For the short amount of time that Death Row Records was around they made history that forever be a big part of hip hop and music.
That's a lot of record companies when you look at it, especially predominately black ones...
Yeah
In a way you could say Death Row was the WCW of Hip Hop. Rapid rise to the top, short but dominant peak followed by a rapid descent to a shell of its former glory.
Snoop Dogg is trying to make history again with death row records, he wants to make it into an NFT label and only release albums in the meta-verse. he removed the entire death row catalog off of streaming.
Yes for the negativity and evil... (evil: bullying, crimes and murder)
Dogg Food- 2.5 million copies
Doggy Style- 7.1 million by 1995 or 9 million records as of 2008

Nu mixx Klazzics- 1.5 million copies
Against the grain- 200,000
15 years on death row- 300,000 copies
Death row had an impressive run, but greed and corruption ruined an empire that was doing better then most of the major record labels.
Wrong about All eyes on me, that album was certified diamond in 2010, not 2005
@@ducatarina8310 ?????? OH my bad It got my info out of 2005 vibe magazine the one with keisha cole on it, but they be wrong too, lol
@@ducatarina8310 15 million is very low number these are U.S. sales, I think death Row with Tupac in the lead sold 40 million copies in U.S. and 60 million worldwide, but No Limit Records sold 30 million records in 1998 alone, THAT'S INSANE!!!! TO PUT IT LIGHTLY
HERES HOW NO LIMIT STACKS UP.
1998-
My Balls and my word- 1,000,000
Life or death- 2,000,000
Charge it 2 the Game- 2,000,000
I got the hook up- 3,000,000
(in 3 months so it probably sold 4 or 5 million overall!!!! But imma stick with 3 mill.)
One in every Family- 1,500,000
She'll shocked- 480,000
(Mac's own mother said this album went platinum and his second album went gold) but for now I will stick with the 400,000)
Am I my Brother's Keeper- 785,000
Assassin - 600,000
The Game is to be sold, not to be told- 4,500,000
Game of Funk- 430,000
Give it 2'em Raw- 500,000 as of 2006
The Last Don- 4,400,000
These Wicked Streets - 500,000
Skys the Limit- 800,000
Major Players- 500,000 in 5 weeks
(It might have went platinum sometime after)
Guilty Until Proven Innocent - 500,000 shipped
Ghetto Organized - 500,000 in a month
(I heard it went platinum later)
Wise guys - 500,000
Black Mafia- 150,000
Memorial Day- 50,000
(This is heartbreaking because this is a damn good album)
Mama Drama- 2,800,000
We Can't Be Stopped - 1,000,000
Ghetto Fabulous - 2,900,000
No Limit Soldiers Collection - 500,000 copies.
This currently is 27 million copies but a commercial from 1999 said no limit sold 30 million records in the US
Before I recently did some digging beyond Wikipedia because you have to take what it says with a grain of salt, I remember something , No limit records dropped 23 or 24 records in 1998 but the number seed too low to me, and it seems I'm not alone.
Puff daddy remember - 39
Bird man- 36
Height the great- 36
A few of my friends remember - 36
I remember - 35
It seems there is different accounts then history is telling 🤔 is
Could this be a MANDELA EFFECT
@@ducatarina8310 2014
@@carlozduerson2935 it's like any organization and it starts up top and that's why death row went down.
I fw these mini documentaries🤟🏽
Facts💯
They hit hard
we need more!!!
Every time he take 2 or more days to post ik he making one of these 🔥
Check out swamp storiez
I’ve heard this story a million times and it never gets old.
The Story of DR, & Docs about Pac & Biggie never get old.
@@quintendayries7197books, docs, all of it yeah. You’re right.
i thought Diddy and Suge would be in a grave by now from all the lives they ruined
We'll Suge is doing some time so he basically is dead.
