Was looking to upgrade to a new truck but 'market adjusted prices' have driven me off. Assuming that calms down over next couple/few months, I plan on ordering a TRD Pro. Thanks for the review. Cheers,
I wished the TRD Pro had underseat storage, auto 4wd and tow hooks. I can live without tow hooks but having underseat storage and auto 4wd would have been nice. Also, the fit and finish is not up to par given the high price.
If you get the non hybrid you do get under seat storage in the back but I would never buy the redesigned tundra because you will have problems with the check engine light coming on all the time people will off road the truck like they show the tundra is able to do in the commercials they get water or mud in the filter and mess the engine up then toyota says the warranty doesn't cover that damage the capabilities they show the truck having in the commercial are not real only for show
Good video…just bought a ‘22 loaded up Raptor (with 35” tires) for $78K. Granted, I had to wait nearly a year for it, but being in Colorado, dealerships here really tend to mark up the Tundra TRD Pro’s. I bought a ‘20 TRD Pro and had to find one in Ohio to avoid the $10K markup here in CO. Based on that, the choice is easy, I’ll take the Raptor over the Tundra. Also, annoying that Toyota still won’t put on tow hooks and 4WD Auto.
Btw….your Raptor actually has AWD in 4A, has a unique wet clutch T-case that nearly makes the system react like true AWD, EVERY other truck (including other F150s) has a different/inferior “4A” - usually showing a slight delay before engagement once slippage is felt & also the Raptor 4A truly protects the drivetrain/gears in the dry @ full lock bo binding issues, not recommended to just leave others in that mode. Leafs on the tundra vs coilover on Rappy, the far superior fox shocks, more power/tunability, better exhaust note, bigger tires w/ thicker sidewalls etc etc The raptor >>>>>>> Tundra come on man😂
Thanks for the video I see a lot of comments about huge dealer markups. My dealer in Spirit Lake Iowa has told me on a couple different occasions they don’t markup past MSRP. Back in 2020 when I bought my last truck it was an SR5 sticker was 44k bought for 36k after all discounts and rebates, they had a TRD pro I looked at sticker was 54 and was listed for 52 if I remember correctly. Now admittedly it’s a different world and it will be hard finding trucks but at least this dealer isn’t taking advantage of the situation like so many others are. BTW I believe you still get a lifetime powertrain warranty included from them if you buy a new vehicle but not sure. They sell Chevy and Toyota. Hope this helps anyone looking.
Dealerships in Iowa are finally getting inventory for the lots to test drive. Nice seeing the different options available on different models. To me I feel I would have to build mine to get the features I want on one truck. I own an 2016 Tundra Limited which I find more than satisfying. These new Tundras have more but not necessarily any better what I currently OWN. Having no payments monthly makes it hard to justify buying something new. I don’t have to trade and at the 60-70 thousand dollar asking prices is hard to justify.🤔
Look again... There is no rear under seat storage on the Pro due to the hybrid battery... Also, the Raptor and TRD Pro are not very comparable. Instead, compare the Tremor package and TRD Pro.
Ya, and if you see the metros getting out of these trucks walking into Starbucks you would laugh too. It’s their attempt to grasp manhood with their truck wearing loafers 🤣
This is a cool truck. If the price difference between this and the Raptor was $20k, then of course I would definitely get this, but if I could ever find a Raptor for MSRP, I would get the Raptor hands down. Or a TRX!
9:22 - "Courtesy vehicle - Not for Sale" - My understanding is this truck is provided for a Toyota employee/affiliate. Pretty sure the person who this was built for would not appreciate the hot rodding in the parking lot. Thanks a lot dealership!
Literally same price as a 150 tremor with 402A. Only miss is not having a 4Auto. In FL where it rains literally all the time an on road auto 4 would be welcome especially with 580ftlbs. I think ppl are gonna loop this thing in the wet. Tc or not
I love the Wildpeaks, happy to see they come standard on the Pro. FYI that red thing next to the skid plate is the TRD sway bar :) Maybe these will sell for MSRP or less here soon.
I just bought a 2024 Trd Pro and it is different from the 23 model. Those wilder peaks they are not the ones you get at Discount tire these are a lesser version. I had duratracs on my 22 TRD Offroad and the dealership let me swap them out. They have very little tread on purpose. My upper control arms are different they are red with TRD stamped on them. I have rhino liner and a couple of other things. But they are runners supper smooth lots of power. Do like it alot!
Mr hardy thank you for your hard work once again. An I’d definitely go for the Toyota over the raptor I wonder wich is faster between this Toyota an the f-159 tremor?
Hands down I would take the TRD Pro over the Raptor! Sadly here in Miami every other person has a Raptor. Just in the community that I live in there are 3.
I’ve had all red interior Ram Rebel. It was cool for six months. Then I started hating it. Got rid of it man’s got a raptor. I will NEVER move away from raptors til I’m dead and cold. One thing that has never sit right with me me about Toyota trucks besides the previous tundra is the how long the trucks nose is. Drives me crazy ALL THE TIME. If they had shorter noses, I’d consider. Like the 2020-21 TRD pros. All that to say, the raptors stance is unmatched. No other pickup comes close. Everyone’s copying the Raptor. You can Never beat the OG 🐐
Hybrid is a Toyota specialty They are lasting They will last F the tow hooks None of you pretend off roaders will ever have the need The problem is Fit and finish Had one on order Came in Checked it out And walked away from that rattle trap Made in USA means nothing Made in Japan is the only place I want it made
I feel that is what the SR5 should have been, then the TRD PRO gets jacked up with like 550 HP and even bigger tires. Yea I mean why not, if Toyota can put all the TRD Pro stuff in the SR5 and at a reasonable cost. I really feel in the future, people are not going to want to spend 70,000 on a vehicle when in 10 years, they want to trade it in. Yea
Switched from a 22 TRD Pro to a 22 Raptor. The turning radius on the Tundra is terrible and although the Tundra has more torque on paper, the Raptor feels peppier with its lower gearing (3:31 vs 4:10).
It’s sad I’m a very big Toyota fan but this rollout of there new pro was a huge disappointment no tow hooks tons of crackly plastic’s and it should at least have come with a 35” tire they just can’t hang with the domestic
As a owner of a 2015 TRD PRO, I will never trade my truck for the 2022 The v8 is not there, all my mods lift, tires, reservoir shocks, not worth it But the Raptor R does! Except for the price 😂
I think this truck is 100% a "lifestyle" truck they don't want you taking it off road. It has tiny tires for its size and still no tow hooks. I hope they update it next model year.
I like Toyota. I want to like this truck, but it is the worst looking full size on the market. Interior and exterior. When you factor in the price of a well optioned trd pro and compare it’s features with other full size trucks, it just don’t stack up
Not to knock your video ben, I love the last gen tundra. This new tundra is quite undesirable. Its just not any kind of appealing. Any time i see one on the road, i have to do a double take to see if its a tundra or taco. I say that if toyota would’ve at least offered last gen powertrain on this new platform, it would make it easier to accept the aesthetic failures. Cause this new one is ugly AF.
No front tow hooks. LOL! Unbelievable. They went from a real pickup to liberal grocery getter when they removed the tow hooks. The Tundra is now known as the pvssy of half ton trucks. Great move, Toyota.
Don't forget the new tundra has a lot of problems with the check engine light coming on the you tuber RANT-N-RAVE bought a 2023 trd pro only had 286 miles on it then he got a check engine light truck wouldn't start had to have it towed there junk with the new turbos that's just the truth sorry
Sorry...but, I'm a Toyota guy, and even I know the TRD Pro Tundra has never been near as good as a Raptor. Toyota fails in that category, even more so with independent suspension on all corners.
Was looking to upgrade to a new truck but 'market adjusted prices' have driven me off. Assuming that calms down over next couple/few months, I plan on ordering a TRD Pro. Thanks for the review. Cheers,
Wow, that truck looks good! thanks Toyota for not slapping a black interior in another truck. The red interior really pops and looks sporty.
I wished the TRD Pro had underseat storage, auto 4wd and tow hooks. I can live without tow hooks but having underseat storage and auto 4wd would have been nice.
Also, the fit and finish is not up to par given the high price.

