Mustafa's mother failed him, she could've made her son a pillar and of great support to his brother Ahmed, prove that you didn't have to kill your brothers as they were a great asset to the dynasty (not just a backup for if the current sultan died or died without issue), he could've been made an advisor, governor or General; weed out any traitors that would come to him to dethrone Ahmed...so many possibilities, but it turned to complete chaos because of people's greed and ambition.
If her fear had been that they would kill Mustafa, then she should've been thankful, instead she plotted and ended up sacrificing her life, her daughter's, Osman's and his mother's, Mehmet's, etc. Because she proved that killing your siblings was indeed needed.

point of correction the rule of killing brothers even children existed before Suleiman - even Suleiman warned Mehmet of this happening if Mustafa became Sultan - Suleiman said his fathers ruled for the imperial order that this should happen - if its the only way to ensure peace - as even if the brothers were innocent people woild instigate or use them to threaten the Empire - this has been happening even at teh earliest times of Ottoman Empire (see Ethrugal or Osman)@@CynthiaJenkins790

Exactly dear ! Like he seriously removed the death sentence of his brother ... he can be a vazir or a governor but they are just like his mother is evil....
Ahmet proved and loved mustafa so much , mustafa can be a biger support to his brother but they were greedy .. mustafa was innocent though , i wonder what happend to ahmet if he could learn that after his death how his sons killed each other because it was his only advice to them to not kill each other but to become a strength togeather ...
      But noo ...
He was my favourite ever sultan he was kind . He is the only one who will be known as forever for the Blue mosque he created ... people who went thier rememberd him .... like even after years his name is everywhere because of great things he did ...

"First, God is ONE GOD who can divide himself up into THREE. On that we agree. But, I believe that those three can be called three "persons". On that we don't agree. It's clear to me that the reason you disagree is because YOU define the word "person" as only applying to one single individual. You can do that. Help yourself! Now, you begin by running to the dictionary to do so and make your point. Yet, you don't give the definition of the other word "TRIUNE" in the same dictionary, which states... "TRI'UNE, adjective [Latin tres and unus.] Three in one; an epithet applied to God, to express the unity of the Godhead IN A TRINITY OF PERSONS." Even the DICTIONARY ITSELF says that God (THE GODHEAD) can be a "trinity" of PERSONS (plural). He can be ONE UNION and still can exist in three separate persons! Will you accept THAT dictionary definition? If not, then you can't try to prove your point from the first definition you gave. For you'd be denying another dictionary definition on this very subject, and that, then, would make your argument null and void!!! If you are going to use the dictionary to prove something, you have to use ALL the pertaining definitions to this subject. Will you do that, or IGNORE it? Second, we are made up of three, but yet we are one. You agree on that point. But, we can also have our three parts divided. For example, When I die, my soul goes to heaven. And, someone seeing me there for the first time could say: "Who's that PERSON?" While at the same time here on earth, someone looks in my casket and asks: "Who's that person?" Am I now two completely different Human Beings? Two Robert Breakers? Or am I the same Robert Breaker, but I'm just manifested as two different "Persons" in the eyes of others. One, in the Spirit world, and the other in the Physical World? No, I'm still ONE Robert Breaker. But, in that illustration, I would be manifesting in two different ways, and would be viewed as two separate "persons." My soul and spirit would be in heaven, while my body would be here on earth. How can you not get that??? The Dictionary shows it clearly! The Bible teaches it clearly! God is ONE GOD in three! And, those three are ONE! WE can call them PERSONS, as one is viewed as a FATHER, the other is viewed as a SON, and the other is viewed as the SPIRIT of both. That does NOT make three different gods! That's a ludicrous argument. Third, you quote: "God is no respecter of Persons." Clearly that is speaking about HUMAN BEINGS in the context of slavery and is not referring to God Himself and Him in three persons. You are TWISTING THAT VERSE OUT OF CONTEXT! That can NEVER lead to anything good! So, I suggest you stop following the heretical man you follow and get back into the BIBLE. Otherwise, you're going in a direction that I cannot follow! For you are departing from the SCRIPTURES and what they teach, as well as the DICTIONARY, and as well as what the TRUE CHURCH (not Catholicism) has believed for almost 2000 years. God is ONE GOD. He consists of three PARTS. God made man (Adam) in his image, and we also consist of three parts. We are TRI-PART beings, as is God. But, it's NOT WRONG to say that God can manifest in three separate "persons" and still be ONE GOD. I proved that from the BIBLE, from the DICTIONARY of the English Language, and from History. You can decide to deny ALL THREE if you like. But, I can't go along that path with you! I will be praying for you, though, that God will OPEN YOUR EYES to the truth! Sincerely, Robert Breaker " - He helps a lot to start to understanding the bible, but unless one can agree with him, one must read the whole bible themselves.

Not only did Safiye Sultana present her portrait to the emperor, (royal count: 1) but, the emperor especially asked for her (royal count: 2). The Ottomans came to take her (royal count: 3) And when she escaped, Alexander saved her. Which (spoiler alert) is the son of Safiye Sultana aka the current emperor, Ahmet's uncle. In the first MF series, the bodyguards (in red) of Suleiman have no active role on screen except for just standing by his side, and then following him when he walks. In here, one (Dervis/Darvis pasha) at least has a prominent role.

Nothing glorious about Suleiman. He feel for every one of Hurrem's evil tricks, including murdering Mustafa. He was a pathetic and weak-minded despot.

How Anastasia even managed to fell in love with sultan Ahmed???!!! Even after how they kidnapped her and forced to stay.... Maybe hundreds of years ago, such behaviour was considered to be normal. Now whenever I watch this, it just feels unfathomable. She should have never fallen in love with sultan Ahmed to begin with.

I started this series in Spanish. The episodes are about 30 minutes. Lots of things are just lost. The translation is awful. I watched Sultan Suleyman completely in Spanish. The translation was amazing. They really used the language of that era. I was fascinated. This other one with Kosem, they tried to make the language more contemporary. In Spanish it lost the magic. I made it all the way to episode 37. When I saw the English version with 2:30 hrs I thought “this is the real deal” and it really is. I think is much better to watch with the original audio and English subtitles. I got hooked again!!! 😅

After completing all Magnificent century, I feel very awkward that Sultan Ahmed has not circumcised yet. Anyone recall how young Chihangir was done? He was barely 10 yrs old. Ahmed looks like he is in late teen 😂

Ahmad (in real life) was 13 when he ascended. The actor looks a bit older.
May be bcoz they wanted to keep the actor same, in its young to old character

I was wondering about the circumcision thing. I didn't realize, he was supposed to be only 13!
Although all the boys in MC Hurrem were circumcised much younger.

As bad as losing a sibling hurts, I certainly could not do it if I was the one who made the rules and ran the world. I will never understand that practice and how someone could slay 13 or 14 siblings. 😢. I guess maybe if you were raised as competition to one another….it’s just so sad to think about being born into lavish royalty and then beheaded at 3 or 4, or 20 years old. And the number of young men killed for this….
