That's because for decades pickups were considered tradesmen type vehicles, in the 1980 and even the 1990s pickups were usually either purchased by people who needed them for work in one way or another. Around the early 2000's though they started to become trendy to own which is why you have soccer moms with 90K crew cab 3/4 ton luxury trucks that they use to drive their kids to soccer practice in and maybe the grocery store once or twice a week. I get it, trucks are awesome, I've always loved trucks. But it was nicer when other people didn't, because when there's a lot of demand for something the price inevitably goes up.
I can definitely imagine how nice this truck is. I have a 22 new style Silverado 1500 Z71, and the 10 speed makes the 5.3 feel twice as powerful as it has in the past. The truck is also very quiet and the interior space is massive.
To think my 2003 Tahoe with the 5.3L was mated to a 4-Speed lol. I could imagine 6 extra gears made a difference, especially since the old 5.3L had 270 hp and the new one 350 hp.
@@Ryan-yl9kl. Definitely man. I traded in a 2018 with a 5.3 and a 6-speed, and my 22 with the 10 speed could absolutely smoke it. It's a great truck so far.
I wish you all did more of a deep dive on the baby 3.0 Duramax. Follow up video with GM techs and power impressions? And yes, it was great to see Todd again!
The problem that I have with this truck is reliability. Reliability of the Sierra/Silverado is terrible. I keep my vehicles for at least 10 years and right now there isn't one that I would buy. I don't trust the long-term reliability of Ford, GM, or RAM. I trust Toyota, but as you pointed out, the new Tundra is a swing-and-a-miss.
I've got a 2011 F-150 5.0L that I bought new when I was 23, it was my first new vehicle. It's 11 years old this year and it's never left me stranded and runs/operates just as smoothly as the day I drove it off the lot. The only thing I've done to it in those 11 years is normal maintenance and put a new belt on the A/C compressor. This is my first new vehicle but third over all "all of which were Ford trucks" and they have all been great vehicles and when the time come's I will not hesitate to buy another Ford pickup. Brand isn't as important as people like to pretend it is these days and yes I include the coveted Toyota in this argument. But generally speaking, take care of your equipment and it'll take care of you. Outside of lemons which all makes have at least 85% of cars I've seen people refer to as "junk" are only junk because they didn't take care of them, it blows my mind that someone will spend 30K to 80K on a new vehicle and then completely neglect taking care of it. For most of us, outside of purchasing a house, our cars/trucks are second most expensive thing we will ever buy, why wouldn't you treat it as such.
@@GhostOfRT300 I've owned 2 F150s and now a 2019 Trailboss. The Chevy is superior to my Last F150 in every way possible. The Chevy has far better steering feel and body roll control, EXTREMELY better brakes. The F150 had twin piston fronts it had horrendous brake drive , there was plenty of times I was worried the truck wouldn't stop. The rotors would warp after one heavy highway stop. In 4 years the rotors were replaced 5 times under warranty and once by my own money. By contrast the 4 Piston fixed caliper on the Chevy stops amazingly well for a 5300lbs truck. Savagegeese failed to mention that GM uses Aluminum on every component that has a hinge, doors, hood Tailgate. My Trailboss is actually 400lbs lighter than my F150 was too. I have higher payload , more towing. The 5.3L gets better fuel economy and nearly the same power as my 5.0L was. Drive any XLT F150 and Jump into an RST Chevy or Elevation GMC and any unbiased person right away says the GM trucks drive far better.
I'll see maybe 20-30 newer trucks a day for my job, and none of them rust quite like the GM products. Ram/Ford aren't perfect but you wouldn't believe the underside of a GM after just 1 or 2 NE winters
My dilemma is I run trucks for 10 years and 150k miles you're dead on in the 3 years and dump it folks will stick to brand. What I don't know on any of the current crop of trucks is which one I would be willing to put up with for a decade as a part time tow vehicle and parts hauler. I'm not sure any of them fit that description anymore.
Those Denali Ultimates are nice especially with that supercruise and supercruise + towing it would come in handy towing my horses around especially with that big 6.2L

really nice Truck !! not cheap, but yet you have to undercoat the hack out of it. the frame is exposed to the elements. GM Vehicles tend to get rusty very fast if not protected. thank you for the review.
@@andoletube I own a 21 Silvy 2500. They use a shitty wax coating that you can literally scrape off by dragging the skin of your fingertip across it. You don't even need to use your fingernail. You can't get it FluidFilmed or anything either. Because if you apply any coatings, they will strip all of the wax off the frame. Also, any time you lift up the vehicle, whatever spot of the frame you lifted from, will immediately start to rust when you drop the vehicle back down. I lifted up my truck with a jack, a block of wood, and then 2 folded up microfiber towels. When I dropped the vehicle back down, a HUGE chunk of wax stuck to the towel and basically stripped off.
