Today we finally start to build the new pigeon loft for out on our new property! finally the block flock is coming to life!!
Today i get the floor build of the new racing pigeon loft & also get it all leveled ready!

Yea ... a good temp loft for now ... a little heads up on bigger loft ... I'd build 8 units for separation of OB's, YL's, YB's, Weaned/YB's, Race team breeders ... Another 8 units just for breeding sections ... Build a dream loft ... 😉

Paint the landing board or the roof with a large m inside a circle. Pigeon experiments have shown that the pigeons recognize symbols.

Hi Maney. I'm glad to se your new loft has started and can't wait to see the birds flying. As a fellow West Australian I would be concerned about snakes hiding under the loft floor. If I was you I would put cinder blocks all around the floor to stop snakes accessing the underside of your loft. You could also use wire mesh if you like. Just a thought mate as a friend of mine not far from your place just lost his kitten to a tiger snake bite.
Thanks, sadly no matter what i do there is no stopping the snakes ober this side they are super thick, best bet is to try keep the property as less comfortable for them as possible which im trying to do might take a while. They wont hand around under there maybe a pit stop on the way thru if one does ill motivate him to move on.
I can confirm that the baby pigeons on my balcony are about 4 weeks old. They have all their feathers and they move around whenever their parents come to feed them. They squeak.

Just a thought but you should flip your cinderblock because rodents could be making homes in it in the long run.
