EASTERN EUROPEAN ADVENTURE: DISCOVERING BULGARIA & ROMANIA IN 1 WEEK

We go behind the former iron curtain and into the mysterious former Eastern Europe countries of Bulgaria and Romania. Find out why we were surprised and why they should be added to your travel list!
First up is the stoic capital of Bulgaria, Sofia where we dive into the cities former Communist history and visit the stunning monastery in Rila. We then travel north to Romania and after a quick visit to its capital Bucharest, we rent a car and drive deep into Transylvania and the Carpathian Mountains visiting the storybook town of Sibiu, the beautiful towns of Sighisoara and Brasov. We couldn't leave Romania without visiting two of its most famous castles, Peles and Bran aka Dracula's castle. Oh, and we also attempt to drive one of the most beautiful roads in the world, the Transfagarasan Highway. In both countries we eat local food including the amazing Papanasi. As it joins the EU, these amazing countries will be sure to move up on everyone’s Europe summer travel list!