I remember in 2009 you were able to cop well over 50+ unreleased Death Row albums on blog sites. Thats where I first heard Chronic II Poppas got a Brand New Funk. Miss those days
That's not official
No this is all fake shut the hell up ain't no chronic 2 Dre NVR worked on a chronic 2 u gullible as he delete this comment u fool
The d.o.c is also a founder of death row but he is a forgotten founder
This new generation don’t understand how powerful Death row was
Pure Facts
Powerful at killing rappers yeah
@@tyjandrews they was powerful
For real! They ran the early and mid 90's
@@yodathehutt1557 ya shi was crazzy snoop dog was Carrying the label when he droped doggy style then later on pac would come suge so stupid but I guess he can say he lived those memories with pac and not everyone did
"can't put a price tag on piece of mind" - dr.Dre
Bringing the street mentality into the music industry killed death row
With help from Jimmy and them
It killed the feeling of Rap. No more Heavy D’s, Slick Ricks, Kool Mo Dees. Just buster ass cry babies pretending to be something they not.
Yup the gangster shit got them big numbers and cred for awhile but ended up being their downfall too.
Yep. They're the ones who bought gangsta rap, now it has bad influences on youth these days.
Wtf u talking about steet is always a part of the music & entertainment business
11:54 thats Ray Liotta not “Alex roberts”
LOL at you putting a picture of Ray Liotta in there as Alex Roberts
11:50 is that Ray Liotta ? 😂
Damn it took them just 4 years to fuck up everything.
Love when u do these vids. U got the perfect narrator voice too lol I can listen to ur vids all day
Just what I needed on this cloudy, snowy day in Minnesota. Another Yassine mini-doc🤘🏼🤘🏼
Death row been passed around more than Yung Berg transformer chain on that dusty neck tour🤣🤣
That ain’t “Alex Roberts” that’s Ray Liotta
I thought I was bugging
11:52 aint that my boy Ray? lol regardless great vid ty
Ray Liotta is not Alex Roberts bro
Big and pac were like pawns in the whole thing. They were kings but treated like pawns 😔
Bad boy and death row is the best record labels of all time
I guess Cash Money doesn’t exist ?
@@marquisewalston377 not better
Aftermath
Bad Boy? Nah man...
no limit rocks
Vanilla ice at one point was dealing with Suge too
Back with the informatives 💯💯💯
When pac died death row died
My man these mini docs are your THING!! Keep ‘em coming!
Tupac is not DR. He was only with them 9 months out of his life. Some Pac fans wish that yall will stop mentioning his name with DR. He is from Shock G and digital underground. He ain't from DR.
It ended when suge wanted to be seen not heard he was supposed to just be the man behind the records that's it
Maybe
... Is That Henry Hill ? 😭
Snoops handlers own whats left, not snoop.
Only watched 1 min… but Pac died, Suge went to jail, Snoop flee with his tail between his legs and Dre left before all of this.. what did you expect ?
My problem is snoop make himself seem like a saint
Fax this dude Really Put A Angel Halo Over Snoop Like He’s Innocent Like 2Pac Didnt Hate Snoop Dogg The Month Year 2Pac Was Alive 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
11:51 Alex Roberts looks a hell of alot like ray Liotta 😂 lol But seriously I definitely enjoyed and appreciated the video👍
Why did they show Ray Liota??? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Why did you show a Picture of the actor Ray Liotta lol of Alex Roberts talking in the article??
Facts! Probably the same reason why he said 2Pac shot up a studio Biggie happened to be in. He doesn't know shit.
@@peaceispriceless6051 Lol
Looking back they had a short life span but, at the time it felt like they were on top forever. When they split that was Master P nem time to just take over ! at least for a minute.
This is going to sound strange but I remember No Limit Records being more successful then what they say,
I was in FYE back in 1999 two days before Christmas and I went in the store with my sister so she could buy a Mariah Carey CD and I bent down to tie my shoe and saw an album that is said to be a cancelled project from No Limit records- It was from Porsha- I seen it with my own two eyes.
Why is there a picture of Ray Liotta in the vid I’m stumped
Rip 2pac 👑❤️🩹😢🙏🙏🙏🙏🕊🕊🕊😭
To many street politics having it ran like a gang
If ez took out Suge, 2 Pac wouldn't have gone to def row and probably would still be alive & ez too👻. Damn biggie would be too. It's like if u change one action in the past it affects da present (this like some ol Quantum Leap shhhh)
Sorry but that’s not what have happened lol
As still some what young hip pop head for those times i knew a lil this and that i appreciate this cold heartily
I fuck with the content! Keep it up bro✊
SB: Are you ever going to Finish the 48 Laws series?
