    These are very informative and interesting to watch! A tiny suggestion would be to put a post-it or something in each window so the viewer would know which one is "ARCHITECT" and which one is "LIFESTYLE" no matter what point you are in the video.

    Great series of videos Jeff. I have never learned as much than I have from you. I visited your store last February and I wish I could use your services. Too bad I am in San Antonio. This video gives me valuable pointers in terms of what to look for between those aluminum clad Pella series. One thing I would still like to know is how would you compare Pella lifestyle and architect series to the Marvin ultimate series?

    • @HoustonWindowExperts

      Thank you for watching and your comment. I'd rank them as follows.
      1. Marvin $$$$
      2. Pella Architect $$$
      3. Pella Lifestyles $$

    Jeff, please help. I have Pella designer windows from a la 1996. Bottom wood part of the sash has rotten due to seal breaking between the glass and the aluminum cladding. Will Lifestyle sash be compatible with Designer series window? I want to just order the sash, keep everything else and replace the sash only. Please advise. Hard to get an answer on this. Thank you.

    How does Pella Lifestyle compare to Marvin Elevate? We have a mid century home that we're renovating and are looking for thin profile contemporary looking windows. Our contractor likes Pella because of a better dealer / presence in the area. However, Pella seems more traditional overall than Marvin?

    • @HoustonWindowExperts
      @HoustonWindowExperts  2 роки тому +2

      Mike, thank you for watching and for your question. The Pella lifestyles window is much more traditional than the Marvin Elevate. I would definitely stick with Marvin if you're looking for a more contemporary look. I would not be too concerned about not having much support for Marvin in your area. Their windows rarely need any help once they are installed.

      @@HoustonWindowExperts Thank you for the quick response. What are your thoughts on the aluminum cladding on Pella vs fiberglass on Marvin?

    • @HoustonWindowExperts
      @HoustonWindowExperts  2 роки тому

      I do like fiberglass but comparing these two would not be fair. The fiberglass is going to come in very limited colors and have a different Sheen and finish on it than what you would get out of an aluminum exterior. Also, the profile is going to be more traditional on an aluminum product than it would be on fiberglass. I guess it depends on what look you're going for as to what product you would select. They both are very durable and offer the same warranty. If you're looking for a great window company near you, check out this website we created to help people find someone near them. JeffsList.com

    Hi Jeff. Really appreciate your educating methods. I need just 2 sliding windows for a condo and wanted to know which Pella line to consider. I live in NY. What are the 3 top tiers? How is impervia vs the Architect line for the NY climate? What should I be expecting as far as price for double to triple-pane argon low e glasses installed for either of these. My measurements are about 69 in wide by 56 inches high and the other is 69in wide by 48 inches high.

    • @HoustonWindowExperts
      @HoustonWindowExperts  Рік тому

      Either of those series would work craving your application. It's just a matter of preference for what look you're after. Since they all use the same glass, it's just a question of which frame do you like.
      To make sure you're being treated fairly, I would get three quotes from three separate Andersen dealers.

      They do not any longer, it had very low volume and was awkward looking with the 2 blinds and where they would stack. Many people choose to put 1 horizontal grid in the center to give the double hung look while getting the blind feature.

      Pella has a franchise store component and then they sell through professional channels. At this time, they do not have a certification process. That does not guarantee your installation experience either way. I've seen certified installers of many brands that didn't know what they were doing, and I've seen excellent installers that were not certified. Always do your homework on the installer.

    What I find out that I'm not too impressed with this Pella window is the outside of that window if you push that flex track you will see the wood that can get water in it very easily.
    Also, the bottom part of the flex track is over 1/4” opening that will be the perfect house for the spires.
    I hope that they fix those 2 things that I noticed on new windows

    A terrible window - every one in my house leaks. Plastic wrap with duct tape would have provided better protection than Pella windows. They have caused considerable damage to my home, with no remorse from Pella. If you see a positive review it is either less than a year old, or in a climate with no rain. Check out the class action suits against Pella.