Comparison is easy to choose for that price. I think even the zr2 would be more offroad for the price
You got a great price on that Raptor.. Brighton Ford had a 2022 Raptor fully loaded for $84k with 3k miles a few weeks ago.
Best part about this truck is the $15k dealer markup and the instant negative equity!
Thanks for the video I see a lot of comments about huge dealer markups. My dealer in Spirit Lake Iowa has told me on a couple different occasions they don’t markup past MSRP. The title got me going 🤣 especially when the yota don’t even have tow hooks
Do you plan on getting stuck man or what? Lol
That’s a beautiful truck !!! Would get that way before getting a Ford 😅. Great video Ben 👍
Dealerships in Iowa are finally getting inventory for the lots to test drive. Nice seeing the different options available on different models. This is a very cool truck. Wish Toyota made more of them.
Im excited to see this in the new Trail Hunter trim Toyota is rolling out. Maybe they will offer tow hooks…
How the first truck ever left the factory without them completely baffles me.
That trim with the black exterior and red interior is exactly what I'm looking for
Ben, in your opinion, which truck is better between the TUNDRA TRD PRO or F150 Tremor (402A)?
great video. I would go Tundra.
Look again... There is no rear under seat storage on the Pro due to the hybrid battery...
Also, the Raptor and TRD Pro are not very comparable. Instead, compare the Tremor package and TRD Pro.
Idk if the Starbucks joke flys anymore, you see more work trucks stop by them than before. Still made me lol 😂
Ya, and if you see the metros getting out of these trucks walking into Starbucks you would laugh too. It’s their attempt to grasp manhood with their truck wearing loafers 🤣
There’s no under seat storage in the TRD-PRO that’s where the battery is located.
Thanks, forgot
Who the f cares
This is a cool truck. If the price difference between this and the Raptor was $20k, then of course I would definitely get this, but if I could ever find a Raptor for MSRP, I would get the Raptor hands down. Or a TRX!

