V Rising - Can you use a controller on V Rising? Does V Rising have controller support?

- So you've probably been having a blast playing V Rising, but the big question that nobody's asking is "Does V Rising Support Controller?" or "Can I use a controller on V Rising?". Well it seems that V Rising doesn't have any native support for a controller, however, using the steam controller mapping you can actually play V Rising with a controller quite comfortably!

I'm an old school gamer back from the intellivision days..I'm a hardcore controller guy...I just got into steam I never would have bought this game if I knew I couldn't use a controller... Going to give it a go thanks for the input ❤️🙏

Thanks for this! I was hesitant about buying the game because nowadays I prefer to play on the Steam Deck, but I now I ll give it a try.
I wish more games would learn from the FFXIV inventory management system.
so pointless to not offer full controller support as not everyone can play with a mouse and keyboard due to health issues and other reasons.
I would go as far as calling it disability discrimination in some cases.

I reeeeally wish this game had official controller support. I CAN play wit ha keyboard, but I'm definitely not as good with it. A controller is much more my style. While I like this game so far (I have put maybe 5-6 hours into it, I find the keyboard+mouse is a little cumbersome for my taste. I played Diablo 3 with keyboard and mouse at launch and it was okay but then when it came out for consoles and had full controller support I enjoyed it a lot more.
howdo you get the reticle to disappear? mine stays on when using gamepad?
Been on the fence about buying this, because I've got an aya neo and wasnt sure if it would work on the device.
But hearing this and hearing about remapping stuff I'm definitely gonna give it a go
I using xbox series x controller right thumb stick button for mouse pointer have problems it stay where your previous click or it goes on corners of your monitor and it stay there so when u in the middle of game boss fight it stay at that detections that why casting a magic is always miss out ...if we could make a circle around the character that mouse pointer stay in that circle zone it much easier...i always lock my mouse pointer on top of character so it easy to hit which aver direction u hit 380°
Thank you for the video. I have a question. While moving your character and accessing abilities is much easier and smoother with a controller, It is extremely difficult to target your character with right stick. I wish there was a target lock option in the game. Do you have a suggestion for that?

I’m playing on GeForce now on Xbox, what is the NAME of your config so I can look it up? Because I can’t import your configuration with the link
Is their anyway to lower the look sensitivity? I don’t see it in the options menu
Go into the joystick move setting in steam and then additional settings then you can adjust the sensitivity there
The horse manoeuvres are very difficult for me. I'm gonna try the controller and see how it works.
Does the controller gameplay work for you? I want to see how it is before buying the game

erm.. maybe go into steam and go to the controller settings and browse community configs. I would have thought it would have been usable on both ps4 and xbox

hey couple of questions. Im using your setup with an XBOX controller. In order to move camera i must keep L2 button (LT Button) constantly pressed or the mouse will appear. Also what is the bind for F button?
never mind i had to press the R analogue once and the mouse disapears

right there in the comments my friend. It's a steam link so you'll need to copy it into your browser. Or just browse community configs on steam for the config
What's a good USB for this on a pS4 controller cuz the ones I use all end up falling out of the controller after extended use.
Personally I use Anker brand for my USB but if they keep falling out then maybe your port is a bit loose?

Can you manage inventory by pressing the directional button or stick or is it difficult to use as in Lost Ark or Diablo 3 pc?
You would need a full script to do that. At the moment you will just use free cursor mode.
I understand that u mapped the keyboard keys to a controller through steam, does it work with regular steam controller setups like xbox360 configs or ps configs?
If you mean does it have native controller support in game? No. Gotta map the input. Should work any steam supported controller though

Does anyone know where I have to go in steam to do this? It would have been nice if this person would have included the steps how to get there in the video.
Add-on: Question, does the controller need to plugged in order for it to work or once you configure it, you can play wireless?
It was a little out of the scope of the video, but to answer your question you need to shift tab to the steam overlay and in the top right you should see a link to controller settings. You may need to enable controller config for your specific controller from the main steam settings first, and the answer to the wireless question that depends entirely on the controller and do you have a dongle/Bluetooth capability between controller and pc.

yeah it should work. if not go to steam client then steam->settings>controller->general controller settings and make sure you got the xbox config support enabled

How are you rotating the map on controller?
Essentially it's loccking right click down and moving the mouse with the thumbstick
@@BlackoutGamingChannel Cool got it rotating but it is doing it so fast and just snapping. Is there a way to slow down the rotation instead of it just snapping 90degree each time?
It shouldn't be snapping at 90 degrees. You need it set as a joystick mouse in steam and reduce the sensitivity if it's too high (from memory)

You never opened the menu with the controller, guessing that doesn't work.
you can bind any button to the gamepad. in this case its the controller's "back" button

@@BlackoutGamingChannel Yeah you answered my question. I never knew that steam implemented controller mapping. When I was a youth we had to use joy2key.
LAZY DEVELOPERS MADE ME WASTE MY MONEY ON A "TOP-DOWN" GAME WITH NO CONTROLLER SUPPORT?
CHEAPER games have PERFECT controller support & IF the damn "community" can make controller support for a developers game then the DEVS are Literally LAZY AF.
