Just wanna say it the names for sprigattito and fuecoco are Spanish not Italian since the region is based on Spain and Portugal. Either way the characters look perfect
Hands down the best way to smooth a FDM print is with UV resin. Paint a thin coat on, hit with UV light, spray with IP alcohol and wipe off excess, and then repeat. It will be smooth and ready for priming. No sanding required.
@@SaitoGray it isnt toxic or expensive. I am talking 3D print resin. I've done it several times and you use very little. They have resin sitting around. Just takes very little in a cup, a paint brush and UV light. If you haven't tried it, don't knock it. It is WAY better than putty and sanding.
@@cheesdog 3D print resin IS hella toxic and can lead to pretty severe skin reaction, allergic reaction and damage on skin and lungs if you have a reaction or if you handle it inappropriately. Even cured, the dust can cause pretty bad damage to your lung. I've tied it that why i know it's messy, dangerous and you still need to sand if you want a perfect surface for a good coat of paint. Putty and spray putty is way more stable and cheap.

2:37 Dave: (Groan) I, a Pokemon professor, have been savaged by a plover, if only there was a gender indeterminate 10 year old who could save me! (Camera pans to Murray and Jen) That looks like you! Are you a boy or a girl? Either (Murray: Yes) it doesn't matter- just come here!
Spot putty and just 2 part filler helps with printer lines, slap a ton on and sand it out. That and just a repeated time of filler primer, dry, sand, filler primer, dry, sand, normal primer, fill the missed areas with putty or even super glue and baby powder, dry, sand, and prime again.
I ABOSOLUTLY LOVED watching the TEAM sculpt!!! I really enjoy it when they modify minis, but this is completely different! SO COOL!!! Please, do some more sculpting...
artistic advice/suggestion: next time you should make the environment first then sculpt the character that way you can fit the sculpted feet too whatever they are standing on in the environment, so when you bake it it'll look more real and you won't have those gaps under the feet when placed. This is mostly because of Quacksley, the foliage in the others covered any gaps that might have existed under the feet. Otherwise great job! I LOVED the waterfall creation process, it was so smart. I haven't seen anyone else do it that way.
I've also seen this done the other way, where the base is made out of either foam or clay and an indent/impression is made in the terrain for the sculpture to fit in. Wouldn't really work in this instance since Quacksley was placed on a twig, but just throwing it out there as an option for people who don't plan that far ahead lol. (It's me. I'm people.)
I've only known Jenn's Fuecoco for 25 minuets, but if anything happens to him, the world will turn upsidedown. The pokemon videos have been so fun here!! It's terrible for my impulse to buy more 3D prints of them but also a great inspiration! That waterfall looks insane and is a really cool take on it!
Little tip: if you've sculpted a part separately and are satisfied with it, bake it before putting it on the model. Just put some Bake and Bond in between to stick it together and you won't have to worry about deforming it. You can then also blend the surfaces together by adding a bit of clay to the seam and with some alcohol you can smooth the surface to remove your fingerprints etc. Really love what you've made here.
Baking individual parts was such a game changer for me. I first saw it being done on a North of the Border video and I remember immediately thinking, "Oh my god, you can do that? That makes so much sense, why have I never done this before." Before that I would always just sculpt a bunch of body detail and then ruin all that hard work with my fat fingers as I tried to add new layers like a big dummy.
I have worked with 3d printers for a few years I use a spray can of primer filler it is thick and easily sanded once dry, it also depends on how fine the print layers are.
I have tried to rehydrate crumbly clay with baby oil, but found this just broke it down more to liquid clay. I then found that vasaline can make dried out clay go back to workable with much less crumble.
someone already mentioned their names are actually Spanish based and not Italian, but I want to add that fuecoco is supposed to be pronounced "foo - eh - coco", the coco sounding like cocoa or coconut, hope that makes sense! (trying to describe Spanish pronunciations with English "rules" is hard 😭) they all look so awesome btw! I think my favorite is quaxly, definitely not biased towards the water type or anything...
I know in Autobody work, "Self etching primer" works great for filling in small gaps. Give it a coat, wet sand, and add as many as needed. Idk about the putty primer you have, never heard of it, might be similar stuff. It's worth a try, thought I'd throw that out there, lol. Get it... throw it out, like a pokeball? Lol I'll let myself out. 😂
It's an odd trick I learned for layer lines, but if you mix some acetone and the filament you're using for a print you can essentially turn the acetone mixture into a type of glue that when used on top will smooth out your pieces
Heads up, its not Italian based names but rather Spanish and Portuguese as the games are based on the Iberian peninsula (Spain and Portugal) otherwise an awesome video!❤
Hi I'm new. Jazza finally convinced me to watch a video. This pokemon collab you did with Jazza was absolutely epic. I hope to see more pokemon environments in the future. You guys did an amazing job.
God I love the little bits skits and banter lol it totally brings me in as if I'm really a part of the crew for a sec lol ty everyone for giving me the artistic family/world I absolutely need I my life lol And man, I am loving the Pokémon ball series! I can't Wait to see a whole wall fully lined with shelves FULL of incredibly crafted TTT Pokémon!! and please do an episode where everyone has to make someone else's personal character in a Pokéball ex: Jen making jazzas character in a ball, you doing Jen, and so on.....then another episode could be you do your own character or something like that? Idk just an idea I had lol Thanks for sharing your talents with us.
No personal experience, but I did watch a video from an avid 3D printer on YT who demonstrated spraying his prints with a light spritz of mineral oil-afterwards all the print lines were effectively gone and didn’t use any additional surface material, primer, or paint
Video 16 of commenting for Tabletop Time to make a Space Bear version of the Thunderwolf cavalry or Wolf lord on a Thunderwolf. But instead of Thunderwolves they would be Thunderbears and would use the Thunderwolf stats
If you need vibrant and bright mini paints then check out a brand called Humbrol. They make great paint and their bright colours are very vibrant and saturated.
I think I rather when you spend less time swapping between the different projects. Towards the start when you were all sculpting your pokemon, it felt like SO MUCH switching between. Letting one of the three get mostly complete (or maybe swapping when there's a time intensive bit, let the audience feel that time spent) towards the next of the three, only for the big reveal at the end would feel a lot more satisfying. The sculpts you guys have put out here are amazing though. Good job team!
a resin water tornado as stand to display the tabletop teams favorite water type Pokémon like at different levels of the tornado has areas to support their poke balls with their corresponding Pokémon.
Hiya great video guys! I love how they all turned out:D. Also do you have any tips on how to stop paint from going sticky and tacky when painting on polymer clay? I make minis sometimes and keep encountering this problem:/.
The best way to get rid of layer line is to calibrate the printer perfectly but that is very difficult so u should just keep sanding it down which can be a pain. I highly recommend going the 3d printing sub redit they will 100% help.
The best way to finish FDM is to calibrate your printer. Your layers lines are an awful mess, then spray putty and ligh sanding do wonder. I don't recommend all the other epoxy based alternative, it's a toxic mess to use and clean up and you'll still have to sand if you want a perfect surface anyway.
at the start of the video it mentioned good 3d printers for around 100-150 could anyone recommend any not necessarily big but ok quality for pokemon and warhammer figs

