I broke all my ribs on left side, fracture in lower spine, compression spinal fracture, internal bleeding, broken foot, deep gashes in knees from dash, cut through neck/hips due to seatbelt, and cuts/bruises all over due to severe 65mph wreck. Car ran stop sign. I slammed into him. I was not smiling. US no longer treats pain. I got 1-5mg lortab and nothing else. Also left hospital in back brace but no pain relief. Cried daily for 8 weeks. So much pain could barely breath with broken ribs. Couldn't walk either. Took over 6 months to heal. Spinal compression fracture destroyed my back for life. Was a brutal wreck. Pain relief would have made it much easier. Wouldn't have cried so much. Ridiculous. They don't even give pain relief to cancer patients anymore either unless you get lucky. My moms oncologist no longer treated pain. We went to 5 different doctors trying to find one to help her. The cancer was throughout her body. She couldn't stand or walk. Was hard getting her in the car and out and use a wheelchair going to see multiple doctors. She only had two months left. Finally found doctor willing to treat her pain then had to deal with pharmacy making it difficult every refill. She went days without pain relief all the way up to her death last August. When 2016 CDC pain relief guidelines came out it destroyed pain relief in the US. CDC, FDA, and DEA is now our doctor. They decide if you get relief. Even major surgeries get tylenol only. Also insurance decides if you deserve it. 90% of doctors no longer treat pain so its impossible to find a doctor willing. They fear DEA arresting them. Look up *American Pain and Disability Foundation.* End stage children can't even get pain relief now. The advocates attend appts to find doctor willing to help a child. They've saved hundreds of kids. But can take many months and many doctor appts to find one willing to help. Heartbreaking children suffer when its so easy to treat. Intractable pain without treatment is a death sentence. Pain can turn chronic if not treated. Suicides have increased 250% due to untreated pain. We've lost thousands and even have lost many advocates. I have a friend with cancer all over and two months left. She can't even find a doctor willing to treat her pain. Its so heartbreaking.
