I have never found a strat that I like and I’ve owed a lot of them. Came across the NF 3 a blue one with rosewood neck..love it . Then I saw an orange one with the maple neck and added that to my collection. For the price and quality they cant be beat .
I agree. I am a long time Strat player, but when I bought my first Strat in 1970, I’d been playing an SG and the single coils seemed way too thin. It took awhile to learn to get the most out of them and it’s understandable that some are only comfortable with humbuckers or P90s. The Narrowfields on the NF3 are great for getting the focus of a Strat while having the push of a humbucker. Thanks so much for watching.
What a great review. Whatever’s going on in life, a notification of a new video is always a lift to my day or week. This guitar looks very nice, and sounds great. I think I’d really like one of these, and frankly your video put this on my radar. I didn’t know about it, previously. The “Strat on Steroids” as you call it, sounds right up my alley. It seems like there’s some Fenderish tones, but also some that are firmly in the humbucker/mini-humbucker/Gibsonish territory and that’s just a great, versatile tonal place for me. Thanks so much for another great feature that makes me want to pick up a guitar and play, and check out this new PRS.
Hey Leonard, I really enjoy your reviews. Understand how life alters our priorities my friend. Look forward to your future vids as they arrive. Nice guitar, still retains a nice degree of stratiness.
Nice one Leonard as always! I got the NF3 a few weeks ago. Got the Metallic Orange because it reminded me of a Hot Rod Automobile style paint job. I'm really impressed by this guitar. The "Wide Thin" neck plays great and reminds me of the Pattern Thin and Pattern Regular and the pickups are very versatile and you can really hear the Difference when changing the position of the pickup. This might be the first Middle Pickup I've heard and played that actually is worth using in some situations. The NF3 and Vela fly under the radar as they can handle any Genre of music with the Narrowfield pickups. The NF3 and Vela could be the best bang for the Buck guitars in the PRS Lineup! 🍻
Sounds like a great guitar-- sure is a good looking one ;) Hope the "life situation" works out for the best! As a certain notable fella was fond of saying, "keep on pickin' and grinnin'!"
Thank you my friend. Difficulties, even massive ones, are part of the process. I just want to let everyone know I’m forging ahead, if somewhat more slowly at present. I appreciate my viewers.
One can't go wrong with this kind of fine craftman's ship and the price is correct for this nice sounding guitar... Well you make every guitar sound unique ! Thanks for sharing Leonard.
Nice Review and Demo Leonard!! I'd LOVE to see PRS make the Telecaster Version in an SE LEFT HANDED!!!! Please keep up the Great Work and Cheers from Salem, Oh!!
When PRS released this I said to myself, There's my next PRS SE. I've yet to lay my hands on one but I plan to rectify that. Great demo and I hope your life situation smooths out for you.
It looks like a pretty faithful creation of the original NF3. It sounds good! The sound reminds me of the G&L ASAT with the MFD pups. Different than traditional single-coil pups or P90, but good sounding. I hope everything works out in your favor. Until next time, cheers!
Tasty! Our PRS stockist here in HK always carries a lot of their models (incl. the super expensive John McLaughlin & 'Year of the Dragon' 24-08) so will check them out . . . probably would lean towards Rosewood but that's just me. Wishing you all the best, Leonard, hope things work out! Take it easy 🙂💪
Thank you so much my friend. Yes, from what I’ve seen, rosewood seems more plentiful. The maple just reminded me of the core NF3 I fell for all those years back. I doubt there’s a significant sonic difference so whichever look and feel you prefer is the right choice.
It does sound terrific, and certainly stands in its own right as a great sound. But to me a question is whether it’s the right second guitar for someone with humbuckers or P90s, who’s looking for that snap of a Tele or Strat? So sorry to hear about your present difficulties, and looking forward to many more videos, as quickly as is both workable and enjoyable for you!! All best wishes.
I think it’s a great choice. Traditional Fender style singles can be an adjustment if you’re used to the push you get from humbuckers or P90s. These give you the vibe, but hit the amp like the humbuckers they are.
Here’s my $0.02. I own a PRS Custom 24. I’ve owned a CE Maple Top in the hopes of getting a more Fender vibe. Unfortunately it didn’t work for me so I sold that guitar. I’ve always missed that guitar. When the PRS NF3 SE was announced I bought one immediately. White/maple. This guitar fulfills my lust for a single coil PRS. With a little tweaking of the eq pedal it easily matches my two Stratocasters. Great video.
Thanks so much my friend. Yes, it can absolutely get that vibe while still giving you the more powerful push of humbuckers. This could easily be a main stage guitar.
I am not really a Strat guy i never liked them, but I think I’ve found my Strat that Prs sounds incredible to my ears or is that just your playing I’m definitely gonna check one out, oh and I got my Eastman casino and love it , your fault!!😂 now I’m Strat hunting well PRS Strat with cool pickups, take care and stay well ✌️🧷🎸
If you’re just not a Strat guy but would like some of that vibe without sacrificing the “push” you get from humbuckers, this seems ideal. Thanks for watching.

Right on, Leonard! I have one and I’m enjoying it a bunch. Please keep on producing some the highest quality reviews on YT!
Thanks so much. I’m glad you’re enjoying yours and I really appreciate the kind words.

Thank you so much my friend. Yes, I appreciate a guitar that isn’t just another F or G clone and really brings something fresh.
@@leonardgriffieblues5845 You hit the nail on the head!

It does at that. Thanks so much.

Yes, I found all the pickup positions very useful. Thanks so much for watching.

And thank you.
I have the same one with rosewood. And it finally gave that amp some balls. Great video brother.
Thanks so much my friend.

Thank you my friend. I’d like to see that one as well.
Nice review of a nice guitar
Thanks so much. Glad you enjoyed it. It is a cool model that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.
That's some tasty playing this week Leonard
🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Well thank you my friend. I don’t think I mentioned it but I did virtually nothing to the setup with his one.
When PRS released this I said to myself, There's my next PRS SE. I've yet to lay my hands on one but I plan to rectify that. Great demo and I hope your life situation smooths out for you.
Thank you so much. Yes, this guitar makes a lot of sense and for me, stands out among the SE solid bodies.
That guitar sounds amazing! Nice playing as always.
Thank you my friend.
It sounds amazing and I can see that guitar being a solid addition
I agree. Thanks so much.
Nice demo! Definitely agree about the scale length.
Thanks so much.
Nice demo, and as always great playing !
Thanks so much. Appreciated.
Yeah, but everything sounds good when you play it! Nice video, well done! I enjoy your reviews Sir.
And I appreciate you following the channel.
