Great video! I was in the store today. No where online to leave a review, but needed to be said - the staff at this store are amazing, so informative. The even guy drew me a picture of the set up and gave me some great tips. Highly recommended!

Vancouver Island resident here. New subscriber. Only caught your recent video about pinks and this one so far. I like how you stress the rules. Follow the rules. Great job.👍

Heard that FN said no to the opening. DFO and some FN attitude towards fish is disgusting. Chinooks and sockeye being sold in big amounts in the valley. Wasting fish should be prison time or super high fines. DFO serves corrupted politicians then big corporation / fish farms then FN and comercial. Recreational guys get scrap after all above grups are satisfied. Keep this up and there will be no fishing for future generations.

I am FN. I'm not from BC so I'm not allowed to fish for "ceremonial purposes" only sport fish like the rest of the population. I have to say, the dumping of fish that I've seen over the last some amount of years is disgusting. They should be at the very least giving those fish to the food banks. Besides that, I don't think scraping the river clean with gill nets is very ceremonial at all. My mother, who's band is in Alberta, thinks this province is a joke when it comes to FN and how they use the resource. There is nothing ceremonial about it. I know someone is going to hate on what I said, but I don't care. When it comes to my love for fishing, I could care less about someone's feelings.

@@Pray4Mojo1I'm FN from BC but more up north so unless I get permission from the local bands and same with you. We cannot fish for any purpose other than recreational fishing like the rest of the people here.
I don't agree with gill nets either to be honest.

Thoughts on trying for pinks with the fly in the Fraser?

I think it may be good this season with the Fraser running lower and clear than normal. Start with a sink tip and slightly bushier pink and chartreuse flies.

Just get rid of Gil nets and use a method that’s selective like trap weirs

Capilano FN are doing good job with selective fishery and cooperating with hatchery. Never seen dumped fish there too.

@@krzysztofr8598 yeah years ago I watched a presentation on the testing of Fall Pound Net Test Fishing on the Columbia. It’s 100 percent selective and the fish they tagged on release had a 99% survival rate.

Doesn’t make sense why we always had a cute for our true fish out of the freezer and then complaining about we having too much fish. Where is it give us a six person limit for pinks

What bait would you suggest for fishing from shore? Mission bridge area.

Can't use bait on the Fraser for salmon. Stick to lures.

Pacific Northwest regulations, whether NW US or Canada are an absolute mess for sport anglers. My dollars will never see your fisheries.

Yup - and it’s a shame - cus the fishing can be so amazing. But we understand. 😞

But we will keep fighting for common sense management - conservation first not politics. (Wish us luck 🍀)
