Used to run to fishguard on a regular basis . There was a large car park by the school in Goodwick you can stop with toilets and a tesco express for a few bits . Great if you're early for the ferry .
I used to do the Fishguard > Rosslare crossing a lot (by car) but find doing Holyhead > Dublin an easier and nicer journey now. Irelands motorway network has improved a lot so it's quite easy to get across the country from Dublin these days.
4.65m is the maximum height limit in any of the tunnels here, the Dublin Port Tunnel, the Jack Lynch tunnel in Cork and the Shannon tunnel in Limerick. Higher trucks must take alternative routes.
brexit has killed the trucking trade from fishguard too rosslare . most if not all freight going via rosslare too europe now goes on the direct ferrys to spain , dunkirk , le harve , cherburg and zeebrugge

We normally always use that route on this occasion we went this way. Possibly the other driver insisted on that crossing, which I actually quite liked as it gives a more even split of the driving and you get to see more of Ireland.
Being 🏴 and know Fishguard so welcome too Wales my friend and im going through a Medical now and the DVLA in no Rush and as and Owner Driver with the Truck parked up us costing me 10 Grand a week now in my 5th week so lost 50 Grand so farm as its now working and i live in Swansea so youve past me my friend
@@patrickkeating7074 not quite true. UK was a net contributor to the EU, Ireland was a net recipient. Of course EU funds were available in all countries for specific projects. My remark about Ireland's roads were made from direct experience. I spent some time on the island. The roads in NI were infinitely better than the south.. Ireland was basically an agricultural country before major developments took place.
There are tolls on a lot main roads in Ireland M50 M8 M7 tolls around the bridge in Waterford. Tolls on the underpass near Dublin port. A return trip to Dublin airport would cost 12 Euro on new infrastructure and a return to Shannon airport would be 6 Euro on new infrastructure if you are around the middle of Ireland. So not true that EU paid for all Ireland new roads. And Ireland is new contributor to the EU.

That was a quick crossing for that ferry. Last time I did it, it took us 4.45hrs. It depends on the weather too

The roads in Ireland used to be atrocious. Then they got a load of money from the EU and bingo!
Yeah Ireland was bankrupt then they joined the EU and now they all Rich💰
