- The Chromecast with Google TV is a popular streaming device that was released in 2020, but it looks like Google could be preparing to launch a brand new streaming device in 2024. We don't have a whole lot of information about it yet, or if Google will actually release a new streaming device. But here's what we know so far.

Tested a chrome cast recently 1080 HD version. It performers well it beats the Roku in the uk.

I've got the standard Chromecast. It's a great device and runs smoothly. It charges with usb c so I got an extender and attached a 64gb SD card to it. Works perfectly. Great device. Much better than the fire stick.

I bought the Nvidia Shield (2019) and was so impressed with it, I bought a second one. The only thing I'd upgrade to is, a new upgraded version of the Nvidia Shield. I'd had Fire TV sticks and a Minix Neo U1 before buying the Shield, and now they're never used at all. The streaming device market is awash with cheap crap, and if my Nvidia Shields broke tomorrow, I'd go out and buy direct replacements. In short, the shield might be expensive, but you aren't wasting money on upgrades every 2 years or getting frustrated at the devices poor performance. There is no competition for the Shield. 😊

Swapped my fire sticks for chromecast with google tv about 3 months ago and so happy I did, I've got all the apps I want/need,fast enough for me and I like the lay-out, personal choice of course but anybody thinking of a cheap option from the fire stick I feel won't be disappointed 😁

Bought. Chromecast for my Daughter for Crimbo. She loves it. Betting than a Firestick imo. Got the 4k on offer in Dec for £24.99 👍
Really need something with plenty of storage and that can sideload apps. I won't hold my breath . I'm quite sure there will be some developers working on something, especially as Amazon seem to be pressing their self destruct button.
I have the cast only versions on every tv in my home, Makes streaming what I want on my tv easier and hassle free.
I've ditched the fire stick now and moved to a mini pc much more guts in it and very low power consumption,also is small enough to mount behind your tv etc.
I want a full fledged Google TV stream box from GOOGLE.
Got a new ONN...works like a champ...a few small issue but nothing that can be circumvented.

We need more official TV box's like the original fire TV box with a proper network port and decent specs.
It would be great if Google brought out a high end streaming device like the Nvidia Shield and FireCube with a good amount of storage and processing power with some USB 3.0 ports...keep up the good work my man.

I had a hard time driving over speed bumps? But I'm slowly getting over them.
I'm still using firestick but looking at the Chromecast as a replacement, I did get a Nvidia shield in December but returned it to Currys 2 days later as picture quality when watching sports or anything in fast motion was poor and didn't flow smooth it was jurky so went back to using the firestick.
Didn't even think of getting one of them to try 👍
The Chromecast does what I want it to do, I wish the memory was bigger, like 10g or more.
Hey Adam, thanks for the info. (FYI).... I want to let you know that I have been unable to comment on your channel for the last four or five videos. I see the comment window, I can click on it but when it flips to where other comments are below the video, there's nowhere to type a message. I can see everyone else's but I couldn't leave one. It's been months.
One Really good thing you get with the Chromecast is you can strip away Every App, no forced Bloatware, a really good and handy way to clear storage space
And yup, you just Cannot beat the Shield, as near to timeproof as you can get in this disposable age. The Tegra chip, man.....
Help adam the mouse in downloader is not working now on chromecast any idears it only goes from corner to corner when you try to download an app

They need to include an ethernet port. My WiFi on my ccwgtv randomly disconnects sometimes and I have to restart the router to connect it again.
The way Amazon is going any other options is a plus.

I have a Google tv if you set your vpn to usa you have different settings across the top left
If they start by boosting the storage space to 16gb then it may need to be looked at
Don't understand all these andriod devices don't need them if you have andriod tv?
Other than a 1st gen Firestick, I don't think they would be slow as sh*t would they Adam? They are are still supported devices, the older ones (e.g my 2nd gen Firestick) wouldn't be any slower now than they were in 2017 would they?

I’m certain I will pass. I have a couple Onn boxes and they run flawlessly especially on Ethernet not Wi-Fi. The Onn sticks runn good just no ability to add storage. Since they are discontinuing them there’s probably no update on the table to fix that. But they’re great for patio/bar b quing and summertime which isin’t far away. But I also have a couple shields and a cubes. I agree, show me some $200 new releases. And I’m in. Enjoyed your video…rock on.

They should just bite the bullet and put a box out at £80-100 with 4gb memory and 32-64gb storage (which is of course certified), has a couple of usb ports and isn't restricted or full of adverts. I think they'd destroy the rest of the market if they kept the price down.
The Onn 4K device (the one that you can only get at Walmart) is the best bang for the buck streaming device @ $20 IMO.
I wish they would release the Onn device in the UK too. Looks a cracking little device for the money. 🍻
