Ollie is an amazing company. My doberman got put on beef free diet dye to kidney issues. I just received my monthly subscription when I got the news. I called Ollie up to get his next box switched up. They actually credited my account and had me donate to the shelter. They rushed over the box. Titus will skip a meal if he doesn't have his Ollie added to his kible.
As for the sleeping, his potty training days he was in his kennel, after that became successful he was allowed to sleep on floor, his bed or his blanket. He worked himself into the bad after I fell asleep several times. Now I let him sleep where he wants. Typically he starts out on the bed. Then depending on how I'm sleeping he will go into his kennel or his bed most nights. Letting him sleep where he is comfortable has helped with our bond and has not had any behavior issues. That is just our experience. I know other owners that have had issues with guarding their owners excessively. May be other factors I'm unaware of there.

@camarilloanthony great question. There is a "quiz" when you first go to sign up. They want you to wait for a certain age (I just don't remember) but you can get it all set up and they will have your starter box ready for that perfect transition time and provide excellent support and instructions.

    Humans are trainable.
I co-slept with my doberman when I was young. This had to end, as she became an unmovable bed hog. It's amazing how rigid the legs become when they don't want to move. I would often end up on a tiny sliver of the mattress, while she had almost the entire bed. She, and now every one of my dogs since has had their own - separate - bed.

I had a Doberdor (Dobe/Lab cross) adopted from the local shelter. She coslept with us for a while, never getting on the bed until she was invited. She slept at my feet and never moved all night. When she got older, we got a comfy bed for her and she slept in the bedroom with us. I miss her.

I co sleep with my dogs.
It helps my anxiety issues and ptsd nightmares.
My belgian malinois helps make sure I go to bed, too. She will nag me, guilt me, follow me around, make me feel bad until I finally cave and at least lay down to rest. So even if I can't sleep, I'm still able to allow myself to give my body rest.
And it varies. Occasionally, they sleep under the blankets or on top. They all have their own pillow now so no more fighting over pillows or me having to hide my pillow.
    I just got a cali king-size bed.
    They are bed hogs/cuddle whores.
I have a pit/rot/lab mix, a belgian malinois, and I can't wait until I have another European Doberman again.
I miss mine and my sons dog Hel. She was amazing.

In late 1990, my now husband and I travelled from our home in southeastern VA to eastern TN to pick up the 2nd doberman that was joining our family from the breeder we were buying her from. It was a quick turn and burn trip, and we spent the night with my parents who fortuitously lived not far from where the breeders facility located. Since we didn't have the normal puppy accoutrements (ie a crate) with us, we slept that night with the 4 month old puppy between us in the bed. Since that night, there has not been a night that our bed has not been shared by at least one and at times as many as 4 dobermans. I have a precious collection of photos my husband has taken of my pillow being shared by a happily sleeping dobiedog. We wouldn't have it any other way. Now at age 70 two dobies share our bed and my female boxer/husky/lab mix sleeps on her dog bed next to my side of the bed or on her auxiliary bed at the foot of the bed (she doesn't like to sleep on the bed except during thunderstorms). Except for an hour or so most nights that our female Dobie commandeers the auxiliary bed, that has a plush throw blankie on it, for a little suckie-time. I tried putting the blankie up on our bed for her, but no when she wants to do suckie she wants to do it on Maggie's bed.

I tried to listen to you, way back when you got Arlo and I got Jed in 2020. Ohh, I made the crate, bought a bed, etc.. Then when I picked him up, (pick of the 11 pup litter) from Unique Dobermans in Oregon, that first nite he slept in the crate. He didn't much like it. The second nite I thought it wouldn't hurt to snug him in my bed for just a few minutes. Which turned in to all nite, and he's never slept anywhere else since. Though he only snugs under the covers about an hour in the mornings, but the rest of the nite he sleeps in the crook behind my knees or actually on top of my legs on the bed. We like it.

Mine had been kennel trained by the 2 week training. However, I had a lab mix that was co-sleeping already and I felt like the puppy wouldn't feel like pack. Athena has her own pillow with a waterproof blanket that is 60" long. She knows when we're getting ready for bed that "I have to fix the blankie." She'll wait until I pat the blanket and then hops up.
    The down side is:
    1. I have up to 13 stuffed animal "pacis" on the floor and bed. She's like a toddler.
    2. I end up with tiny bruises on my arms, legs, belly, etc. when she tries to wake me up.
    3. I have the entire Pensacola Beach in my bed. She and her sister have "Pavlov paths" where the grass is gone. Also, there are multiple areas under trees where there is no grass, but it's cool under there. She sleeps on her blanket, but it inevitably slips down, and she ends up where the quilt has not covered the sheets. Sigh
    4. I quilt, and nearly every quilt background is white. But it's not all her fault, because she has an 80 lb. Black Lab sister, and two black cats that roam freely between my son and my bed. My husband works away.
Would I change anything? Nope. I love my bed buddies, especially my velcro marshmallow.

