This is really great! Among the other compliments, just want to drop a mention for the animations. They add a sneaky level of explanation that may fly under the radar but add a lot to understanding what your saying. Keep it up!
Super helpful video! I can't wait to hear more about your setup. I am on the fence on whether this will be beneficial or not right now. Currently everyone can move their digital tokens through their own digital devices so a touchscreen would just give them another option. Your follow up video will probably help me better understand the benefits. Currently it may just be an unnecessary luxury for me which is funny because I thought having a digital map display was already luxurious 😂
@@LandofProva The pi 5 is an incredible platform now. The fact ot can drive dual 4k screens simultaneously is wild and with the 16gb refresh its going to be even wilder. Im going to embed a Bluetooth speaker setup in my game table, that will sync to my gm screen thats gonna have a pi in it
What about the minis that are used. Are there any restrictions to what the sensors can pick up in terms of material, size or number? I would love to see this in action a bit more to see how practical such a setup is... what happens for example if 2 minis are moving at the same time?
I am going to be going into these details in the next video. I wish it was a straight answer but it depends on the software being used. I can say that there is no concern for material.
great video, But you can use one computer for internet-based VTTs. Just open up two browsers and set one to private or anonymous mode fpr players screen. this is how I run my In person RPG games with a Laptop and Portable touchscreen 32" LCD
I tried to do a very similar thing but ran into the issue that a single unmoving touch would soon be ignored by the touch screen. This obviously would not work well with a game board. Have you run into this issue? If so, how did you solve it?

Thank you. I appreciate the comment about the animation. They did add a lot of complexity. :)
New to the channel, most excited to see how the minis come in with the software!
I'll be showing more about the minis in the next couple of videos.
You deserve more subs! Great vids, looking to upgrade our groups tv screen game table to touch
Thank you so much! I am glad you are enjoying the videos.

Thank you. I hope my next video helps you navigate the pros and cons of the system. :)
I don't play any TTRPGs...this is just a really interesting hardware and software setup!
Thank you!
THANK YOU 🎉
Glad you like it!
The Pi 5 is getting a 16gb refresh this year turning it into a perfect player computer.
Wow. Now that is an interesting development. I wonder what that will impact in the future.

You’re absolutely correct. I have also done this when not using miniatures. When you add the touch screen miniatures it creates a big problem.
@@LandofProva YEah I play at local Game store, so Laptop, Touchscreen is already alot to bring each sunday. 8) so Digital tokens work well.
There are programs such as "mousemux" that let you yse multiple mice simultaneously

What software were you using? I have not run into this issue yet.
@LandofProva it was a function of the touch screen frame thing, the touches just went away after having a mini on it for a min