Agreed.

The Tundra TRD Pro does not have rear under seat storage, because that's where the battery is for the hybrid engine.
My favorite pickup truck! Good video Ben.
No underseat storage. You loose ALL of it on the hybrid models the batteries are in there.
Thank you
The TRD Pro Is Luxurious. It Is A Must Off-Road Worthy Red Seat Belts Which Is My Favorite Color That's Crazy You Wouldn't Even Expect That.
There is no storage under the backseat because the is where the battery is for the electric motor.
Tow hooks should be there but for now there are bumpers that have them u can change out
How does a 4 wheel drive leave the factory without them.. SMH..
They price and mark up these trucks so that the middle class can afford to get one 15 years down the line😂
I have a 2023 TRD PRO hybrid on route. I asked about a lift kit and they told me it would be $8000 Canadian for a lift for this truck.
I love the Wildpeaks, happy to see they come standard on the Pro. FYI that red thing next to the skid plate is the TRD sway bar :) Maybe these will sell for MSRP or less here soon.

Ben is right, Raptor owners are starbuck sippers
I absolutely HATE the twin turbo V6 and hybrid, but absolutely love everything else about it
Still no tow hooks I do like the look though
Under seat storage isn't on hybrid models. That's where the battery lives
The only problem is nobody sells the trucks at msrp anymore. The markups are between 10k and 20k
Mr hardy thank you for your hard work once again. An I’d definitely go for the Toyota over the raptor I wonder wich is faster between this Toyota an the f-159 tremor?
Probably pretty close
Tires are not 'W' rated as this was released only for the TRD PRO. The manufacturer does offer this tire in a 'W' rating.
Love your reviews Ben, new sub here!
Hands down I would take the TRD Pro over the Raptor! Sadly here in Miami every other person has a Raptor. Just in the community that I live in there are 3.
It be cool to see the TRD Pro on 35s be cool
Had to make a choice and chose this over the Raptor. 😊
Do you know when you be able to put in a order for the 24 Toyota tundra platinum
It would looked way better with the headliner in black with the red leather seats.
I’ve had all red interior Ram Rebel. It was cool for six months. Then I started hating it. Got rid of it man’s got a raptor. I will NEVER move away from raptors til I’m dead and cold.

