the size of a small country.
That's pretty much the plot from "Ace Combat 6". The aggressor nation claims they had no choice but to to to war because of their economic hardships, yet somehow they can afford an entire fleet of enormous flying battleships.
This made me just as excited for the new music as I am for the new content.
