I lost my husband 4 years ago and sold our beloved Sea Ray 340. We got to take one trip through the canals and got one trip in to Georgian Bay before he passed. Watching this brings back my memories. I hope I can get back into boating again. We just weren't given enough time boat. Our beloved "Knotty Pair"
+Eileen Kelly Hi Eileen, I'm sorry to hear about your loss, but am happy that you've decided to share your story and that our own #boating travels have brought back some memories. All good, I hope... Feel free to take a look at some of my other videos from the lovely Trent Severn Waterway as well as the beautiful Georgian Bay. My ongoing purpose has always been to inspire others to go out and seek thier own adventures. Your story has added a poinent element that I had, until now, never considered. So again, thank you for that. All the best, Paul.
BoatsBeachesAndBars Thanks to you Actually your videos I will most likely order. I've decided to sell the last flip I am in since my loss and get back out there. Life is too short to have a stupid house and just work on it. I was much happier working on fibreglass with vroom vroom. Lol.
I always wanted to live on a House Boat and take a River Dredge (Gold Dredge) up and down several Rivers. Even do the Snow Bird thing on the Mississippi.
A great sit back sunday for sure, enjoyed this one over a morning cup of coffee, beautiful area on the trent, Did want to mention i recently bought your digital download, you did a fantastic presentation of capturing the wonderment of it, a video that can be enjoyed over and over, As always, awesome job, certainly put this trip on my bucket list
+Sandra Larmand Thanks Bernie. Glad you enjoyed it - and the digital download! I just livened up another Sit Back Sunday cruise, so be sure to have a look. . . Cheers, Paul.
Sorry the “local yokels” as you call them are well within their rights to pass where they did. If it’s not marked 9km, it’s free to go any speed you like. Of course within reason, and as their wake is negligible, that’s fine. It’s giant cruisers putting up 3ft wakes that the cottages dislike, so good on you for not doing so, cause some do. And, if it’s not marked... theoretically ok.
Yes, rules are put in place for those who are otherwise unable to make reasonable decisions. I agree that many 'big' cruisers are known to throw off big wakes, but in our 20++ years of cruising throughout the Trent Severn Waterway and Georgian Bay, we've seen way more 'little' boats/runabouts and even Sea Doo's causing unreasonable wakes. I think that since they are smaller, they are under the misconception that their vessels don't make a big wake. If every boater looked back more often (most don't), they would realize that they can probably do more to become responsible boaters. Sadly, these days, it's all about 'me' on the waterways. . . Happy Boating!!
My eye's thanks you for the boat ride. You should try to have a boat simulation game, made from all of your videos. I will buy the game from you. Some thing to think about.
Glad you enjoyed it, Keith. As for building games and apps, I barley have time to produce the videos that I do. If I had 'spare time', I'd be doing more videos first . . .
at 31:50 you called the jet skiers dipshits. why? Its not a no wake area is it? I see other boats creating wakes. I didnt see any issues. did I miss something?
+Nick 0 Hi Nick. Here in Ontario, boaters are responsible for the wake of their vessels, even if no speed limits or "no wake" zones are posted. If your boat's wake damages property or injures people, you have broken the law. What you can't see clearly is the severe rolling that happens on our boat when someone passes closely like that and is throwing off a wake - my hand kept the camera steady. Even on our 'big' and heavy boat, we DO feel the effects of inconsiderate boaters who pass with large wakes. This comment was only the accumulation of the season's worth of these kinds of actions. This summer (2015) was, by far, the worst in memory for that type of inconsiderate boaters! As I p[pilot a larger boat, I am VERY aware of the wake it can put off and do my very best to make sure it is not affecting other boaters, docks or folks in the water swimming. Sadly, we seem to be more of the exception than the rule . . . Cheers, Paul.
+BoatsBeachesAndBars Thanks for the clarification Paul. We boat on the Chesapeake so narrow waterways like this are not the norm. when jet skis are planning they put out less wake then when they are plowing through the water. so in a jet ski its either no wake or blasting by to keep the wake to a min. Love your vids too! I would love to take our boat through those passages. So peaceful and serene.
Nick 0 IT is a beautiful area we live and #boat in, for sure. And that's why I'm compelled to share it with everyone! Don't forget to check out boatsbeachesandbars.com/ for the free preview on my feature length presentation 'Cruising The Trent Severn Waterway' available on DVD/Blu-ray combo pack or as an instant digital download. There, that didn't sound too much like a commercial, did it ;-)

Saw our cottage on your video!
Cool. It's a beautiful area!
looks nice there and relaxing.
Can you tell us what the knot she uses at 5:45 to secure the bowlines to the rail?
+tprdfh51 Note sure what the knot is called, but I'll try and get a video up of how it's done.
+BoatsBeachesAndBars thanks...much appreciated - likes like a very practical and easy to use knot.
Also you can make VR 360 videos App
How long does it take?
Oh buddy, it's been a lifetime of work, stress, planing and determination, but we made it!!
@@BoatingWithBoogaboo right now I got a year or two to convince the wife to even get a boat
