Beautiful looking new loft. Building a new loft you can incorporate all the ideas you wish you could have done on earlier lofts. The settling cage on top is brilliant ❤
Yes buddy, each Loft I built I got a little better and understood what the birds need more each time. This narrow but long design seems to get the young birds, strong fast. 👍

Yeah, I know what you mean about sitting in there all day I spend too much time as it is. But at least my wife knows where to find me.! The expanded metal floor makes it so there’s no dust so they never have to breathe any nasty stuff. Thanks for your comment my friend.

@@whitehouseloft5205 I have a feeling he will. I sometimes see that the good fliers can breed well at home but they aren’t always good when they’re sent away. I had one cock that had no interest for over a year and now he is one of my best! Good luck 👍

Really great loft, Mike! Very well thought out. What are the dimensions on the aviary? And did you use treated 2x4’s to frame it? It’s hard to tell.
I was wondering how you are going to load them for training, your last system was really practical. Let us know what you plan for that.
I’m thinking of using the same method. Make a door to put the loading ramp in front of and onto the tailgate of the truck. Thanks for asking 😁
Buy the flooring materials or I should see the mash for the floor
Depending on where you live if it doesn’t get too cold, you can use the expanded metal on the floor like I did here in South Carolina but in some areas of the country, I think it would be too much breeze in the winter
Loft is so nice I wish I was a pigeon, lol.. How long do you fly a youngster before taking to a 100 mile release?
I work up to that distance for a few months, but I usually don’t train more than 50 miles and then the first race is around 100 miles

Do the birds ever get feet caught in the floor grate ?
Not really I have seen a stumble once in a while but haven’t had any real problems. I would hate it if they got hurt from something I was trying to make their life better with. thanks for asking.
How will you clean the droppings under the loft ?
Oh, that’s the reason. It is up off the ground so I can easily reach in with a rake and pull all the droppings out. Also, it’s only 6 feet wide and I can easily reach in from the backside. Thanks for your question.

I’m sorry I didn’t mention the size in this video. I went over that on part one but it is 6 feet wide and 24 feet long. The low side of the roof is 6 feet high and the high side is 7 feet high. Thanks for asking ✌️
