Oh my gosh. The tape idea is so incredible! I have been doing art for years, thats one of those gold nugget tips. I search for in videos, books...master artist usually share only a couple at most. Thank you! It's brilliant. I just got highlights back on a drawing I never quite liked. There's hope for it now. I used sm piece of clear packing tape, and a stylus. Worked great.
Thank you for your many tips for curly hair! Including the magic tape tip for highlights. I am getting a cockatoo puppy soon and am so looking forward to trying to paint her and will use these tips.
Thank you for this! I am starting a camel and got super overwhelmed with all the curls and I wanted to trash it. Thanks to you, I now have a plan and the “know how” to tackle this project. Your explanation was very clear and easy to follow. Your work is incredible and I feel very fortunate to be able to learn from you.
I wish there was a place you could go and get the recipe of pencils for different colors of dogs. I have a white and beige Shihzu and I can’t seem to find the right combination. I have the 36 size box of Polychromos, 40 box of Luminance
www.bonnysnowdonacademy.com/blog/5-colour-recipes-to-help-you-draw-more-realistic-animals Have a look at this blog, it will help you with picking what pencils to use for a range of fur colours 🥰
I also draw portraits and your videos are extremly helpful for me. With that I am getting better in drawing details. Thanks for sharing your techniques! Greetings from Germany :)
The way I'be been drawing, I've always been copying the reference photo exactly. All the tiny details as well. I wonder why you personally prefer not to copy exactly, but I think I myself should let this stubborn habit go since it costs so much extra time :) Good advice.
I think do what you feel is right for you - I personally want to create something that looks like the photo by I don’t want to draw all the tiny details 🥰
Having seen some comments over on facebook about this technique it seems that it works well with other papers too - just be really careful and test the paper first. I'd probably try just getting rid of some of the stickiness before laying on the paper
the scotch tape is matt so makes it easier to see where you've already used it, plus it's got a lower tac and doesn't usually rip the surface of the paper
Hi Linda - Caran D'Ache Luminance pencils come in the usual sorts of colours you would expect, but they also have tints of colours like the Brown Ochre and Burnt Ochre - these I find really really useful for drawing pale fur. They do a French grey in a tint as well which is the most wonderful colour. I hope that helps?
A lot of people using FC pencils and Caran D'Ache Luminance. I have the FB - what do the Caran's do for you... are they more brilliant, do they have more colour choices, etc.... thanks
I Have never seen the scotch tape technique before, 100% will be trying this out!
It's a fab technique :)

This is so helpful. Is there a full tutorial of this one? Thanks
Curious about your strokes... are you going back and forth, drawing towards your, pushing away? Hard to see from this angle. Amazing results btw. 😊
Fab great tip
Great technique, do you use odorless spirits as well for blending
Christine Schäfer thank you 😊 no I don’t tend to use anything other than pencil to blend
Fantastic so interesting :)) I know what I’ll be doing next few hrs thank you :)) 👍
Does the pastel not smear?

Does this technique work as well with other papers, or do you find Pastelmat superior?
I've used it on arches hot press and it works well.

Would waxed paper work instead of glassine as a protector against hand oils on the paper?
Pamela D yes I think it would work well 😊
Where do I get the embossing point from please? Not finding a source as yet! Thanks. Jo
I bought mine from amazon :)
@@BonnySnowdonAcademy Thank you.
What's the difference in using th Scotch tape and ordinary sellotape?
the scotch tape is matt so makes it easier to see where you've already used it, plus it's got a lower tac and doesn't usually rip the surface of the paper
pastel or colored pencils?
Only ever coloured pencils 🥰
@@BonnySnowdonAcademy Köszönöm
Thank You🥰❤️👏 do You always use the pastelmat board?
AC Design by Sweden yes I do I prefer it over the sheets 😊
I cant see the first part because the sketching is too light. Is there somewhere else I can view it?

When you mention a certain colour and then 10% etc., what does the percentage mean please?
