Don Smith!! Hello there! Remember N828AR , my new purchase from an owner in Texas that had been keeping it flying with duct tape and prayer? Your shop restored my 601B to safe condition and though I lived in Ft. Lauderdale at the time, I flew it to Dothan for everything but the lightest maintenance because I didn't want anyone else touching it but your crew. I owned it from 1990 to 1993. It is just awesome to see you in this piece.
Got to be a passenger in one, and it was awesome flight. Could not believe how quite and nimble qnd accurate it seemed to be . Some heavy banking, and rolls were preformed. Felt like i was going to toss my cookies. But damn cool to do. Was a few yrs later the owner passed away, i know his wife sold the 700 to a pilot from Oshkosh , WI . But thats all i know about it.
I love the striped shirt, blazer, orange corduroys, and the gold chain around the wrist. Screams, I have the money to fly this shit. Oh, and the expensive shoes too.

@@AerostarOwnersAssociation Okay Found it thanks a lot for that. I am looking for a pilot with experience to do a pre buy flight on a 1980 601P model. Can you shoot me any names or phone numbers? My email is thyagosc@hotmail.com Hopefully, I can find someone around June 24th of 2020 to make this happen. I put in a tentative offer in this airplane but have no experience flying it. Thank you!
Lol! Yes, here is mine - aerostar-owners.com/2017-01-03%2011.34.29-1.jpg Sorry the photo is not very good. And, you must admit this is a pretty nice panel! - aerostar-owners.com/IMG_3114.JPG
That is one sweet EFIS panel including the engine monitoring. I'm sure this only improves the joy you must have flying your baby. I've just flown the stock standard panel in a 601 but still enjoyed my time at the controls in this superb aircraft.
In the 1960's there was little thought given to logical switch location, and so you had then a wild plethora of cockpit designs. The assumption was that any pilot could fit right in and come up to speed with a little practice
@@williamrmcintosh4343 Most of it is actually not too bad. and the grouping of engine ignition and fuel controls left and right of the center radio stack was definitely modern and better suited to avoid handling of the wrong engine than other designs that had everything together below the left control yoke. The "cheap" avionics/autopilot master switches are probably this way because they were installed later. Avionics master switches were not a regular feature on late 60's/early 70's instrument panels as on many planes you'd simply switch individual radio units. Even if you'd been able to procure the same switches, there'd be no space next to the factory installed "switch bank" for extra functions and for things like the V/A meter selector, it's probably easier to place it next to the instrument it affects. I'd be more concerned with the twin-needle L/R engine instruments that make it less clear than side-by-side instruments which engine is affected.

I hope that my dream will come true one day to get my ppl and have the chance to fly/own one of these amazing planes.
Very nice video, impressive clear narration!
Thank you from Russia! Very useful video.
You are welcome!
A swift beauty!!!
That is the finest paint I have ever seen on an aerostar - where the hell do you clip the ground on that masterpiece haha
Man. The King Air is so simple in comparison.
I love the striped shirt, blazer, orange corduroys, and the gold chain around the wrist. Screams, I have the money to fly this shit. Oh, and the expensive shoes too.
They will still be around. You can start on your license now!
Where is the first video? Thanks

I love this plane don't stop making them or I won't get to fly them I'm 15 now
Production ended in 1984.
Don’t worry, you can find them gently used for the same or cheaper than most barons these days.
Fast. Very fast. Goes like hell on takeoff
Don’t worry P51, they will still be around when you are 50 lol. Really, no kidding.
Beautiful plane, but oh my, what an unfortunately ugly control panel. Ever see a glass cockpit version of one?

Those switches look cheap. Too many controlls. And its 300$ gs. Man its an expensive aircraft
The Polikarpov Po-2 is indeed way better, right? Can you tell us about your life as a troll? Is the pay good?
@@williamrmcintosh4343 Night witches thought that PO-2 is a great plane.
