Winter months and rainy days, Beverly Hillbillies & Green Acres, both in B&W, while I was in jammies on the floor wrapped in a blanket!!!! Weekends only, of course! LOL :) (60's & early 70's)
Kelloggs of Battle Creek used to sponsor the Beverly Hillbillies for the first few years but then when they stopped and you would see Jethro having breakfast in the kitchen the Kelloggs label on the corn flakes box would be wiped out--just "Corn Flakes" could be seen
True. You just have to love the product placement in these old sitcoms. Like here in the closing credits. RJ Reynolds sponsored them at one point and there are actually commercials of Jed and Granny plugging Winston cigarettes! I love the one where Granny is carving herself a new corncob pipe and Jed convinces her to try a Winston cigarette claiming that Mr. Drysdale turned him onto them! LOL !
As much as I have always loved the Beverly Hillbillies, I can't believe I have never seen this episode before. Thanks so much for the wonderful share! What a delight!!!

Max was an outstanding actor and comedian. He was excellent as Jethreen. I could'nt stop laughing at him in the dress and the blonde wig playing the piano and acting all feminine and Jed coming in hugging her and saying how big she had gotten. I personally think Max was the funniest out of the four of them.
Every cast member was perfect for their roles!!! So much fun to watch!!! The junk on television for the last 30 years that is supposed to be comedy doesn't even come close!!!!
I know it’s politically and environmentally incorrect, but I just love the old fur coats. I know we know better now, but to them the Clampitts, they didn’t think of them as luxury items they thought of them as a way to stay warm. These are the most wonderful memories of my childhood, watching the Beverly hillbillies and Petticoat Junction.❤
And it's different if you have hunted the animal for food and used the hide/skin to make clothing. That is what the Clampetts would have done, nto bought it from a fancy boutique.
@jenniferwang3489 Don't fool yourself to think they didn't have their trophies hanging from the wall. How ignorant can you be. Not a thing wrong with wearing furs or appreciate our wild animals provided by our maker.
That was fun! All these years later I can still sing every word to the intro and outro (just found that out LOL). Didn't miss a one. I don't think I know a single theme to any show on the air today. Do any have them? So glad I grew up watching fun stuff like this!! Not everything needs to have backstories and teach lessons. Why isn't it enough to just laugh anymore? And heck, I remember watching All in the Family, laughing even more than this show, and TONS of lessons to learn. So that's not it either!!
After Pearl had packed the suitcase, she is shown leaving and carrying the object by its handle. That would have been the wrong way compared to how Pearl placed the food. On an episode of “Mama’s Family” Iola was cooking a big meal for the bunch. When she opened the oven door to get the hot rolls, Iola grabbed the hot (cold) pan with bare hands, forgetting the gloves. I love to spot these things.
The Billlies have been a part of my whole family's life since it first came out. We always got to watch that one. Although there weren't many channels on TV. Funny all the way around! Seen them all many times over, but I don't mind watching over again when it comes up on The U-Tube. Absolute Classic!
