thank you so much! without this video i would have never had the confidence to try and undust my fans by themselves, because i would be scared i would be breaking something. But seeing you go through all the steps made it incredibly easy to follow along!
You're awesome James, always have a positive attitude! glad you're still around, look forward to seeing some more integrated graphic videos! Your videos overall are extremely helpful. :)
I appreciate that!
@@BrueComputing help my laptop won't turn on
thank you so much for the video. It really helped me to disassemble my laptop👍
Good video, very clear. Just what I needed to replace the crippled fan.
Glad it helped!
Replace it with what if you don't mind me asking?
@@youn177 Most of these laptops require specific fans, I had experience with an older Acer Aspire 5 model. The fans can be ordered on AliExpress and are not that expensive. I had luck that there was a store in my country which had the fan I needed, I paid a bit more for it but the delivery took only a couple days.
Thank you very much this very was very straight to the point and very helpful
Just did my first fan cleaning, thanks without this i would never have the courage to open it up
Glad I could help
Loved your video 💙
Glad you liked it!!
Great Video!
*just commenting for algorithm, this guy deserves it!*
Legend!
James pc when he is about to repair it: Ah doctor is here to cure me
My pc when I'm about to repair it: pls dont kill me you psychopathic killer
Its not that hard - just make sure you take your time, are methodical and use decent quality tools.
thank you! this is very useful 😊
You're welcome 😊
Thank you. I used your video to clean a fan that is making screaming noise. The fan is much quieter now but it is still kind of noisy. I wonder if there is a better replacement fan for the Aspire 5?
Thank you very much, with the amount of dust I found in there... I think my laptop will be happy
Glad I could help
i will try this soon
Hello, i have a question, my fan dont stick with the heatsink like u showed yours. Is mine defect? Since it has struggle with rotating and must be spin manually before it can run smoothly
i just cleaned the fan a few days ago but this black tape which holds the fan cable (in your video at 2:44) is not so sticky anymore and is doing noises when the fan is on. Do you know which tape this is to replace it?
i have this laptop the acer aspire 5 and it gets so hot and the fan is always running the left side of the keyboard and back of the laptop get so hot it is untouchable for more than a couple seconds
nice one sir.. what is the spray you used in removing the heatsink thermal paste.. thank you
If i spill somre liquid in the keyboard, shall i take it apart to dry each part that might have gotten wet individually or shall i just let it dry?
Honestly, thank u a lot of
hello friend, a question, do you know if you can add a fan? or if there is a more powerful fan to connect it? that would be a great video and upgrade
Not that I know of
What was the thing that you used to clean the heatsink and chip before applying thermal paste
Hi, I tired the same but the PC doesn’t turn on anymore. The charging light doesn’t light up either. Do you have any idea of what can it be the cause?
there isn't any way to take apart the actual fan is there? i have been trying to get in there for a while.
i need help 😭
my acer aspire 5 laptop doesn't open but it has a blue light. one video said to clean the ram but I'm scared to misplace or ruin some part of my laptop. im not techy. anybody help pls. thank you.
Is this the one that come with MX350? if it is, where do you can find the GPU chip?
Mine started making a loud noise wondering if it’s just dust in the fan lol the fan still turns on just a loud noise
Quick question, There is only one fan in the laptop, the fan that you have replaced, right?
Also where can you find the fan itself? I cant seem to find any model number or part id for the fan.
Yes, just the one. If you search "a514-54 fan" on eBay you should be able to find them.
Izin nanya bang untuk melepas mur di area heatsink pake mur nomer berapa?udah nyoba susah banget karena mau dibersihkan posisi belum pernah diservis samsek....
Is that enough thermal paste amount?
Very clear very simple video, hello i wanna ask about the air flow of the heatsink fan, where the flow blow to ? is it to the under of the laptop, or to the top of the laptop near the screen ?
From memory, it blows through the heatsink and out the vents on the back edge by the screen.
@@BrueComputing thx you for the fast answer, so it blows to the top of the laptop right ?
@@socaramdhani8046my aspire 5 fan blows on in the screen
The heads on my fan screws are all chewed up, would you know what size they are, trying to replace them. Cheers
M2.5 i guess
Why you didn't bother to paste the second thermal contact on the CPU? Wasn't it some factory defect they forgot to apply paste on it?
The second chip on the package is the PCH (Platform Controller Hub, what you'd traditionally call the South Bridge), not the CPU.
It doesn't really need it, it isn't there initially by design. You can apply it if you want though.
Liquid metal thermal paste?
I dont have the repastimg things, can I just dust off the fan or smth
from where can I get a heat sink paste?
Not sure what country you are in, but most PC parts resellers should stock it.
@@BrueComputing thank you, and do u know like any good brand for it?
What about keyboard? How to clean
Is it possible to upgrade the laptop anyhow?
I have an upgrade guide here: ua-cam.com/video/8eb7MiAfFrg/v-deo.html
i hate those laptops with 'modern' cooling system that stupidly places exhaust vents under the screen. not only you will have hard time finding an effective external cooler for it, the laptop gets hot very fast
hello sir ,i had question why do we remove the battery????
Hello sir/ma'am, I asked my uncle about that once (he is a electrical technician). He said that power supply and battery should be removed from the gadget or appliances before fixing its main problem for safety purposes because of live wire due to the electricity stored in the battery. That's what he said. Sort of? That was a long time ago though.
@@mariannegarcines728 thank u for explaining👍🏻
Why didnt you clean the fan itself?
What would be happened if I didn't put Arctic sliver
Its gonna heat up real quick
Isn't the amount of thermal paste to less here...?
