Let's say if this was the predicament and king boo is still in there hypothetically speaking the only reason why they don't care is because king boo has them under his control and the ghost in the game don't like Luigi in general so. since he failed the ghost are reminding him what he lost and they are mocking his brother death

Luigi wasn't able to save his brother on time and all he can do is sit outside of the mansion in the rain and grieve. It really doesn't help that BF and GF's ghosts are also mocking his failure and we get a gist of Mario's trapped spirit calling out for his brother's help. Mario then comes and if you listen closely, you can hear actual lyrics. From what I can hear, Mario is saying “Luigi, where did you go? Luigi, lost and alone.” Then, the track comes to a stop. Luigi goes back to mourning over his dead brother. He also realizes that Boyfriend, Girlfriend, Mario, the ones insulting him while also cheering him on were all in his head. He thought they were real for a second, turns out, it was just him playing with his own emotions. I got all of this information from hearing “OOOAOOEO” You know a Friday Night Funkin’ Track is good when you hear actual words from “OOEAOO!” I didn't really mean to turn this into some sort of fan-fic, but that’s just how much emotion this track has.
