Well in my view, if you worship God with your true heart, he will be pleased by any kind of styles...therefore, i think that Hllsong uses this way to worship is a great thing because they know how to attract the heart of this young generation.
There are so many Christian who like to blame others' way of worship and always think the way they think. All i wan to say is, why not unite together and save our energy to rescue this generation instead of blaming each other....we are kind of running out of time actually.

I sing Y&F all the time at my amazing youth ministry and although we go crazy just for the fun of it, we are all passionate about God and we don't just sing the songs no matter what they say, we care about the lyrics and what we are declaring! And for those of you who say we then go and fall asleep in the preach, I can tell you now, that is so wrong! Our young people go crazy for our preachers and almost every single one will be making notes, shouting amen and encouraging the speaker! This music is a way for young people to enjoy worship again, have fun whilst they do it, and at the end of the day, we are still declaring our love for Jesus Christ, just in new ways! I love how expressive and unique Y&F are because Christianity and worship doesn't need to be restricted to certain types of music and certain types or arts, it can be whatever it wants because if we love God as we do it, God loves it!

Lol, to all the judgmental comments. You are over analyzing the ENTIRE video, these kids are dancing to the name of JESUS. So what if they "head bang" shake their hair, have triangles (the trinity), flashing lights, confetti!! God did not create us out of a cookie cutter mold and say that we all have to worship the same, dress the same, pray the same, look the same etc. HE MADE US DIFFERENT on purpose so that we can witness and share his love with the unbelievers. So PLEASE get off your high horses and appreciate the fact that this is how they worship and if you don't like it you do not have to watch their videos. You do know God gave us free will!! This isn't "too party music" for worship. Since when does church have to be boring or slow. Every time I go to church, I'm moved by the music. It makes me happy, makes me think, makes me feel closer to God. Praising God is supposed to be uplifting, joyous, and awesome (this song IS)!!!!

Super surprised to see Christians bashing a music group who is so passionate about God. This is the young and free album which is geared toward the YOUTH. If you watch their "Young and Free; Our Story" video you can see the story behind this album. I find it so refreshing that this music is so different from the other millions of basic Christian songs that are out there. God did not call us to all sound the same. It's about using our unique gifts (no matter how different it sounds) to glorify our amazing God. I'm baffled at how critical we Christians can be. Instead of acting in love, we're just tearing them down. WOW. but I overall loved this song, the lyrics really helped me through a tough time, and in the end its all about the freedom we have in Christ Jesus and how we come ALIVE in him. We are dead to our flesh and alive in HIM. I think that's where the blonde girl comes in because in the beginning of the video you clearly see she looks lifeless and dead. Then throughout the video you see her come alive. (My personal opinion) God bless!

It's almost 10 years! Gosh, I feel old.
Got to play this song on guitar in my student worship band at Faith Promise Church in Knoxville TN. The students (including myself) really loved it, and it opens up a door to worship God more easily for students who don't know God very well.
I think it is awesome for young kids to jump around and have fun with other like minded Christians in a safe environment. It's not always about worshipping with music. Worship is way deeper then music. Sometimes it's great just to listen to awesome music with good lyrics and jump around! :) I can do both with this song. I can worship and I can just have a good time with good people. But as Christians.. we have to be careful not to become all about ourselves. On that note... This music is a big culture with Young People at the moment and it is an awesome battle tactic to reach the youth of this generation by making this kind of music. I myself am a huge fan of Trance and now I have Christian Trace!!! Good on you Hillsong! :)

I listen to this song at least once a day. Keeps me jumping and excited for God especially in the times where things are harder than usual. God is working and will only do more and more for us. Let's not forget that praise and worship.. though mutually centred on God - are mutually exclusive in styles.
Praise is an exuberant expression of one liberty and awe of a majestic God befitting of His glory. It's about how big and high you can go for Him.
Whereas worship is an expression of ones devotion and deep surrender unto a sovereign God who is Lord and King; One who's able. Its about how "low" you can go for Him.
For me, I would classify this as a praise song. I'm sure there are other songs for moments of worship.
It doesn't matter which style a person uses, if he/she responds in Faith, it pleases God. And regardless of genre, God is the creator of all music and are all meant to be used to serve Him ultimately.

Ah we sang this song at a youth camp I went to, seeing everyone jump for God was just amazing. Gave me tingles, it was the best feeling.

well, let their Lord judge them. I'm 41 and I don't belong to this generation. I love the music and the message is great. I remember when we started playing rock on 1992, when I became christian, and it was also a shock to many conservative christians that were used to oldies music. Now I see al these kids dancing to this and I just can't help but smile. I'd rather see my kids dancing and jumping with a whole bunch of believers than seeing them at a bar getting drunk or high.....the only thing that perhaps I don't like about this ministry is that sometimes they use old secular dance songs to entice kids to dance and they mix it with praise and worship songs. I just hope that one day they don't start ministering kids with Madonna's music, because that will be messed up...

I like this song. I like what they are doing. And yes you can argue all you want...but No one is judging the way you worship. Does not the bible also say to worship with trumpets, lyres, cymbals, drums etc... Everything that is loving to praise him? Now don't get it twisted, I'm not replacing worship like great songs like Oceans, You are for me, Break every chain, fire fall down, I will exalt by bethal.
Understand this, I don't know about your church. In my church though, our youth is so Awesome. They worship differently than the adults. The adults are more reserved and all. And that's great! There is nothing wrong with that! but the youth! They have such passion! These are kids who care about what they wear or how they look like! They have so much pressure to be cool. But to see a youth jumping for God, dancing in his presence not caring how others see him/her is something else. I'd take that vs an adult raising up their hands any day!
I like this song because it really shows how the youth expresses themselves. They are free to be who they are to God. They are free to express themselves. Not to conform to what we think a youth should look like. Jesus wasn't a conformist in his time according to some jews and Pharisees. This isn't the first concert with lights and jumping and painting and all that either that is christian. There are plenty of those including, chris tomlin, michael w smith, Jeremy Camp, News Boys, Jesus culture, casting crowns, mercy me, DAVID CROWDER, Gateway church, Natalie Grant, Elevation church, new life church...etc...the list goes on. They have their band with a loud drumset, delay pedals and distortion pedals with a lead electric guitar busting out solos while lights flash and people yell. Doesn't that sound like a rock concert too. If they are guilty of this, then so is every band out there that performs live.

Remember the story how king David was dancing literally half naked in the presence of God and his wife king Saul daughter despised him. If he did that in our Christian churches today he would be condemned and kicked out! but notice he is celebrating (outside) in the presence of God just like the guy who took his top off in this clip at there Youth camp. I would be very careful in criticizing him/Hillsong and jumping to conclusion. we don't know what's going on with him and the Lord.. Or else we might end up like Saul's daughter cursed! she despised God's anointed king David and for that she became barren and could not have any children.

last night I read the comments, and I see that there's so negative reaction. He/she see that there are youth in the video that drinking and like addicts. My answer is this: In music you can put allegory. In the Bible we can read that Hannah, mother of Samuel is like drunkard when she pray to God that she want a baby. And in like addict youth in the video- there's no bad in being addict when you are addicted to God and in addition when we worship God in all our hearts, we are flying in heaven. And God said through Paul in Corinthians: Whether you eat or drink do it for the glory of God. When you are judging you are like Pharisees who is in the cage of law. (Correct me if I'm grammatically incorrect.)
