Nice video - a good balance between train-focussed and scenery focussed shots. I also find it soothing to watch because of the way the trains seem to glide effortlessly along.
I couldn't finish it but what splendor & cinematography! =) I'm sure Kim's got a big ol' smile on his face in his grave if he saw this. Love the various angles of the system and how you added different details to the views. Awesome system! Yeah, those bridges are really unique; the various methods of cable-stay construction plus the different column designs.
I thought of Kim and Carol when I was there and also when I was editing the video. I know that the video is too long, but I cut out so many good shots already! I sat for 2 months with the video clips in the editing software before I could even bring myself to start editing seriously, so lazy and intimidated. I'll probably make a 5-6 minute version at some point.
Beautifully put together, just in time for my visit to Daegu this week. Good things take time! You captured it so well, including the music, which cuts off so mercilessly after a specific number of seconds… the slow-mo of the switch… watching trains negotiate curves! Excellent!
Thank you for the comment! I really enjoy making these videos. I have several other videos from Daegu! Are you going to vacation or work? I had people look at me strange when I told them I was there on vacation. It’s not a city that many Americans visit, unless they are working there.
Good video. It’s six years old but the vehicles and stations still looks brand new. Interesting at 8:17 the logo for the monorail shows a five car train, not the actual three cars.
Top speed of around 80km/h (50mph). I would like it if monorails had higher speeds. I want to see the slow/medium speed urban maglevs which have an operating speed of 160km/h (100mph).
I am going to release a video soon. Recently, they were doing a lot of work on the stations. Men were standing on the track in front of the open screen platform doors, working on the floor of the station. Interesting... they seemed to be also working on the signaling system.

If you liked that, take a look at another, much shorter video I made! ua-cam.com/video/XsET2ZvE5Qo/v-deo.htmlsi=rBYYWcCXX4wkoU9s

Another Monorail. No better way to start the day. Great editing!
Thank you! I wish I could have made it shorter. I think I’ll make another “best of” video.

Yes, but the stations can only accommodate a 3 car train. It looked like some clip art, not really a true representation. Thanks for the comment!
Wow.. I live in Daegu, so I've been to all of them! But what was more surprising was our apartment.
So cool ... almost unbelievable .
Very nice and interesting video!
Thanks for introducing my city!
¡BELLO, BELLO, BELLO, MUCHAS GRACIA !......

Thanks!
12:08 French TGV-K trains with Japanese Hitachi monorail train.. how interesting

The monorail is awesome 😊
I love monorails and also automated trains so this is exiting because it is both! I just wish it had a higher speed.
many thanks for the clip! well done!! I miss my hometown Daegu. from Malaysia
only one monorail line in the entire south korea
Sehr guter Film. Schön geschnitten, klasse Details vom der Umgebung.
Vídeos muito bom !
14:11 She is delivering yogurt by electric cart.
I wasn't looking that closely, but I thought these carts were for emptying sidewalk garbage and recycle bins. Oops! Thanks for your comment!
Nice shot @ 11:51
Thanks, I thought the reflection was really cool!
Rare to see monos in Korea
There's only one line?
Daegu has 3 lines, but other lines are subway. Only, 3rd line is like that, monorail train.
I'd like to use the video, but I have no way to contact you...

So it was built by Hitatchi- no wonder they look similar to Japanese monorails!
The fact is that only one set of train was made by Hitatchi.
@Kaiser Rules Oh, thats news to me. Thanks for letting me know!
True
