Thank you. Best video I have seen on proper care of this type of coral. Great explanation of water chemistry, flow and feeding. Your store is incredible!
Daniel sir I have a question My hammer coral was doing great for about a year it was in a 75 gallon tank that was my starting tank. I upgraded and got my dream tank 180 gallon. I cycle the tank waited about 6 months and started adding and swapping the coil over from my 75 gallon I went into a bacterial bloom and had a purchase a UV light. When it finally cleared up and I can see the corals all of them were okay except for my hammer currently none of the polyps are standing out it looks like a tree stub with bright white with its mouth open The center holes I'm guessing are its mouth there's four heads on it it's a pretty big stump. Is it dying on me is there any way that I can bring her back to life My perimeters are next to perfect. I truly don't understand what has happened and it's my favorite coral any input would be grateful I can send you photos if need be I listen to a lot of your videos and I feel like you would know if you saw thank you for taking the time to read thank you for taking the time to make these videos
Can you put any of them next to each other? Like a hammer next to torch? Or frogspawn next to a hammer? I had a frogspawn sting and kill a head of my torch. But i also have hammers and I’m not sure if I can put my torch next to the hammer
I thought I had placed my hammer in a medium to low flow area....but two of the heads both started coming apart in the middle and the polyps started tearing off. it wasn't swaying much at all so I didn't think it could have anything to do with flow😔 this is my first coral.
regarding flow you want to have them moving gently. Water chemistry is very important you must have all the parameter in check. if water chemistry is good, it could have been a biological problem like a disease or infection. sometimes if a crab crawls a coral they can cut their tissue and lead to infection... ill definitely start with water chemistry. Light intensity must be adequate also. if all is good try zoanthids or any other soft coral.
Heather_7236 that sounds like “polyp bailout” and nothing to do with flow. I have my hammers in pretty high flow and dont have that problem. Polyp bailout is basically the corals last ditch effort to survive. Most prob a water chemistry problem.
My issue is the opposite 😂 im actually struggling to keep nitrate and Po above 0, i even had to take out my chaeto and turn off my skimmer for a couple of hours.

Hi Daniel, my torch is closed for one week, I have Ca 420, Kh 8.1, Mg 1290, with salifert test. Low flow, and the torch is in a low light zone. No white bugs until now. Low phosphate(I use RowaPhos reactor) and low nitrate with ATS. What can be affecting the torch. Thanks.
if the problem is not chemical, not physical, its biological. is he close to another coral, there could be agression with sweeping tentacles, there might be toxins released by other corals like sarcophyton (use a good carbon i like chemipure to adsorb or polyfilter). sometimes some fish might nip at it, or an invertebrate with their pointy legs might have damage the tissue.... try to do a ICP test...nature is complicated and you are keeping the most difficult... sometimes we just have to let them do their thing...
Another great video. The really huge coral (frogspawn, I thing) is amazing but I prefer the Lays ones 🤣. Keep with the videos...they are getting much better. About feeding corals, do you prefer liquid and frozen feedings? No powder?
OBRIGADO!! all of those feedings will work. but if they are large polyp with some nice tentacles, they are more adapted capture plankton so if you want them to grow faster Ill give them some frozen or if powder, make a paste and squeeze some in the polyp.
Why not just try it out? I just got into reef keeping 3 weeks ago and the hammer was my first one. I got it out of impulse but its thriving and got so much bigger than when i first got it. I Keep my calcium at 400-450, KH between 9-10, Mag 1250-1350, and PO keep down with phosguard.

My pink frogspawn loves high nitrate 60ppm it grows like crazy
Very amazing shop. You keep it super clean. Wish I had shops out here by me like that. Do you ship?
Hi Daniel! can u tell me what you like to keep your PAR at for your Torches and Hammers? do all Euphyllia like similar PAR or are they all different?
Can you put any of them next to each other? Like a hammer next to torch? Or frogspawn next to a hammer?

What vitamins did you show in bottle
great job
The bottom part looks like it is wrap with a thin piece of white paper...whats that?

Marcel Rodriguez more fish maybe?
Careful dinoflagellates would love to explode at those parameters
