    I alway wanted to be a novelist but I felt it was too late for me. I wrote my first book at the age of 48. Got a novel published at 51. Been publishing books since. Sure, I still get rejected but I’m doing it. Have another novel coming out next month. It’s never too late. Mel speaks the truth.

    • @vickibazter3446
      @vickibazter3446 7 місяців тому

      Try to find a known chiropractor who has a track record of helping people status post failed back surgery. They are out there. Also, Med Beds are coming. Keep the faith.

    • @intherockies
      @intherockies 7 місяців тому

      My dad had 7 back surgeries and would get up and walk as soon as the doctor said it was Ok. He kept his weight within normal range because extra weight especially in the mid section puts a lot of pressure on the back. Maybe you could research the top rated surgeons for your condition. Even if you have to go to another state it would be worth it if you could get better. If another surgery is not an option then there are pain devices that can be used. Pain devices can be outside the body or inserted through procedures. Some people get relief from a back brace too. Use a combination of methods to get the most relief you can. Unfortunately most of us live with some pain whether it be from arthritis, injury, or a million other reasons. I've actually thought of moving to an area with very little barometric changes because my body can feel when the rain chances are high without listening to the forecast.
      I hope some of these suggestions help. I'll say a prayer for you.

    Yes! David Goggins and Andrew Huberman are both men I admire. Both men, but David in particular, focus on 'action' and 'consistency.' Those two attributes; action and consistency, are not only the answer to achieving goals, but also apply to relationships with ourselves and others. Actions speak louder than words, and consistency builds trust. Amazing messages.

    Hey! Mel, I don't kno if you read comments or not, but as you disclosed the fact, that it's always our past self with whom we rage a war with, & the moment we fail to take actions because we don't feel like doing, that victim past self wins, tears rolled down my cheek & I cried silently, after this realization of my life.💞🌸
    A big Thankyou to you for sharing this & a big Thankyou to David goggins too.

    I agree we have to take action. But I am unsure about the constant fighting with oneself. It is just tiring at some point. It helped to get started but for me does not work for sustainable movement. Far better I think is "you and you together" not "you against you". Like a well meaning grandmother who knows what is best and determined but lovingly says "come on, I know you don't like it, but we have to do this, trust me - you will feel better after".

    HELL YEAH!!!... David Goggins is FUCKING LIMITLESS!!!... as am I ... I can honestly and painfully say that I grew up in an environment and with a Father VERY similar to the way he did and how his Dad was... The beatings and everything... I was in the Army National Guard... And in Boot Camp they singled me out but because of My Physical Training (well conditioned) and I had a mouth on me... Lol... I'm saying this because I as well had PTSD from my childhood growing up and didn't even realize it until couple years ago... And I'm now 42... I have listened to his audiobook "Can't Hurt Me" a total of 7 times in the last year or so and just started his second audiobook book "Never Finished" for the second time... Check it these books they are a FUCKING Life changer

    So much Respect for him but I couldn’t get through the first chapter of his book. the audiobook was excruciating with the constant cursing. A little, I get it, do it myself and I’m not offended by it, but it’s constant, too much and unnecessary. It really takes away from the story and just over the top.

    I have an old voice that likes to hang up on me and say " Your gonna end up fat, frustrated and broke like your mother!". I've been speaking back to that voice MANY times a week. I don't even have to do it in the mirror anymore. " There's no room in me for failure ideas, being fat, lazy, having run-away little girl energy!" I say it to myself strongly. Then I listen to Mel Robbins, Joe Dispenza, Esther Hicks, Louise Hay, and others. Exercise and running to funky music. Fight the Power is a great song!

    I love listening to David Goggins also, Mel, and I read his book and he has overcome horrendous problems by taking action again and again and again.
    The Bible says that faith without works is dead, and this is a prime example. just wishing or hoping or blaming, or avoiding, will never bring the positive changes.
    In one of your prior podcasts, you mentioned how confidence is built every time you take action. You may not have been born with it, but as you build little victories, or as David would say “cookies in your cookie jar”, you were able to rise higher and overcome obstacles
    This is what I needed to hear today Mel. thank you!

    Where did the notion that you have to “serve others” come from?! Yes, from our hearts, we choose when and how to share and give, but there is no inherent obligation.
    And the biggest and most important takeaway from what Mail has shared here is for parents and adults who care for children. Take great care that you do not do things either subtly or overly to make them feel responsible for the feelings of adults around them - or for anyone in their lives! - as this is one of the seeds of the formation of a people-pleasing, or codependent, adult
