For anyone who’s wondering, UA-cam shorts don’t give you watch time that apply to the 4000 you need for monetization. Only long form content like live streams and videos give you watch time hours.
After listening to Myran, I’ve gained an additional 500 subscribers to my 1000. Don’t ignore the facts! He’s teaching principals straight from the Bible, and following the Bible is best way to figure out what you need to do every step of your life.

I don't think that's quite accurate. I'm looking at stats for one of my shorts right now in UA-cam Studio and it says this particular short has 20.9 watch time (hours). Wish I could upload a screenshot. Path to find this info: Go to Top Content > click on the short in question > Click on Engagement - and there it shows you watch time hours. For Shorts.....
@@KarenMarieBeyond sorry, I should’ve been more specific. I’m not saying the shorts don’t give you watch time, I’m saying the watch time you get from them doesn’t apply to the 4000 hours you need to get monetized. I’ve gotten over 7000 hours of watch time in shorts but only recently was I eligible for monetization because of my video and live stream hours.

Consistency is the key, people usually lose hope and leave the platform. If you stick to it and keep delivering value to your audience through your content, you'll grow for sure. Great one
Because the cost of time, energy and attention is much higher than the compensation. I’ve reached the threshold on multiple channels and you make hardly anything until you blow up. For most people it’s not worth the 20 bucks.

If it’s fun, like a hobby, then the money isn’t the main focus, it’s a byproduct. If you don’t like it, don’t do it just for the money.

For anyone needing this info for monetization: Your longer form videos do not need to be at least 8 minutes long to contribute to watch time hours. I was able to monetize one of my channels with video durations that were 1.5-5 minutes long for the majority. Only a handful have ever been over 8 minutes. When you do post videos over 8 minutes that allows to have midroll ads placed on your videos, which potentially increases the ad revenue.
Society as a whole is entirely too self absorbed and self driven. No one wants to help each-other anymore. Wow Myron delivered 🙌🏽

I think of it as as tycoon. The more videos and the time you spend on the video, the more money you got. The more money you get, the more money you spend on your videos to be better. If you keep maintaining this streak, I can gurantee you will be the next pewdiepie. It is simple. Avoiding distractions is key.

I literally started my UA-cam channel in 2006, and it started growing, but I was inconsistent in my posting over the years. I watched your video telling us why everyone needed a channel, and I rebooted my channel. As a result, my channel subscribers have increased by over 150 people in less than 2 months. Hi Myron. I am not even halfway into this video, but I wanted to pause it to write this comment. This is the best video I have seen about why anyone should do anything (not just about doing videos). It is wonderful to hear your message, because each one of us has our purpose. It is always a purpose to serve. We only need to discover it if we don't know what it is yet. But having the purpose, sharing it, serving others, and loving doing it all at the same time - this is the joy of life! I think that the way you are explaining this, you will lead many people to discovering their purpose and learning to serve others and love doing it all at the same time! God bless you!
Myron, you literally just posted this video because God moved through you to reach me and teach me about why I am failing in general in life, UA-cam, and life financial goals with objectives instead of goals. That key point of wisdom and knowledge of objectives instead of goals and being intentional was what I was lacking and desperately needed and thank both you and God for.

I really needed to hear this. I started on UA-cam in 2009. I have a channel with 40,000 subs and in 2021, I started this channel I have now for fun. I’ve always done UA-cam just for fun and I was generating millions in my company. Now, I want to start making more money from UA-cam and I’m just following the proven pathway. You all have the blueprint and I’m actually inspired to make $50,000 a month on my channel. We’ll see how it goes!
I think they fail because they forget that being a UA-camr is like owning a business. You should upload things people want to see and things people need in their life, just like businessman should offer product/service that people need. At the end of the day, the most difficult part is starting and growing your channel of course (I can recommend using a bit of Famester to help). And don't forget that hard work and persistence is key to success!!

Not everybody looks at it the same way and not only that competition is definitely an issue and the market is saturated too, there’s always a way around things but there’s a lot of different things people have to sort out if they wanna make a living in here

UA-cam algorithm is still a mystery. UA-cam keeps promoting older and bigger channels. It became more difficult for small channels to grow. plus d youtube Shorts is killing the regular videos. UA-cam wants us to prodcue more shorts videos but short videos just does not fit youtube type of content. More creators leaving YT and moving to Instagram and Tiktok.

I started a UA-cam channel in Dec 2020. I have nearly 9k subscribers but going forward I'll be more intentional about service.

For those who have monetization as an objective, though the requirements are 1000 subscribers and 4000 watch hours (in 12months) OR 10million shorts views. UA-cam recently added a lower threshold for monetization to 500 subscribers and 3000 watch hours OR 3million shorts views.
Hours gotten from shorts views do not count towards watch hours hence why UA-cam included the shorts views option. All the very best to everyone in 2024

Thank you for this video ❤❤ We are always trying to be a sponge while growing our platform organically. Never stop learning. One piece of advice that we cant stress enough is that the best day to start a UA-cam channel is today. I would like to cosign Myrons point that you do not need fancy equipment, lighting, microphones, etc. 99% of the videos on our channel are filmed on a smartphone....& we have the "fancy" cameras.
Don't let paralysis of analysis stop you or slow you down.
I love the discussion of goal vs. objective. That made total sense given where I am on my youtube journey. I am going to be more intentional about staying consistent regarding my objectives. My overall objective to have more folks in the aviation space so that air travel can be readily available and safe for the traveling public. Thanks for the video. This was very helpful.

I've just started to have intention with my youtube channels. I have small attainable goals that are not tied to a specific time frame. More or less, those small goals are motivators and indicators as to whether the new things I try are working out or if I need to adjust my approach. My biggest area of lacking is having a set schedule and also allowing overthinking some aspects of making videos keep me from starting on certain vid ideas. Im working to improve both of those areas 😊

I thank you for sharing realistic advice! 🙏I haven't yet started my channel but what I know is that I want to help people become healthy and happier by sharing the knowledge I have therefore, the intention of my videos fall into the category of educational videos. However, I'd like to incorporate the 'entertainment' flair because I'm aware of the struggles people face in regards to adjusting their habits. We all have a creative side, in some it is somehow dormant, but all humans respond to what is pleasing to the eye and if I can tap into their creative side I think it will make a huge difference!