Watched it the whole way through even though I have 0 interest in this vehicle. The one drawback you didn't mention is that at least right now is last time I was at the gas station diesel was nearly 2x the price of 87 at over $6/gallon.
It's beautiful inside and out. Probably the best looker out there for trucks. That said, I ain't touching it until they can show me that they can make this thing last. People buy boring under equipped Toyotas for a reason. (I would still stay away from Toyota's for a few years at the start of any production if the current taco is an indication of the problems that need to be worked out)
As awesome as it is, i had a 2023 trailboss duramax on order. When i finally had an answer on the exausth warranty, wich is an attrocious 2 years. I cancelled the diesel. I have a 2020canyon denali with the baby duramax. Love the truck but at 56 000km it needed a dpf replacement, wich costed 5500$ ON WARRANTY thank god. I'm not taking the chance with the next one. The inline 6 is awesome, i loved it and i loved the sound, but if they can't build a proper aftertreatment system with a real warranty, that's ripping people off. Ohh and don't start the stupid epa comments. In the 90's getting a diesel was a big expense vs the gas variant. Now, it's cheaper than that it has ever been, but those diesels are build cheaper than they have ever been. So this time i'm giving a try for the turbo 4 cylinder, wich i also drove. Diesel torque, gas acceleration, ok fuel economy. As for the sound, well, i don',t really care, my trucks are not an extension of my masculinity. If toyota would have done a real job with the tundra, and made a plugin hybrid, it'd be at the dealer kissing the my vendor's shoes.
I would wait until its on the road for a year or more before taking the plunge. Check south main's auto repairs and check out the serious quality issues (electrical and frame rust) on a 2019 truck. Its seems like all new vehicles are becomming like those disposable bic lighters, lease then dump.
$50K- $60K tops. At the end of the day, its a 1/2 ton friggen truck. Yes, there's plenty of people out there that believe a truck is a Cowboy Cadillac, and an actual extension of their ego so I get it. However, what GM is doing is pricing the middle class buyer right out of the market. Personally, i've owned 2 Suburbans since 2004 ('99 & '04) and now a new one is $75-$80K and the 4 year old used ones are $50K. I can remember when a loaded 2004 Z71 crew cab 4X4 Silverado could be bought for $24G brand new. Bottom line, GM is purposefully driving the prices up for several reasons, like a frog in a pot of water slowly being turned up to boiling, and part of the reason is to save their company since they've accepted defeat in domestic new car sales. If I was trying to normalize near $100K prices for new trucks and full size SUVs to pay for massively disruptive EV platforms, this is exactly how i'd do it.
Yes! More of classic skits in the end please. We need a return of officer Tommy bubanya to review the US border patrol f150 raptor, or a used police ford exploder. 😉

You can still get the base truck for 40k
I LOVE that you guys don’t hype up vehicles. Tell it how it is!!
HORSEPOWER AND TOOORQUE!!!
you guys are my favorite car channel by far
My brother the father of my children would absolutely love one of these.
I wish you all did more of a deep dive on the baby 3.0 Duramax. Follow up video with GM techs and power impressions? And yes, it was great to see Todd again!
omfg, the Toddd bit at the end🤣. this is why i love you guys ☺🙌🏻🥰🥰
I have a ZR2 Silverado that's basically stock if you want to review it, hell of a truck love the lockers and the DSSV shocks are crazy smooth
The other day I saw one of these trucks filled with actual load,it seemed it was used as a working truck instead mall crawler,I was deeply shocked.
Crazy
My GMC is at HD every other week.
"take me to the nearest junkyard" loool
Jack trying not to laugh after commenting on the laser etched wood.
Tapout hat AND shirt? Damn, that dude's a real badass.
Nah he’s still a nancy boy. 😂
Loved the Todd clip at the end!
We're with you Todddd. Don't let those doctors get you down with their corn-holier than thou attitude!
Great to see Todd... now need special Turbouski appearances!!
@@paddyohenry6428 I hope not
I’ve been driving Denalis for years, very much looking forward to the 2024 HDS
Todd has that hunger in his eyes like all true Cornhole Champions.
The GMC Denali Ultimate is what the general foreman drives to the construction site.
Love the old school SG ending. 🔥🔥🔥
I'm still absolutely blown away that Mark thinks any F150 rides better. F150s generally ride like a forklift.
And there are plenty of viewers who actually believe these dudes don’t hype up certain vehicles. Money talks.
Can’t wait to get tailgated by these when I’m already doing 85 in a 70.
I call it battering ram mentality. I deal with it everyday, just to see them take the next exit after I move over.
No skid plates, stamped or rolled steel in the front A-arms. While the interior is nice, no doubt, it is still a GM product.
Those A-arms look like crap.
