There is a polynomial solver built in anyway:
    Home > Calculate > Menu > 3 > 3 > >1

You are one of the few content providers who actually show how to program, save, and recall a function on the calculator instead of using software on a laptop screen. I can't criticize those who use a laptop, but It is far more helpful to see the actions performed on something that will be allowed into a classroom during a test. Even being 11 years old this video was totally applicable to my Nspire CAS CX ii. Great job and thank you.

Here is the input for the Law of Cosines, just in case you were wondering.
I started off the same way you did, setting the new program to a function, and setting an open bracket. In the box, you want to enter
    (cos^-1((a^2-b^2-c^2)/(-2*b*c))) and save as lawcos.
Now, when you input the length of the sides, the answer will be the angle opposite to the first side you entered.
I cannot find a video on this
and I think it would be beneficial to make one, but I suck at making videos.

While a few people below and saying there are built-in functions to solve a quadratic equation already I found this video to be helpful because now I know how to write a program for other formulas that are not pre-installed in this calculator. Thanks

if anyone gets an error like sto→:=..........., then you have to go to your program and make sure it is -4·a·c NOT -4·ac

Check to make sure you are in the "Radian Mode" IT is in the top right hand corner where the settings/battery meter is. You should be able to check under the "Document Settings"

How do you exit out of the program screen so that there is only the calculation page. I don't want to see the edit program pane after I've made the program .

You can also save this to your library and can access it via your button with a notebook and then press 6. As opposed to having to open the program file directly. You can use it in your quick calc.

how do i write a simple formula for calculating voltage... the equation is V=IR;V=voltage;I=Current;R=resistance.

  • @rimhighmedia
    @rimhighmedia  11 років тому

Technically yes, it should,... As far as I can see, there is no way to just have it open whenever you feel like it. I personally Own this Calculator and have found no way to make that work yet. Let us know if you do!

  • @patricknelson7965

You don't need to do this. Just type in "solve( [insert quadratic equation here]=0,(variable you're solving for))"

    • @Imgone251

+Patrick Nelson That is only for the CAS version of the calculator. The calculator he is using is just the CX.

Using the TI-Nspire, you use the touch pad to hover your cursor to the area you want to input things to and depress the center until you feel a small click.
