It's getting a Gold Foil side event in ProTour Amsterdam says enough right there. LSS is taking it as a serious format.
One side event doesn't make it a serious format.
@@newjerseydamo the gold foil event is almost at every calling or above event and has been for a while. We play commoner for fun in the PDX area but we also put 4 players in the top 8 of a fairly large tournament in LA this year.
I'd say give it a chance. The prizing is worth the time for at least one event.
I completely agree that we need a good, dare I say ‘casual’, base for the game to survive!
I love commoner because it gives me a chance to play Vis again!!
Great points! I've spend $200 plus on making my commoner decks shiny. The only CC deck I own is the Kayo Armory deck xD

Clash seems like the perfect stepping stone after buying a blitz precon, it deserves some real love
I tend to think Clash is best served as a fan-type format - it'll be far more fluid and responsive that way.
@@DiceCommandoI agree with the way it’s managed, the seperate rules committee is great to create a different, more inclusive format. I guess I just wish LSS found a way to talk with them and incorporate the ruleset into official tournaments even as a side event, and armoury events or similar. A little like EDH I guess. Great video btw, your points about supporting accessible formats are absolutely spot on.
I’ve got 10 commoner decks, one for every class. I play it with my kids a lot.
Great stuff! I'd love for more LGS to run a Commoner/Clash night in addition to running their CC armory. I feel like having both of those available to the community gives a place where if you don't love the CC meta, you can always switch it up. Its also obviously great for new players! Keep up the great work!

Georgia is growing slowly but because it’s only CC here. Blitz would definitely draw in disgruntled Yugioh players. Commoner would definitely bring in players who are budget focused and don’t have much time to play.
Competitive wont keep a tcg game afloat. Look at MtG, standard has waned due to arena and hasbro has no pro tour. Mtg has commander, pauper, etc. i mostly play FaB blitz and commoner. I still play CC but the problem with the CC format is that it should be called CC = Command and Conquer lol.... UPF could be the big seller but it needs WORK..... no one plays it on youtube.... Clash is utterly useless, we need more upf suppoert and PvE
I completely agree, in that a casual base is needed to drive sales.
On the flip side, w/out competitive side, I don't know that this game succeeds in terms of "drive".
We all need each other to succeed. That's why folks who dismiss other formats are - in my opinion - shortsighted.

I agree that blitz is most likely the worst format for new players (cost and powerful decks)
On the other hand I do like the unofficial clash format just by adding the rears the cost is still low. And with the rears the theme and feal of the hero's are there.
Look at victor. He is basically no text hero in common only a test of strength. Dromai dose not have any cool dragon etc
Add the rears and both hero's feel similar to there normal game plan at low $ cost
I think one just has to acknowledge that commoner is it's own format. If you expect it to just be "cheap FaB" and play the same way, you're going to be disappointed.
Each format of FaB (CC, Blitz, Commoner) are very distinct and different. I think that's the issue of hate on many of them, is an expectation of it to "be the same just cheaper" or "be the same just faster".
Just my 2. Have fun with clash, it's super-cool!