Dave's waterfall idea was amazing and well executed!
:o
I know! I’ve only seen the thumbnail too!
Oh those pokeballs look fire and the skit on Professor Dave was hilarious 😂
The free-standing water is such a nice touch! Truly an amazing piece for display

yep, and the x in quaxly isn't actually weird for us either, as there are several words that are constructed similarly
Hands down the best way to smooth a FDM print is with UV resin. Paint a thin coat on, hit with UV light, spray with IP alcohol and wipe off excess, and then repeat. It will be smooth and ready for priming. No sanding required.
Great idea for a big, toxic and expensive mess.
It work, but a spray putty and sandpaper do the same job with way less liquid resin everywhere.

Filler primer is what I use to smooth 3d prints, but you need to sand after a few coats, and then apply more.
And spot putty for any larger voids

Wood Filler and Putty primer, Use a wood filler to make them and sand them smooth, then putty primer and sand to your desired smoothness
Spot putty and bonds are king when cleaning up prints
Great Manbeast impression by Jazza
That was cute. Now I want to try doing that!
i hope to see you there on the friday, hopefully i can bring my sister of battle cosplay on that day
should sand between primer coats, also airbrushing acetone/bondo is suppose to help with the line but no idea on the second one.
Amazing job guys!
For filling print lines I use the left over bits of UV printing resin is sands brilliant

What kind of Cos Clay did you use? I see several different kinds on their website.
You all are amazing artists 🎨 ❤️
Can Dave make one for the other too as well? The others did a good job too but I really wanna see what he does with them!
2:51 “are you a boy or a girl?” “…” “Yes” is beyond relatable and I don’t know how relatable *that* part of it was meant to be XD

100% certain you're not Dave and are trying to scam me. Hard pass.
