I suck, I had the clutch side bearing fail, and I just got it all back together and the drive shaft slipped out of the clutch side after driving 20', looking at you video around the 10:44 and the 11:07 mark, I now realize that I put the triangle bearing holders one on the inside of the tunnel and one on the outside, instead of both on the inside. Ugh I have to start all over. lol
What kind of symptoms were you all experiencing? I have a 98&99 powder Special and 98 seams a little "Rough" when increasing RPM's to get moving. Does that sound like a drive shaft bearing? Thans for the help.
@@anomosity4327 Hey, Thanks for the feedback. As it turs out I had a bad drive belt...... I thought the previous owner said it was new. I guess I should check those things in the future. Thanks again for the feedback. Do you have any experiance with the reverse lever backing out slightly and makeing an odd sound? it goes away if I get the forward gears to line up right and hold the lever in. Thanks.
Hey bud I got a shot chaincase side bearing i think im leaking small amounts of oil out from where the shaft goes into the back side of the chaincase. Do I have to remove the shaft from the machine completely to remove that bearing or could i just get it off taking the chaincase open from there ? speedo side is still good last owner just did the speedo side and the sled hasn't been used since but he couldn't get the bearing for the chaincase side before he sold it to me now I have it here ready to go.
Love you video anyway you can come teach me how to do mine? Lol I just bought my first sled and the speedometer is not working so I took the housing off and barring looks good but that speedo key is in the hole can’t get it out.
My bravo did this... but I didn’t know it did this... and it ate through 3 inch’s of steal and then blew my case side bearing and flew my chain into the case and cracked the case in half...
Great job filming all the steps. Thank you!
I'm doing mine this weekend.
Thanks for posting this to let me know what I'm in for.
Thanks very much for the detailed video, you saved me a lot of trouble and effort!
Great video! I gotta do this on my 92 Cheetah and this helps a lot!
Nice video and thanks for sharing. I'm working on a similar project right now. On our sled, it is the gear case side bearing that went bad.

Thanks for the video bud
Thanks I'm doing a 98 zr and this helped
great video. To the point with out extra rambling.
Thanks it helped on my 94 thundercat. The drive end broke off.

Biggest thing is speedometer stops working. If real bad you get a lot of grinding up front on acceleration

Been there and done that. Once your speedo starts bouncing, you know your in trouble. Head back! Lol.
gonna give it a go.
Great Video, I have to do the exact same thing to my wifes 97 Puma . Where did you get the triangle bearing holders ? an arctic cat dealer? Thanks
I did get them from my local AC dealer. I know you can get them online too
can you use early 2000 M series driveshafts on early 2000 ZR’s ???
I am not sure on that to be honest.
@@anomosity4327 I can confirm the driveshaft does work.

Not from the chaincase side. Chaincase side is the easier side
The kit is in dennis Kirk's website allballs racing bearings collor and o rings I think its 25 bucks just change both bearings it's an easy job
What’s the triangle caps called or a part number for the drive shaft bearings
Sorry - I don't have a part number for those

Needlenose pliers or hook and pick will get it out. If you are in Wisconsin I'm more than happy to assist
Very helpful video but I just want to point out he was calling the skid a track

Gearcase bearing is way easier. Just open chaincase
Did you have to drop the skid?
I did - I'm not sure if you can do it without dropping the skid - but it is MUCH easier if you do
We watch UA-cam videos to see how its done not to listen to you talk about it and skip the actual instal
