    Your videos should be a must watch for new parents. Maci is a great sister to Max but a big part of it is that you make her feel special and both your kids special. She is going to do amazing things in this world and it is a better place because of her. The worst part of my childhood started with the sentence don't wake up your brother because I felt he drew all the attention. I don't know your religious beliefs but I believe God is smiling on Maci because she was and has been the right person for Max. I can tell how you handle it by the smiles in their UA-cam channel that they equally feel special and cared about. I am not around them like you are but it really seems like Max is in a place where he understands himself and is finding ways to work around it. Autism doesn't make things easier but it does come with unique strengths which you have expressed. Be proud you are giving both kids the best tools to be successful in life personal, emotional and relational. Max is as smart and capable as anyone in his school. He has learned to deal with the Autism and is more mentally strong than most who ignore their own mental health. Max there maybe things you can't do but there is so much more you can do that adults are still trying or haven't tried to learn yet. Maci I know this isn't on your mind yet but something worth mentioning on a college letter to get accepted. Learning how to be accepting to a disabled brother and how much you taught him growing up. Your character is top in your class.

      And no truer words have been spoken when it comes to mental health. After all these years, I have to do mental fitness maintenance every single day if I wanna stay in tiptop shape. It’s a lot of work. But it’s rewarding.

    Watched part 1 and now 2 because I enjoy your conversations. It’s lovely seeing such maturity as Maci speaks as I expect it isn’t always easy being the patient tolerant giving sister.
    Maybe a little scream now and then is needed, but you have better ideas!
    Breeding snakes... that made me laugh!

      She is the best! I will admit that a few days ago I heard them in the other room wrestling and Max was getting really upset. Jamie tried to break it up, but I stopped her. I said, "Maci has taken her licks all these years. Let her thrash on him for awhile." 😂😂😂

    I love that they wanted a project to do with each other so they started breeding snakes. You can tell this family is really close, it makes me so happy to watch how honestly they can talk to each other :’)

    Your talk brought something to mind that I've learned is always true in important relationships. When I was quite young, I thought that the people I REALLY cared about, that I was really close with did not need relationship management. I OBVIOUSLY loved them and they me because we felt love. What I've learned is love is not an emotion, it is a 'doing', it is a verb that means actively serving each other. The thing I've learned is that I have to be deliberate about planning the time together, etc. BECAUSE IT MATTERS! Love is not just something you feel about someone, it is truly an action verb.

    Such a great sister and daughter! It's been fun seeing her grow up. Going on Mexico Build's have been amazing. I love seeing her love for her parents, Max, family and others. You are an example of Christ's love.

    Another great video! I agree with you, that it's important to see the other family members too, so no one feels neglected. Breeding of names was a great project, and so is Maci's Etsy business, and your breakfasts together.

    How do you feel about some family vloggers who are exploiting their kids on UA-cam using them for content without their consent? I'm new to your channel so I'm just getting a feel for your motivation. Is your channel monetised? Thanks 👍🏻

    • @jcyoungquist
      @jcyoungquist  3 роки тому +7

      Thanks for reaching out. I'll be as honest and transparent as I can be. Everything we do, from the blog to the UA-cam channel, we get Max's permission before any of it goes live. I often cringe when I see other families post videos of the meltdowns or violent episodes. I also don't like when I see people on screen that I don't think were given the opportunity, or were even able, to have a say in the matter. That's not fair to them, and if they are ever able to understand in the future what happened, it would be tragic if they resented their family for posting content of them. This is why we include Max as much as appropriate, edit the videos, and let him watch them before they get published. And we will never even film the bad episodes, meltdowns, and outbursts. You'll never see them, because I don't believe in even recording them.
      When it comes to monetization, yes, the channel is monetized. After the bath video went viral last month, we had the opportunity to monetize the account, so we took it. We don't get much. To date, it's just a little ad revenue. I am writing a book (if I ever get around to finishing it). That too will get Max's permission. The proceeds are going indirectly to Max via investments in his future living space attached to our home, and also his future. We are successful business owners. We don't need the little ad revenue from UA-cam. So Max is really the beneficiary.
      Our primary mission is to create awareness and help other families through the process. We try to walk the fine of creating awareness without exploiting anyone. I feel we have done it well. Max loves the process. The entire family gets involved. And from the comments, we know we are blessing others. That's what matters to me.

      Whether you realize it or not, that could be impacting your daughter in a signicantly negative way. If possible, the best thing to do would be to get your son a caregiver and take the time to invest in something that interests your daughter. She shouldn’t be overlooked or left behind just because her brother requires so much of your attention. So please take that into consideration and don’t take it for granted how she might feel.

    • @Versuch_m_Fr_Ruch_macht_kluch

      @@ashdallis6701 yes your right, but the way to handle it is that my daughter goes shopping or something with his bestie (my mum). Because my son doesn't accept another person like me around him and something special is his nutrition with no sugar, no milk products, no grain and so on.... Nobody wants to do this in the correct way. Thanks for your time and your support!!! We can lern so much from each other, because we all humans with similar problems 😉!
