That’s the reason the question was asked tho… to point out that very same flaw in the logic and how it could only really be used to push a select agenda. That being said, how did you get to that conclusion from that question? If anything it seems more likely that the question suggests that It’d be easy to overrate players defensively due to a lack of being truly tested talent wise and the limitations of the game at the time. For example, in a league where iso is the standard as a result of the rules at the time, a “great defender” would have to be good in that regard too.

Where was a 90’s debate
So I went back and listened to the original Gil vs Dreamerspro discussion and listened to it twice. To describe it as Gil cooked Dreamerspro is not accurate. Gil actually said things that support the position that LBJ would not have been the same player had he not gone to the Heat. And when Dreamerspro answered that question Charles Barkley I can tell what he was doing. He was paging through a list of 90s players in his mind and he said Clyde then he said I don’t know it could be Charles Barkley. Then Gil interrupted and started naming players. Dreamerspro did not continue listing because Gil continued his explanation. It wasn’t the way Lo described it, that he just could not think of any others. The conversation continued in another direction. Just keeping it fair. It’s good content. I’m gonna use this in an upcoming show.

I think this whole thing is after the fact. It was between Lamont,Gil, and DreamsPro. Low came in after the whole thing was already recorded. Because other then that I think DreamsPro handled himself very very well and pretty much exposed Lamont & Gil.

Keep in mind DreamPro was in hostile territory & pretty much got jumped so with all things considered he did pretty well objectively speaking. He turned Lamont’s talking points right back at Lamont and called Cap 🧢 plus did it in a funny fashion as well.