Thank you for the good laugh at the end... Keep them coming :)
Hey! I worked on the screen animations for this truck. Nice to see it in the wild
When I worked for GMC (TX) our sales manager said most of our buyers were older-females. 70%+//45years and up.
I missed the Todd outros. Glad to see him back!
Guys, could Todd please make a comeback? I really do miss him.
Todd obviously got some tough news form the Doc... he just needs our support right now while he comes to grip with his "new normal".
@@Hermanocleas wait whos todd?
@@MrIlovebmw86 Meant Scott, Todd can go to hell!
@@Hermanocleas is todd the funny guy who does random clips? I wish turbowski would come back. He is a really chill guy
@@MrIlovebmw86 Todd always looked like he wasn't into being in videos. Though I'm sure on the inside he was soaring with charisma.
“Take me to the nearest junkyard” at 1:02 🤣🤣🤣 IM DYING
Can't wait to see you two review a S650 Mustang. Great work as always!
For the man who just has to have it all. Probably trade this years model for the newest, because it has an extra 10 horsepower.
Right so a spoiled brat
Only true professionals have the Denali Mountains etched into the interior of their truck.
I'll see maybe 20-30 newer trucks a day for my job, and none of them rust quite like the GM products.
Ram/Ford aren't perfect but you wouldn't believe the underside of a GM after just 1 or 2 NE winters
Same shitty paint, same pinches and seams, just even thinner steel so it rusts even faster. Plenty of newer GMs popping rust around here.
What does the bed in these trucks get used for beside excess Traders Joes grocery bags
That Interior though.....
Those Denali Ultimates are nice especially with that supercruise and supercruise + towing it would come in handy towing my horses around especially with that big 6.2L
The mechanic/wonderful actor at the end is Scott Parakeet right? Seriously, he is so good! I always love seeing him in the videos. I would love to see another Q&A style video with him and someone else like you did a while ago with Turbowski (may he rest in grease- er peace).
And that’s why I always watch the end 😂
was that Toddd as the professional Cornholer? Need to bring Toddd back. one of your best characters!
Are those professional grade hdmi exhaust tips?
How about a review of the Silverado Z-71 with the 6.2…
This redesign looks a lot better than the previous model.
lmao that ending... truly touching
I’ll take this truck over any of the others!
Shame it doesn’t still have the column shifter. That’s a deal breaker for me
"All trucks pretty much suck to drive..." - truth.
Remember when y'all use to complain about the Land Cruiser costing 85K USD? "i AiNt PaYiNg N0 85K fOr No ToYoTa durrrrrrrrr". GMC will now sell you the Sierra Denali EV at a starting price of 108K USD and you will love it!
really nice Truck !! not cheap, but yet you have to undercoat the hack out of it. the frame is exposed to the elements. GM Vehicles tend to get rusty very fast if not protected. thank you for the review.
That’s because they wax there frames no paint them like everyone else…
@@FishFind3000 Really? They wax them? That's bizarre. Also would make it hard to coat them with anything else.
Honestly 1000% thought we were about to see a track segment with this thing. But good truck!
Beautiful truck expensive but beautiful
The final minute!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Watched it the whole way through even though I have 0 interest in this vehicle. The one drawback you didn't mention is that at least right now is last time I was at the gas station diesel was nearly 2x the price of 87 at over $6/gallon.
Alas, I can’t qualify for professional use, but would love that engine in a YukonXL. Can’t afford that either.
So glad I stayed past the outro 😂
My 3.0 diesel blew up at 9500 miles :(. Dealer bought it back after 3 months
100% !
So if 80k is too much, what should the price be?
60k
50 grand is the top price for any reasonable truck
55-60k
Great trucks to choose from. Reliability and durability is an important consideration that isn't factored into review.
Silverado with the 6.2 Z-71 review, please!!
Genuine TRUCK... Genuine TURBO Todd.... Luv it 😘😂 feel bad for him, must be an injury from the chainsaw.
Yes! More of classic skits in the end please. We need a return of officer Tommy bubanya to review the US border patrol f150 raptor, or a used police ford exploder. 😉
That Tapout beanie and tank is gnarly btw lmao
I agree if you are not brand loyal, RAM, Ford, and GM's are all very nice now, and expensive. Credit to RAM for upping to interior level first.
Professional, premium, ultimate. Toddd.
Wonder how long that truck sat in a vacant storage lot during 3-4 seasons as it waits for semiconductor parts
This is the perfect truck for someone who will never use the bed as intended
Why does Ford and GM still use those tall radio antennas?
That interior upgrade is welcome. The fact that all the GM’s had that generic ass interior that while functioning was so samey and board, any kind of style and change (while remaining pragmatic) is nice
Can u pls review the frontier?
Are you sure that lift will safely hold that behemoth ?
That ending....hahaha good lord
