I’ve been using the Vagisil feminine wash(the purple one) with the very very light scent and it’s been a game changer. Before I would just use water and sometimes body wash soap to clean down there and it threw my PH so bad. I was so prone to yeast infections and it was bad. Never got a yeast infection when I used vagisil. But I only use it in the outer parts down there never in the actual hole(cause it cleans itself). Furthermore I don’t think using water is just enough considering your private part has sweat glands down there and produces oils which water cannot properly manage. Not to talk of when you’re on your period🥴
Using water alone is not good for the vulva. A mild soap would work but I was recommended a mild facial cleanser that mixes with the oil to remove it because soaps aren’t good to use down there plus they don’t work effectively in washing away the oil ; it doesn’t remove the oil and honestly it works really well
Hi Dr V! This is a great video. I think more information about vaginal health during menopause is needed. I had a friend who had terrible itchiness down there and used different and irritating vaginal dryness creams before realising that she was peri menopausal.

i ditch feminine wash and after that zero discharge.. no more itchiness.. same result when I no longer use panty liner.. just eat Greek yogurt & stay dry down there.. only wash with lukewarm water will do the job

I stopped using fem wash because I had an irritation, it was NAFE safe (A'kin) but I still developed Candida Albicans (yeast infection). After I got treated for 6 or 7 days, and went back for another check up, my yeast / bacteria levels are all good. So I have stopped using any fem wash for the past 4 months and have never experienced irritation down there X

Please can you make a short video on inner thigh pimples closer to the delicate womanly area. I get this because of walking in the heat or doing indoor exercise such as cycling or gym exercise. Secondly, can you make a video on how to prevent skin damage when swimming in indoor pools as there is a lot of chlorine? What is a barrier cream to use in that private area before going for a swim? as swimming is the best exercise for me to avoid any knee injury. I watch all your other videos too and I can't wait to purchase your sun-cream product in December when I get paid. How fast is the delivery to Australia? Also, unclear why you cant deliver to UAE? as my family is based there. So that means I have to stock up before I head to UAE? I stopped using feminine wash (PH balance one) for an entire week cause I have seen videos from Drs discouraging the use of fw. I could not stand the irritation and smell after the week. I started using it again and the feeling of clean and fresh was back! But I will use your recommendations since I want to use only fragrance free products.
How often did you have to use it and what did you use? Those fw like summer's eve and vagisil basically wipe out your vaginal flora so much that as soon as you stop using them, you're screwed and yeast can easily take over. Seriously, its not even just the fragrance, they often of have sulfates! A lot of people dont even use sulfates on their hair often because its so harsh. Would definitely stop in favor of *gentle* fragrance free cleansers like cetaphil or vanicream if water doesnt do it for you.
I’ve been guilty of using the fragranced Femfresh washes and dove soap for my whole life. I have recently changed to the fragrance free femfresh wash. However when I visited my mums house, she had the most heavily fragranced fem wash I’d ever smelt, it was like a lavender bomb lol. I told her to get fragrance free. Although I have to clean down there, it just grosses me out otherwise even if it’s self cleaning… I couldn’t fathom not using a fem wash or a soap….I do it twice a day and at 29 surprisingly I’ve never had a single infection. I don’t use that douching thing, I just wash normally
I get a fish odour if i use the fragranced femfresh especially the original orange one. I think the fragrance throws me off despite it being ph balanced.

It’s interesting you say that because when I got BV one drop of tea tree oil in a sitz bath with sea salt was the only thing that cleared it up! Going to the dr and getting a prescription made it worse .

I have really bad acne scaring that has effected my confidence and now I’m older I’m trying my best to get rid of it but thinking to do a microneedling procedure or chemical with a professional. I used to do the same stop using dove i would start using natural yoni products and yoni steaming it has done me wonders not one bv infection or yeast infection. Ive been using natural yoni products for a year my vajayjay has loved me ever since ❤️❤️
The phs you mentioned are reverse from everything I’ve read. Your vulva is skin. A gentle fragrance-free product that you would use on your body should be fine for the vulva. A baby wash or fragrance face wash like you mentioned is also good.
I’ve tried Dr. Bronners Castile peppermint soap below and it wasn’t a good experience for me. I didn’t like the tingle. I was irritated for a few days. I prefer using products without fragrances and essential oils in the area. Thank you for your recommendations.

The new formulation for the gentle skin cleanser doesn’t have fragrance in it at all. The one for oily skin still has it though.
