I was born on the Danish island of Bornholm in the Baltic. It was occupied by the Russians for a year after WWII and I have no wish to see them come back ever again. Ukraine is fighting our war and we should support them til the day they'll win. I will continue to follow this channel until then. Keep up the good work Jake, you make a difference.

Can you really believe that the was talk about a Qannon believing washed up football player running for the second highest office in this land. I mean seriously. We are ignoring people who have the actual chops to do the job in favor for people with the most shock value. We have collectively lost our minds in this country.
The good General would be a superb president. However Democrats as as crooked as it gets and Republicans have gone totalitarian. He can’t go it alone because the US system always destroys anything that’s not from one or other end of the system.

British here, been keeping closely up to date on the war from day 1. No sign of fatigue here; while Ukrainians are dying to withstand the onslaught, I could not live with myself to show "fatigue" while sitting in comfort in my home. SLAVA UKRAINI!
Belgian here and I completely agree. The Ukrainians are bleeding, not only for their own country (which is an admirable goal in itself), but actually also FOR US! They are living daily horror in defense of our idea of freedom and democracy. And we're just still here, debating, being too comfortable. And when it comes to defense, my country is, no surprise, doing worst of all in NATO still. Ok, we are a small country in size, but we are above European average in terms of population size and economy. Our generals are begging for more funds and more weapons and ammo for years. It pisses me off. It feels like we are failing a people of heroes who are partly doing our job now. My grandfather fought against the Nazis, my great grandfather fought in the trenches at the river Yser. Belgium is a funny, absurd little country for sure, but are we really gonna fail their legacy? Imagine if your people, British, had the same mentality in those days as we have now...

As a outsider I find this all crazy we haven't supplied enough to Ukraine as my country this year has spent double on indigenous communities then what it spends on Canada's military, tot he point were not going to have any flight training inside Canada announced this year. What would your combined military experience predict be good for a small military like Canada's should invest in high priced low number of units or low cost quantity... I'm sure both

I agree! I wish more MAGA supporters would listen to what the overwhelming majority of our current and retired military leaders are saying about the danger of this new Russia, China, Iran, North Korea military alliance.
To ease your concern ; There is no way in hell that the Republican Party would abandon Europe , The first thing to do on the domestic front is kick the leftist out of power , Get a handle on illegal immigration , secure "all" US borders , as we all know , there are wars going on , The present administration has done a lot of damage to both the economy and security sector . We see it as the Clinton & Obama era policy is flawed .
As far as Trump goes ; you need to learn how to interpret Him , "listen" , You must admit the European part of NATO got it in gear . He is not a politician your mom & dad would tell you about . Like General Hodges said, he has disagreements with Biden on some policy, but he never for one second doubted his character, support for the Constitution and respect for allies. Trump has no qualities in this department. In my opinion, Trump is equivalent to a radio shock jock. People may jokingly like them, but nobody takes them seriously.

As a Brit with Irish heritage, I would agree, albeit it is a vision thing so clear-sighted. As for Vikings, my understanding is Dublin was a Viking town and the Irish Vikings and friends invaded England to help the Vikings in the North long before those nasty Normans, also ironically from Viking stock, invaded Ireland, so round this part of the world it is difficult not to be a Viking.

Hi Jake, greetings from the U.K. Ben Hodges is a great guy, his analysis seems spot on to me. I am disappointed by the collective Wests response to the invasion of Ukraine, our leaders are proving Putin right; that the West is decedent and incapable. We must stand strong, and not be blackmailed into a weak response.

While listening to this podcast I submitted letters to my congressmen. I am telling them I want us to support Ukraine to victory; that we need to give them what they need, when they need it. I encourage everyone to let their representatives and Senators know they support Ukraine.

Putin IS Russia...everything Russia does, everyone Russia kills is just Putin. You can even substitute "Russia" with "Putin" and see if it changes the narrative...which in most cases it won't. Russians are just Russias...i mean Putins...population. Russians are a Ressource for Putin, nothing more. He uses them to legitimise himself in his delusions, uses them as an excuse to invade countries to protect "Putins population" living there or are placed...and then kills more Russians by invading than there were there to protect in the first place. Putin does not care about resources,therefor he does not care about Russians.

An enlisted individual having the education and opportunity to interview a retired General is something I can’t imagine happening in a totalitarian society.

Jake and Ben are 2 very articulate and intelligent men. More people, esp. Republicans, need to listen to them. Ukraine needs more spoke-persons like them. Ukrainian soldiers are fighting for all free, democratic peoples around the globe.

This was such an impressive interview and wonderful to hear two informed and sane people speak about the situation in Ukraine. It was good to hear the General speak of America's interests in Europe, its citizens and military bases there, all contributing to American prosperity. It seems that the threats made by Donald Trump and his friend Vladimir Putin are not being deflected effectively. I hope that the American people realise that Ukrainians have no choice but to fight and die for their country and a negative outcome to their success will have enormous consequences for the American people as well as other nations of our world. We all need to protect our freedoms and support Ukraine against tyranny.

I'm an independent, but on the left side of that. I campaigned for Bernie. So I certainly have many disagreements with Trump and the Speaker of the House, but I am glad General Hodges called out Joe Biden for not using the bully pulpit to educate the public, and keep Ukraine in the spotlight. As everyone who watches this channel knows, it's so important to stop Putin here and now. Thanks to Jake and General Hodges for doing what you do.

It’s absolutely wonderful to see Americans who so sincerely believe in defending democracy, both at home and abroad, and view it as a moral and strategic obligation. Unfortunately, many people within democratic societies don’t understand the real value of democracy and have come to take everything they have for granted. In fact I would argue that millions of people in non-democratic societies, such as Iran and Syria, have a much greater appreciation for democracy than those who grew up in it.
