lol dai sglodion I didn’t realise the south welsh did that too, people stop having surnames and have nicknames based on where they’re from, what they do, what their hobbies are haha. There’s a guy I knew who was called Shon Felin to some as he was from felinheli
It’s the only way to name the zany locals! I think most people in the comments think we just chose a random Welsh word as a name so I’m glad you’ve got it haha! Happy New Year
What does sglodion mean? I’m Northern English-Scottish, so my Welsh knowledge is very limited.

This happened to me in Florida last year. In the carpark of Universal Studios, I was stood there with my Welsh dragon shirt on look down at the park..and I hear a 'Bore Da!' behind me, this entire flock of Welsh people. Turns out they live a valley over from us lmao.
Crazy isn’t it, it’s like we all have magnets in us :)

This is so true. I was on a boat, during a day trip, off the coast of Spain when I heard someone speaking Welsh. I went over to speak to them and found out that they knew my brother, who is a Baptist minister, and were members of his congregation.
That's amazing! Small world

Lol. This is a Welsh guy I know; in Red Square in Moscow on a hot summers day, packed with people......and he hears a Valley's voice and makes a bee-line toward them. Travelling on the Metro in Brussels at tea time on an ordinary week day, he hears the dulcet tones of a couple of lads from Swansea and again, makes off to speak to them. The thing is, the Welsh love to meet the Welsh when outside of Wales. - they have an in-built magnet that pick up a fellow countryman, 10 miles away :o) Great bunch of people and beautiful country.

I find it funny when I find Wales tourist tips on UA-cam, where they list like the basic things you should know. For example, basic greetings, the weather and good tourist spots. And the videos can range from being super accurate to the equivalent to someone who has never even heard of Wales!
