When a Pastor feels the "need" to chastise ANY member of the congregation in front of the ENTIRE congregation, that Pastor needs to be pulled aside and have a talking to. I did a skit a few years ago at a church and a couple days before we performed it for the Pastor and he liked it and said-"do it just like that Sunday." So, we did! When we got off the stage he said-"well that's not exactly how the story goes in the Bible....." We were devastated. VERY unprofessional!! If you have an issue with something you address it to THAT individual, NOT in front of the ENTIRE congregation!! My wife and I left soon afterwards...I don't have time for narcissistic pastors!

Some of this reminds me of when I was a teen, in the church, on fire for God when I was scolded by our choir director in front of everyone for being off key. Several times, I left choir rehearsal in tears cause I couldn’t understand why she’d call me out in front of people instead of pulling me to the side or offering smaller rehearsals. People aren’t aware of the impact they have on folks when they scold them I’m public. Unfortunately, this is the first memory I have when I think that lady.