That series went hard
2pac let off shots in the studio Biggie happened to be in???🤔
Same thing I was thinking. This guy needs to tighten his facts up.
Forever Great Music ❤️
This was different and dope
Definitely Ray Liotta
Great video
Good story 👏🏽 tell anybody don’t know dis
*side note:
Biggies murder IS solved and his mom received a settlement. ...look it up.
Arabian Prince was in the group too
Only question, why’d you use a pic of Ray Liotta for Alex Roberts?
"The Sad Death of Row Records"
💎 gems as always🤛🏾
4:18 shout out The Unknown DJ he did good job with Compton's Most Wanted.
Congrats on the no jumper stuff vro
Great Doc
Nah the halo over snoop scared me
Why did he put a picture of ray liotta when he said alex roberts
They had the money train going 🚂 💰 💵 what messed it up was going to Las Vegas for the Tyson fight things went wrong from that point
Going to Vegas to watch the fight wasn’t a bad thing. The only bad thing was the fight after the fight.
Shoulda put the devil horns on all 4 that’s who they sold out to
💯💯💯
1996 the best year ever to be alive. I was in 8th grade.
I was 6 😭😭😭
That NFT label bs is dumb. It’s just an inconvenience for the listener.
A couple days ago I saw Snoop Dogg using death row to sell wine... I don't think he's going to do much with the company
It might be more than just a music company this time. More like a multimedia conglomerate
Man you been on a run of straight 🔥🔥🔥🔥
didnt Harry-O co create?
Good docu!
Take that Ray Liotta picture down
2oac never let off any shots. HE was shot 5 times
1.5m in start up money is a boatload of cash back then
Check out "Welcome to Death Row" for more info on this subject 👍
You forgot to mention snoop dogg dropped his last album on death roe records
11:51 is a picture of Ray Liotta not Alex Roberts 🤥
Petey Pablo🤣🤣🤣
Snoop Dogg is managing DR poorly.
as a independent producer man
reason why i only partner with them but not join them
that Alex Robert article really showed nothing has changed it is getting worst
What if I told you none of these artists were ever actually good?
Alex Roberts looks like Ray Liotta
No it was because suge was trying to be gansta instead of business
Only the fact that he’s dropped 6 albums in 2022. 8 in the last 2
Suge Knight had said that tupac is not dead on TMZ
I'd say death row had no chance of staying on top.
2Pac signing with Death Row was the day Death Row went to crap and never recovered.
Facts 💯
I don’t really think so. AEOM did big numbers during that time. After Pac’s demise, that was when everything turned complete crap.
@@IkennaKonkwo2-lz8lj Death Row was living on borrowed time as early as 1995. It was clearly rudderless after the Murder Was The Case soundtrack. No real direction. 80% of the roster was interchangeable. Death Row from 1995-1996 existed solely on the momentum accrued from 1992-1994. It was terminal by early 1995 and nothing could save it.
Insomniac wide awake has a whole UA-cam channel about death row and tupac conspiracies and he has some good ones but he makes multiple videos that are the same with a different thumbnails he be getting them views though
Yeaaah boy Akil the MC
@ 11:50 Why is there a picture of Ray Liotta here? lol
Love the podcasts man keep it up
Tha Doggfather album didn't tank / flop... It went #1 and sold over 3 million possibly 4 million worldwide. With over 2.5 million sold in the U.S. alone
Don't forget vanilla ice money too lol🤫🤔
The sad death of shady records next
Should called it “Future Shock”..
Death Row is back tho! 🔥
Not on the same level of course but still
I was in 8th grade with the chronic came out
Snoop dogg did that so he can try to make sure all the artists get their respective royalties and that’s why he’s gonna make the streaming app and whatever album or song is streamed that money is given to the artist since suge fucked over most of the artists out of their cash
Wordddd...
Exactly 💯
Thug life forever ♾ amen 🙏 & god bless 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I don't think Snoop is going to do anything but lose or sell it off.
Soon you’ll be making a video abt the “death of Quality Control”. I think that labels gona end terribly for the musicians still there now that it’s been sold…
I think wen suge get out. He going visit snoop 🙃
That’s my record label punk. 👀
Homie forgot the outroe
Being a big hip hop fan for years .. Eazy should of done it im sorry to say everyone would of been so much better off
Death Row ain't gonna big as it used to be