I like the 1797 but this trd pro is nice
Ppl who drive picks ups esp lifted! Don’t even tow😂 most are 5’8 too
Can you manually turn the DRL’s off ?
About $21k overpriced in my opinion. But it will last longer than any American truck unfortunately 😮
No it won’t with this garbage hybrid powertrain
@@S58985 right 😂
@@S58985 my 2013 Prius in the garage still purring like day one. Toyota knows hybrid better than anyone
Hybrid is a Toyota specialty
They are lasting
They will last

The problem is
Fit and finish
Had one on order
Came in

I approve of the title. Or at least its attitude.
5.1 mpg?
If this was closer to $60k I'd buy one in a heartbeat but almost 70 msrp is just a bit much.
Exactly.at that price it competes with tremor, ZR2, and almost a raptor, which all have better features and better looks imo
There’s no rear under-seat storage. That’s the battery.
Very cool truck for a Toyota tundra love it
If money was no object, then the Raptor. Since Raptors involve absurd markups, then TRD Pro it is.
Im sipping starbucks eith oatmeal cream, 2005 tacoma sitting on 250k in the driveway. 4runner or tundra is next
I can't believe I'm saying this but that's a decent price in 2023.
It’s a nice truck but you’re talking about like $1300 a month. Like what the hell man
These titles are for sure going to hurt a couple of snowflakes in the comments section, and I'm all here for it 🤣🤣Great video as always ben!
Your comment about snowflakes hurt my feelings
Switched from a 22 TRD Pro to a 22 Raptor. The turning radius on the Tundra is terrible and although the Tundra has more torque on paper, the Raptor feels peppier with its lower gearing (3:31 vs 4:10).
It is called digital camo! 😏
Omg omg, he called us sissies. - Sissies
How long is the warranty on those batteries?
10 years or 150k miles, whichever comes first
Why not just get a power wagon for the price? Should fall in the middle of them both in price.
It’s sad I’m a very big Toyota fan but this rollout of there new pro was a huge disappointment no tow hooks tons of crackly plastic’s and it should at least have come with a 35” tire they just can’t hang with the domestic

Can you do a video on the 23 platinum
Yes
More realistic comparison is to a f150 tremor. Raptor is a class above the pro.
I want this truck so bad and yes capstone is definitely not as sexy at trd pro.
Hmmmmmmm off road and no front two hooks Toyota must be quite confident they won’t get stuck
2023 Toyota Tundra CrewMax Hybrid TRD PRO 4X4!
Raptor all day!
GOOD REVIEW MY DUDE 👍BUT PLEASE SHAVE YOUR STARTING TO LOOK LIKE A CAVEMAN

I think this truck is 100% a "lifestyle" truck they don't want you taking it off road. It has tiny tires for its size and still no tow hooks. I hope they update it next model year.

Beast of a truck, but all said and done you're probably look at at least 100k
A hood scoop and gloss grill would work well with the trd pro
Not to knock your video ben, I love the last gen tundra.

I don’t know which looks worse. The interior or exterior of this truck. Toyota needs to fire whoever was in charge of the design of this
I think it looks amazing. Way better looking than GMC and FORD people have different taste I guess
@1:39 you're doing a review and you dunno what these are? They are called the sway bar.
I don't see 14K worth of stuff to make me trade my 22 Trail Boss for one!
Yeah I'm not paying 80k plus for this
