Hi can you help please! (Im on windows 11 if it helps) Ive downloaded the remote desktop app on my pc and when ive logged in it comes up saying "something went wrong wait 2-5 minutes" ive waited it, tried many times and it doesnt work.
I haven’t run into this before, I’d try restarting your headset and computer and making sure everything is on the same network and same Meta account when it’s necessary. If not, you might want to contact Meta support.
What I really don't understand is why Meta still hasn't added a native HDMI/DisplayPort over USB-C connection to the Quest. It has been done before on other devices, and having a lossless, compression-less display link to the Quest without beaming it through USB would be incredible.
It should be out now in the same menu where you can change the resolution. Try tapping on the virtual screen and going to the menu in the bottom right.
The virtual desktop dev did some crazy shit, for me it looks better for pcvr than steam link, oculus link wired and wireless and I can even connect to my pc remotely from anywhere in the world without port forwarding. HOW
I have a Mac and would like to hdmi link it to the quest 3s but there is no HDMI port. So all I would need is a type c to HDMI dongle that supports video and power right? then I could get a cable that supports power and video so it could charge while I am using it? or I could get a type c to 2 type c splitter to run a charging cable and a video cable to the quest? lot of question marks because this is just all in my head don't know if it any of it would work but you seem like you do so if you could help me that would be much appreciated
You’re on the right track, you would need one power and one HDMI cable to get your ideal setup working as you can’t go directly into the headset without a capture card, and AFAIK there aren’t any cards that go straight over type C. A USB-C video and power dongle would be all you need outside of the capture card.
finally something to do other than play bonelab

100%, being able to go straight HDMI without a capture card would be a dream
@probablyhades definitely, although I was thinking more of wired vr
Could we actually put a raspberry pi on the (not in, on top) Quest 2 and when we want to use it we just connect it and it'll easily do computer?
That’s a great idea actually, I might try that out.
How do I add more monitors I can't find the option for it, is it part of a future update? (meta remote desktop)

also I could also use a more powerful capture card to run it at 1080 at 120 right

HDMI Link only displays 1080p60 as far as I’m aware, so a more powerful card wouldn’t really help there.
@@probablyhades ok thank you for clearing that up for me