At the start of this year Freya decided she too should be a bed dog. (The Vizsla has been the bed dog since I got Freya from a rescue in July 2020.) Up to now she has periodic slept on the bed-usually when dealing with her storm anxiety. She is fine in her crate and will even appear to be asleep but clearly she is listening for my head to hit the pillow after which she rattles the crate door. I was used to having 2 large dogs in the bed prior to getting her so it isn’t a big deal. In fact, there were times in the past with my storm phobic Lab mix that I have 3 dogs on the bed during a thunderstorm. Freya sleeps on top of the covers. The Vizsla sleeps under them. On the plus side Freya will not permit me to hit the snooze alarm too many times. If I try she will come to the side of the bed and use that Doberman nose to remind me that the clock is ticking on time to leave for work but more importantly time for her breakfast. 😂

I sometimes let Sammy sleep with me. Usually he sleeps on the living room couch. It's funny how he lays down slowly on the couch or the floor, but when he gets on the bed, he just comes crashing down. Dropping his full weight right up against me. I have a queen sized bed and it's not big enough for the two of us because he curls up and that takes up too much space. I try to get more towards the center of the bed before he gets in but I always end up getting pushed right to the edge of the mattress. So if I don't really need a good night's sleep, I'll let him sleep on the bed as a treat.

Joe, it must be something in the name! My Sammy does the "Electric Elbow Drop from the 3rd turnbuckle" every night when we go to bed. It's how I can tell if he's annoyed with me about something. If I have been behaving properly, he just grazes my torso when flopping down. If I have been a bad dad, I get all 105 pounds on the center of my chest and a snoot in the face. It's a race to see who can claim the center of the bed...and at the end of the day, my knees are usually hanging over the edge...

Damian didnt start off in my bed. He transitioned to my bed when he was about two years old. He sleeps on the covers. He sheds so much lol so seeping under the covers with me I can’t bare it lol. My only issue with having him sleep in my bed is he eats the sheets or comforter. I wake up and see wholes in my bedding. So now if I hear him licking I immediately wake up and yell leave it. So yes my sleep is being affected. So the hair shedding and eating my bedding are my only cons. Pros is I love the safety, comfort and cuddles 🥰. Oh and I put him on Ollie!! per your videos when he was 2 he is now 3 years old. Do eating it for a year now and eating Ollie is great! He will not go back to Hills Science diet kibble. Ollie is amazing!
I know this response is long but I wanted to thank you 🙏🏾 for everything. I have been following you for over three years now. I watched your videos when I was deciding what dog to get sitting at home alone during Covid and the Doberman🥇 won.

I definitely co sleep with my Doberman, Lily!! She sleeps on top of the covers and right next to me and I love it and she really does too! I do think it may become a problem if a man were to share my life any time in the future because Lily is used to having me all to herself (except for my last living little dog, Mia) and I don't know what that will look like until it happens though. I have slept with my dogs throughout my life and I'm 60+ years old and I especially love sleeping with my Doberman because she's so affectionate and has to be within inches of me at all times and I actually love that about her and most Dobermans!! Sometimes she'll just stick her head under the covers cuz she wants to lean on my hand or arm. I know I can say this and all of you will agree, "Dobermans are the BEST breed ever"!! Their intelligence alone is mind blowing and affection is off the chart and I love that as well. I could go on and on but you all know 💜❤💜❤💜❤

Our dobie was polite enough to make himself scarce when the old lady and I were engaged in some 'jiggery-pokery' - so to speak.
The biggest downside - of which there seemed few - was when he dropped his guts now and then.

Mostly very cosy, sometimes like a chemical attack.

Mine is a service dog background and ipo positive. My Doberman sleeps on my bed or in the computer room with the pitbull in their own beds. I have 3 chihuahuas and a 30lb service dog german pincher that sleeps RIGHT UP ON ME UNDER THE BLANKETS! The Doberman doesnt want in the blankets, but wants another blanket on top of him. He ends up wrapped around me with his head on my head all night long! And on top of my german pincher that lets out a tiny annoyed growl when he is first getting on her! I tell him to "get in your spot!" And he will back up and keep his kneck WAY BACK with his head up slightly at an angle. He waits for me to lay bk down and he sneaks RIGHT BK OVER TO CURL UP ON ME! All i have to do to get him off the bed is ask if he wants to go potty! He jumps off all by himself happily! He stays on my bed during the day/night almost everyday. When he is hungry he will stare right at me and get closer and closer to my face while im sitting watching tv. He gets close until he has his nose TOUCHING MY FACE AND STAYS THERE FOR AN HR SOMETIMES! Then he gives me 3 tiny licks with the tip of his tongue! If he has to go out, he wines high pitched very quietly while staring at the hallway!

Funny story... I had two Dobermans who slept in crates in our bedroom for years... When my husband was home every night, they were in the crate because he didn't sleep well with the two enormous dogs between us on the bed. BUT WHEN THE HUSBAND WAS OUT OF TOWN on business or out on hunting or fishing trips, I let the dogs sleep out of their crates because I felt safer as I am a deep sleeper and when the kids were young I counted on the dogs to wake me up something was amiss, inside or outside. Well, one night the husband came home around 1 or 2 in the morning having been bumped to an earlier flight. Husband knows I'm asleep and makes it all the way into the bedroom, and the dogs know it's dad and they're quiet... UNTIL dad tries to get into the bed and my male growled at him. Dad wasn't having any of that and put my boy in the crate, and left the girl out. Boy dog whined the rest of the night because he felt punished--and I heard none of this. Nope a word, not a sound, nada.
