Beautiful bike. I received two weeks ago a Giant TCR Advanced 2 KOM size M with rim brakes (find the last bike in stock in an Italy shop) . It has the 105 groupset and I was very suprised to see that its weight is only 7.75 kg :). First upgrade that I did was to change the wheels with the already bought Campagnolo Zonda with GP5000 tyres ( 603 ligher that stock wheels...with tryres and cassette). I added the bottle cages (77 g) and a pair of Look Carbon blade pedals (234 g) and the actual weight is 7.46 kg.
I just bought the tcr advanced pro 1 rim brake for $3850 and was full ultegra including Crankset with dual power meter. Only 15.9 lb/ 7.21 kg. It’s really good deal.
I have this bike. Amazing value. Changed some parts for old ones I already had. Swapped the non series chainset for an Ultegra, swapped alloy bars for S-works bars and I already had the Giant SLR1 hookless wheels with Pirelli tyres, so installed them. Oh and a Fabric line carbon railed saddle. Bike is now 6.65kg in size L
I have the tcr advanced disc 2 pc with shimano 105 grouset. i was a bit disappointed with the weight despite being carbon frame. thanks for your input as I plan to upgrade at some point in the future hopefully I can get the weight down to as close as you were able to obtain.
@@montellanojavelosa6249 If you can upgrade to some light wheels and tyres, maybe some lighter groupset components and light stem/bars, you'll have a pretty lightweight bike for sure
I bought one of these and added ultegra cranks. Which saved over 300 grams. Size 58 with bottle cage, computer mount and pedals was about 17.9lbs exactly. The SLR 2’s are great too (Giant says 1545 grams btw) Easily could lower the weight with a lighter saddle and carbon handle bars. Oh and I switched to Schwalbe pro one TLE’s were also significantly lighter than then stock giant tires.
I like the TCR for not having the cables totally hidden away. Makes a quick cable change, which you have to do on a mechanical bike a lot easier. However, I see the need for complete integration for pros and wannabes. Maybe Giant can come up with something to please both sides.
@Pierre C Cheap compared to Specialized or Cervello yes true. I think no 2 brands deserve to be labeled as overpriced at the moment more than them. I took the plunge and went with Canyon for my latest bike and glad I did for the value.
@Pierre C you are kind of proving my point haha. Take a step back and just look at the price 3.7 grand. It’s a crazy amount of money but we seem to believe it’s good value just for a bicycle.
@Pierre C look for a brand that isn't fraught with faulty engineering recalls. S and ć are a bit notorious in that department. The recalls cost the consumer, not the corner cutting executives. Same reason you see mid-model run cost increases with no change to the model.

I don't really see PF on giant bikes to be a problem tho. My AnyRoad CoMax is 6 years old now, and the BB is still smooth af, and with no creaks obviously.
The main reason why PF BBs creaks is due to bad manufacturing and tolerance on the frames lmao. Brands like giant, merida who make their own frames don’t have problems with their BBs creaking. PF is lighter, stiffer a better solution for BBs, only reason big brand’s going back to threaded BBs is they can’t make a hole round or can’t be bothered to cut cost and make more profit.

@@GCPerformance18 I’ll have to look it up but something to do with the distance between shift points on the pre r8000 (r6800) front derailleurs being slightly different, which is what that older crankset was designed for. I’m enjoying the bike so far ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA My only real complaints are the brakes and the pedals. I feel like a bike designed for bigger people should have much larger pedals and more heavy duty brakes. I’ve only gotten two really good rides out of it, minimal downhill action, and the brakes feel like they’re already going out. A larger person has more momentum, so I think this wasn’t thought through very well. Also, I wear size 13-14 wide shoes. My feet cramp up on these pedals that are clearly made for smaller feet. Since I’m not a pro rider (and I don’t think many are who purchase this bike) I don’t think that the straps on the pedal are necessary at all. None of this takes away from the enjoyment I get from riding, however. I’ll just head to a bike shop to improve on a few things.

