People say this song reminds them of the early 2000s, but I don't feel it that way. it strikes me like the serene times between 2013 and 2019, especially warm summer nights with a purple tinted sky, or deep but pale blue winter morning that is difficult to tell apart its blue from its white. it feels like that era, the peace of that era. the domestic struggles of it that were so hopeful because of how innocent and untravelled one was, its domestic issues that were so major and now seem so trivial.... I miss my youth, and I love him most dearly. and the worst part is I have him trapped inside me to shelter him from the cruel world that would otherwise erode him. but I'm afraid if I keep him buried too long I won't be able to dig him back up. two choices each worse than the other... life doesn't feel like a gift at the moment.
