I wish that Dollywood still had their Mistletoe Junction there by the daredevil falls. I loved that place. I loved seeing the kids getting their pictures taken with all the Rudolph characters.
I love Silver Dollar City Park. The park is overwhelming with Christmas lights. They have so many nice gift shops with really nice Christmas decorations and other gifts. I don't think I could handle the ride you'll went on.
I thought because I've been to Dollywood that I've basically been to Silver Dollar City... I was wrong!! I love that they keep the focus on the reason we celebrate this holiday, and they keep it as a holyday. Absolutely beautiful. I tell people when they look at pictures I've taken all across this beautiful country that they're not seeing what I saw because you can't get the full impact from pictures. In real life, you'll get tears in your eyes as you're overwhelmed by what you see, and you'll praise God because it's what you feel deep inside is right and fitting. Looks like Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights found a new home in Silver Dollar City. It used to be a Disney World Hollywood Studios. I recognize the floating sleigh, floating angel, the rooftop Xmas tree and the carousel. Beautiful.

I grew up in southwest Missouri (Joplin) just about an hour south of Branson. Me and my family would literally go there to visit silver dollar city every summer, some of my best childhood memories tbh.
Your in my neck of the woods! My husband and grew up going to SDC throughout the years. Every festival is great but I think their Christmas one is the best💙🎄
Fun fact about the big Christmas tree in the square: I gave tours of Marvel cave around the turn of the century, & this time of year was slow for that particular attraction (people wanted to see lights, not stalactites). Instead of 60 people per tour on a ten minute between tour schedule, we'd have usually 2-10 people with tours running only every hour (made for NICE breaks for the guides; we could watch a whole movie in the breakroom between tours or go ride Wildfire a few times, etc). But I digress; The point of this post being that when you were actually on a tour with that few people...At the bottom of the Cathedral room (20 stories underground) you could STILL hear the bass from that dang tree!!!

Did you guys not get a chance to see the two large production shows? The lights are outstanding but the shows… Especially A Dicken’s Christmas Carol. It is performing for its 20th season not consecutively however because it did not perform in 2020. Elaborate Large Sets, a live band, special effects, and “snow” even falls on the audience at the end of the production. Broadway Material and definitely the best theme park production I’ve seen.
Wow I must say of all the times I’ve been to SDC I’ve never been able to see the Christmas at SDC. So glad you visited. I hope to one day get to Dollywood.
I'm a newer viewer of the channel, but I really enjoy both you and Dawn's travel vlogs. Both of you should travel up to Clifton Mills sometime in Clifton Ohio. They have a fantastic light display, although it does get crowded from time to time.
Wasnt Silver Dollar City in Pigeon Forge in the 70s? I seem to remember going there when I was married to my 1st husband. Was it where Dollywood is now or am I totally mistaken?
You should come to East Peoria Illinois they won the great light fight on ABC in 2021. This Sunday it will be featured again as a all star on the great Christmas light fight on ABC at 9pm central time. We just had the parade but all the floats are featured in the drive Thur display.
Hey do you think those lights came from MGM aka Hollywood studios Osborn lights? I remember that tree that looked like it's floating. Happy Thanksgiving
Free parking 🎉 I think Knoebel’s in PA has free parking too. We’ve always wanted to go to SDC. The Flooded Mine was so awesome!!! The park definitely had a lot of similarities to Dollywood.
