No requirement of opting permanent exemption... It is only for those students who are unable to clear with in 3 attempts from the exemption... After the expiry of 3 attempts from the exemption permanent exemption option will commence... You can take exemption and get min 40 with adequate aggreagate to clear the group

Only after the immediate 3 attempts are exhausted + you couldn't clear grp2 in those 3 attempts. So yours will be open only after May '25 attempt.
