    Very nice restoration. I like the way you solved molding of leather piston. 👏👍

    What a great idea to tape your bolts to keep them from being scratched by the tightening process! I've watched at least several hundred restoration videos and have never seen anyone do that.
    An observation: While My Mechanics is considered by many to be the 'top dog' of UA-cam restorations, I consider Awesome Restorations to be an ideal template for those in the process of building their channel. You are already showing good progress.

      Hello, thank you very much for your observation, I always try to innovate in different techniques or in the focus I give to the video.
      If they are both great restoration channels, I hope one day to be at that level.
      Thank you so much

    Nice one brother. It's an Argentinian water pump, in fact, there's still a functional one in the house of my grandparents, it's been there since I remember, I used to drink directly from it when I was a child, tasty super cold water came out of it straight from underground waters.

      Hi, yes it's Argentina!!! What a beautiful memory, of course the water that comes out from under the ground is super cold!!!

    Ya know, despite everyone bitching about the music, I actually enjoyed the middle part! "ASMR" restoration channels are everywhere these days, and maybe you just didn't hit the target with that first song (or last) but I think it could be a cool change to watch a talented restoration artist like you, and some good uplifting acoustic/ambient music or low-fi in the background! I say keep the music, just narrow it in a bit more; it should compliment the video, not detract from it, ya know?
    If you ever need some advice or help, feel free to hit me up!
    Keep up the damn good work my friend, I am digging what you're putting out in the world 🤘🏼 and eagerly awaiting the next awesome restoration!

      Hello, thank you for your comment, yes, that was a bit of the idea but I think I used the wrong music and many asked to remove it, and this is also about seeing metrics and trial and error, but I am evaluating your idea and I think it is very good the recommendation.
      I really appreciate your comment, thank you very much.

    The end product with shiny bare metal areas... Do you use clear lacquer spray to protect them?

      Yeah, I'm on it now, taken it to pieces all good so far. It's a Parry make 2 1/2 size bore... It's also interesting to research the history of the maker too... Thanks for the advice. @@RedRustRestoration

    It seems odd, that they would use that much metal on such a big spout, since the amount of water coming out of it didn't warrant it. It always seemed to me, that back in the old days, they were much more concerned with frugality (and with good reason).

    • @RedRustRestoration
      @RedRustRestoration  9 місяців тому +2

      @ShannonFreng Hello, very good observation, I had never used one of these manual water pumps, and I assumed that due to the dimensions of the pipe the water flow would be much greater and barely a third of the size of the pipe coming out is a lot.
      I must confess that it surprised me too. ha ha ha

      @@RedRustRestorationGreetings. Now that I think of it, perhaps it was figured that size looked more appealing to early homesteaders, than a smaller one.

    • @RedRustRestoration
      @RedRustRestoration  9 місяців тому +1

      Yes, it's probably that, it could also be that since the spout has that hook to hang the bucket of water, they thought it should be bigger and stronger to resist the weight.

    Почему все современные реставраторы уничтожают следы промышленного литья?

    • @RedRustRestoration

      Он не был разрушен, ха-ха-ха, он сохранил текстуру индустриального литья, это красивая деталь, на самом деле у меня есть несколько литых деталей, которые я хочу сохранить на 100% оригинальными.