@@yonglingng5640 Oh, I know very well what a pain in the ass it is to feed the wires through there.... That's why I paid my bike technician to do it XD
Thank You!
your welcome
hi man, everytime I watch your HDR video getting blinking white and over expossure in my laptop. I don't know why :(
okay I have to change it then I might look to get a whole new rig or camera for this filming
This bike is now on sale for 2799€. Is it worth it?
damn thats a great deal the giants are nice bikes
Yes and Shimano strange decision to Discontinue mechanical group sets in the two top tier yay Shimano great decision not 👎
yea I know, maybe they make a nice 105 mechanical kit
That park tool scale should be placed in a proper mechanics stand for accurate measurements.
Yea I know. I’m not at my store so I don’t have access to a stand
@@GCPerformance18 Nice Video, I worked at a Giant dealer for a year and fell In love with the 21’ lineup
All this bike needs is proper tires and new Ultegra crank with a stages left arm.. Set!!
agreed, just a new crank on there would be nice
They already sell a model that is full ultegra with the dual power meter. I did change the tires though, the ones that come on there are slow rollers.
Thee best bike. in the market
Best bang for buck 😀
Its kind of heavy for a TCR with carbon wheels and ultegra.
It's the base TCR, the middle model is about 7.5kg
Giant is the best value
round or flat spokes on giant slr2 wheels ?
round spokes
@@GCPerformance18 thanks from 🇩🇰 like your vids 👍
I’m taking that, that’s a sweet ride
Damn, that crank is disappointing… but everything else looks great!
Totally agree. Clavicula would fit just fine.
Great Deal! I have a 2018 Giant TCX Advanced SX and other than the stock rims, I do not have a bad word to say about it.
I've ben running Ultra mechanical groups for over 20 years. No complaints!!!
P.S. Hit the gym buddy.
hahahah.... honestly as long as they are adjusted properly there is nothing wrong with them at all
im with you, the propel looks fugly!
lmao
Go for Giant tcr pro advanced SL better weight only 7kg
but is it alot more?
@@GCPerformance18 value for money, is like s works compatible quality
In the I’ve just got the advanced 0 disc with 2022 ultegra di2 for £3500! 🤯
holy shit very nice deal!!!
Only $3750, I should get a couple
hell yea brother

I considered that bike but no stock last year.

Saya punya Giant TCR advanced 1 Disc 👍👍 ., Salam dua pedal dari 🇮🇩
It's 2021 model lad!!
they carried it over for 2022 too I was told by the dealer
The parts that matter the most (weight wise) end up being the cheapest components
yea but I mean it is a easy fix and also the price makes it an affordable change
i mean giant would only had to pay more 75-100 bucks for the ultegra one, i wouldn't mind paying 3900-4000 for the better option out of the box
You need to lift!!!!!
The bike though- very competitive pricing. Frame kinda sucks though
come give me a spot on the next lift ;)
8.3kg = 18.298lbs
3750USD??!???
yes but this was also back in 2022
I never liked Giant. The bike looks nice but just don't like Giant.
Yea the propel is hideous.
super ugly I am glad I am not alone lol
I have the 2021 model and it has full ultegra groupset with power meter, absolutely amazing bike. Don't know why they've scrimped on the cranks etc 2022 🤦♂️.
@Cyclingpaths the price should reflect that then
@@loc9588 it does reflect that. The full ultegra model with dual pm is 5k
stop the bs, there nothing wrong with the giant bb86
just saying, just prefernce from a mechanic stand point, I jsut prefer threaded over pressfit in my preference form working on bikes
कौन कौन instagram से आया है😂
Disc brakes are dumb. The industry has lost its way.
damnnn, but I mean you could say that about gearing, like the excess of 12 speed shit or even 11 speed too the pros have won tours on 10 speed stuff rim brakes and all that shit it just makes it look cooler with the disc breaks and also allows for the hydralic cables to be manipulated easier to allow for crazy frame changes
talking bollox.... why does it need a threaded bottom bracket?🤦♂️
thats just my preference, form my experience of working on a ton of bikes, I have never had any issues with creaking from a threaded bb...... it does not need to be threaded it is just something I prefer to make it nicer in my opinion
"Don't like the frame. Obviously" UNSUBSCRIBE!
lmfao
