Those of us who lived on Namirembe remember you Tezra as kids that were protected by JJAJJA.Uncle Moses was our friend.I wish I could meet you.We celebrate the courage that your dad exhibited during those trying moments. His music was and will always be the best to both enjoy and remember!
Oh yes, my sweet Jajja was indeed a mother hen, protected her kids and us her grandchildren always, may God rest her soul in peace.❤ "Namirembe road awo, Ewa muzeeyi oyo" as her son sang. May they both rest in peace.
BAMBI THIS LADY HAS BROUGHT ME TO EMOTIONS! I REMEMBERED HER FATHER'S SONGS IN 1988 WHEN I WAS 6YEARS IN P.2.THANK GOD SHE IS STANDING IN HER FATHER'S GAP.GOD BLESS YOU MR FRANK. W FOR BRINGING SUCH PEOPLE INFRONT OF CAMERAS.
This was a great man never-mind a great musician. It is also evident in the beauty and expression of this wonderful woman, Tezra. This is a very profound interview.
Well done Tezra.I now see your father and his legacy.I so much want to thank you for posting all the songs of your father. When I listen to Tezra I thank God that Lutaaya's children are doing fine.May God bless all his children.I love you Tezzie.how is Lennon? He needs to visit Uganda too.
In my opinion, he is one of a handful few "really musicians" Uganda has ever had. He was gifted both as an instrumentalist, an accomplished vocalist and a highly imaginative Composer. For those that could doubt this, please do listen to: "Alone, Nkowoola, Empisazo, Anifa, Nazza gwaki , Osobo otya, etc. Believe me not; since his demise, Uganda has never identified a musician of an equal calibre. Lutaaya was and still is a class apart even compared with the current Ugandan Musicians.
Philly was an Angel with a short term purpose to fulfill which he did successfully and returned to his maker, we shall always enjoy the music trend he set for us as Musicians .
Thank u Tezra Lutaaya, am honoured 2 learn our hero left children who still keep the candle of the fight against HIV/AIDS burning. This is a testimony your father who was a hero in fight against HIV/AIDS still lives. God bless u Tezra, I love u so much. Greet your other siblings. Lutaaya remains my / our hero...!
Philly died just after I had done my PLE.My father had separated with my mum who was at the time an AIDS patient. She suffered so much and was retrenched from her government job and died in 1993 after enduring the unbearable pain and stigma of the time .Tezra's story mirrors mine

Tezra, your father is one of Uganda's greatest heroes ever. He had love for everyone including those he didn't know. I love him. I always have high hope that he is in God's presence. God bless the soul of Philly Bongole Lutaya.
Philly was a real hero coz there was too much stigma for people who had this disease but he stood like a man and announced it, u may realize that even up to now people fear to come openly with all the sensitisation rip bongole

Lutaaya died, when i was around 7 years, i remember very well, after Lutayaa my Dady past on era Aids, hmmm in masaka so many people died including my father, rest in peace our parents
In 1990/1/2, I was in primary school. I remember participating in a play called "the riddle". It is a shame, it is 2023 and Ugandans are still dying of HIV/AIDS. Not much has changed except improved treatment. To the children whose parents died of HIV/AIDS, I hope and pray things turned out well. The stigma back then was a little too much. Stay safe!
True dat, God chose him as a sacrifice to enable people know more about the H.I.V syndrome. Because of that he is forever going to be in many peoples memories and his music will always sound new and get more listenership till the end of our lives. Rest in peace Legend Philly Lutaaya and well done Tezra Lutaaya for continuing to shine more light on the plight of AIDS.

Ugandan yougth are living in hopeless life .. I mean someone can't sleep empty stomach where there's a person who can give some money that's where the challenges are. Will you change this mindset of fearing pregnancies than HIV?? I think it wl take time to sensitise the community. There are areas like Ghettos ,islands and boarders where long distances truck drivers stage.. Evn our leaders they don't care .. I want to take this opportunity to thank Hon.Dr Elioda he has tried his level best bt the hopeless community is bringing his projects down.. I wish u wl..
