I watch and follow a lot of travel vloggers and I’ve watched every single video on your channel, and you are by far the best travel vlogger in every aspect! Your language skills, your humble nature, your respect and engagement with the locals and your knowledge of history and sharing information in your content while maintaining a natural demeanor and keeping the content interesting and entertaining is just unmatched! Thanks Tommy, keep it up!
I love the part that you said ..naondoka ... instead of nashuka from the BRT bus.. and people started making fun of you .. saying ... mpisheni anaondoka... 😂😂 but any ways I love your videos.. keep it up... man.. we want more videos...
Just came across your channel today, i really appreciate the perspective you give on how things you see are more than people notice, the insight to the history of places communicates a deeper curiosity to the mechanics, living in Canada most of my life it took sometime to adapt. But the biggest challenge for me was learning the language, and its actually far more complex, iv only known a few that excelled in university level swahili. I like how your vlog obsorbs experiences more, it would be nice to see you chat with people more about their perspective on things, you may not get a complex answer first hand but the more you chat with locals over weeks and see them more overtime they really thought about things deeper for the betterment of more experiences when they are called to think about their own perspective, compared to a joe rogan podcast where its fucused condensed info Tanzania is more wisdom like longitudinally and that feedback is important especially getting well known there is more about moral Honor than competitive Honor , lots of Tanzanians want more accessible ways of improving infrastructure why not get perspective on how they would like to see parts of the city improve on non political thing but lifestyle, as long as it does not cost money there lots of things to do in a Tanzanians perspective I saw your chat with the guy about remembering who you were. I understand how it can feel uncomfortable in your perspective to be singled out, he didnt know you but claimed he did, it would be useful for him to know the difference between know and recognize. The same way i simplify words, Tanzanians do the same with English. but that could have been a much more insightful conversation if you chatted about him with it a bit longer, sharing how and why you perceive things your way compared to how he intended it. Showing you care about swahili word selection, can help develop the language. It can teach the community so much more, Tanzania is a very word of mouth place if i could speak fluent swahili id want to help locals understand For example mzungu, iv always been told it is skin color as a kid, but i had a deep conversation with my mom about whether it is a racist term, we came to the compromise that it was not because it was more than just skin it also a reputation, also means person of class, or teacher, being black raised in canada iv been called mzungu as well, and it felt like i was being excluded from the culture. Without a more complex understanding of the history surrounding the word. If you made a swahili etimology channel it would go viral Tanzanians in the past have tended to focus on the money, but knowing how to do something and knowing its feasible, will bring major improvements and unity. In dar you will find amazing knowledgeable people, Magufuli focused on exposing the worst parts to build it better, because of his passing i think it would mean a lot to keep the torch lit on improvement. Tanzanians are very receptive right now on how to make things better, with less, breaking up perceived differences by educating them and yourself on why you experience Tanzania differently is something i think Tanzania needs, other than fixing congestion traffic and infrastructure maintenance, but i think understanding percetive differences to the best degree can help make it better especially when tourism opens up more.

09:50 Although you were in a Roman Catholic cathedral, you could have stated how Protestantism comes in as a close second to Catholicism, with Lutheranism being strong in Tanzania, in the guise of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (ELCT), and this is another example of former German colonial influence. The Moravians also established missions in German East Africa during the late 1890s.
