Your videos are very informative. I add them in my lessons to give better understanding to my students about a particular topic, but their is one problem that your volume is very low. Please try to add a little louder volume so that things become more clear. Thank you.
Which sentence is correct? - Only 3 students can become a doctor. - Only 3 students can become doctors. - Only 3 caterpillar can become a butterfly. - Only 3 caterpillar can become butterflies. - Only 3 planks can become a boomerang. - Only 3 planks can become boomerangs. Must it be plural or singular? And i cant place a article before a word that is plural. Why is that?
Hi Zack, it's natural to use a second plural noun in your examples (and make sure your first nouns are plural too). The only time we wouldn't is if all three things were becoming one thing (e.g., It only takes three eggs to make this cake.) The correct sentences are: - Only three students can become doctors. - Only three caterpillars can become butterflies. - Only three planks can become boomerangs. You CAN use "the" before a specific plural noun, but you can never use "a" or "an" with a plural noun. Compare these sentences: - Caterpillars become butterflies. (general nouns) - The caterpillars in my garden became butterflies last week. (specific nouns) You can find more explanations and examples in our Articles video: ua-cam.com/video/RDkx4J__-QY/v-deo.html
