Gethsemane (I Only Want To Say) is considered by many to be one of the most difficult Rock Opera and Broadway songs to sing of all time.
From Jeff Fenholt to Steve Balsamo, to Ted Neeley, to Ian Gillan, and the list goes on...
Gabby and I thought it would be a perfect fit for her to throw her hat in the ring to sing one of the most difficult songs in Broadway's history.
One of the most interesting things about singing Gethsemane is that it's not just about hitting notes, it's actually about trying to portray the anguish, the distraught, the separation in the moments before going to the cross, that Andrew Lloyd Webber was trying to convey.

Ted Neely once told me that he had often thought about producing an all female version of the play to take on the road. Gabbi could play both Jesus and Judas. Her version of heaven on their minds is also incredible. Carl Anderson would have been proud (RIPj.

There's not many singers that give me chills listening to. Listening to her sing does it to me every time. Such an awesome voice!
There are some songs that are among the most difficult to sing well - on my list is JC Superstar Gethsemane and Aerosmith Dream On. Gabbi crushes it on Gethsemane! And beautiful to hear her powerful female vocals on this song, gives it a new feel vs. male distortion falsetto. Powerful and awesome Gabbi!
True! Three other very challenging songs to sing: by Steve Perry/ Journey: Patiently, Winds of March, Mother, Father.
This is one of the most difficult songs to sing. That high G has to be hit hard and, in my opinion, Ted Nealy set the standard. Gabbi Gun just nailed it too.

What an honour to listen to such an awesome lady. A bucket wish to be able to sit in the studio and hear this live. I show my 8 year old daughter these videos as she loves to sing so she can see and hear amazing singers and not just the house hold pop singers of today.

I've loved Gabbi's voice ever since she was in Czech and Slovakian Idol back in 2011. And this was just unbelievable. She's always been a great singer but this was another level.

Insanity! Absolute insanity! This is one of the hardest songs and she probably (not probably) did the best version of it that I've ever heard. This video came up on my feed, not sure why. I'm a huge fan of Ted Neeley, and got to see him do JCSS live, ages ago. I had no hope of this woman being able to not only sing this song well, but put forth the emotions of pain and doubt and suffering. I was wrong, she did it, and I was deeply moved.
