NWA is ruined! The culture has been lost. The lakes are trashed. The rivers are trashed. The streets are trashy. The levels of pretentiousness are off the scales! Sam Walton was a good man, and he wouldnt have wanted NWA to be what it has become. It's lost.
If you are considering moving to Northwest Arkansas please do not move here. Development is destroying everything they tell you to come here for. The development is only good for realtors and developers. Go somewhere else.
Yes. I thought comment was self explanatory. The infill of people moving here and the subsequent development to accommodate these people destroy's the very reason they move here. The cost of living has increased. I personally know a lady whose rent increased to the point she could no longer afford the home in which she lived. She had to rent a room instead of a dwelling. The cost of real estate has dramatically increased. Our infrastructure cannot keep up with the increasing population. Due to the increase in population taxes will be increase to provide infrastructure. Medical services have not kept up with the increase in population. I have three specialty Medical Doctors. When I have called the offices of these health care providers, and leave a message, I have yet to receive a return call. Two years of this. When I eventually go in for a follow up the reply is always "oh we are so busy, we just don't have the staff to respond". Not all local people have benefited from the growth. The people who continue to want infill are realtors, developers, politicians, and others who benefit financially. Working class people have been left behind, and their wages have not kept up with the cost of living. Crime has increased. Just talk to the police officers. Traffic congestion with no infrastructure to handle the increase. Water run off during heavy rain. Increase in development and there is no increase in infrastructure to handle the run off. We also have a governor who will take public tax money intended for public education and funnel it into private schools to subsidize the private education of the wealthy while destroying public education. I have witnessed this type of development before. A small group will benefit and working class locals will be left behind. Eventually working class people will not be able to live where they work or work where they live. The business owners will complain they can't get anyone to work for minimum wage or low wages, and they don't understand why. Walmart and Tyson foods hold powerful economic and political influence. If anyone from out of state is considering moving to NWA please go some where else. The local working class people don't want you here.

I live in Bentonville! At the square aka downtown there is some cool cars like Ferrari sf90’s and Audi q8 and a lot of porches and corvettes
