How many games do you think the Texans will win in 2024? 🤔
10
9
I would say 8-9 maybe, their schedule is brutal and one of the hardest.

8-10
Idk why but the “RIDICULOUS” in the thumbnail has me rolling 😂😂😂
If it was the Texans organization putting out all the hype, I would say you have a point. I'm sure everyone at the Texans offices knows how hard it is to win in the NFL, especially the players. It's just that the team did alot better than expected, the post season awards for CJ and Wil, the big trade, and finally the new uniform reveal all happened one after the other. This hardly ever happens.
This literally happens every year. There is always a surprise scrappy team who pops in the playoffs. Sometimes they become the Jaguars, sometimes they become the Rams.
@@blakeharris58not like this, don’t be ignorant now.
Correct. But if they have any weakness besides the run, it was this draft. Not "compared to their last drafts." Just on its own. I don't think there is a single player in it we can be sure would be a first year starter, & there may be none who start unless there's an injury. They simply got no players who look like they're now NFL-ready, or at least not for certain.
But Diggs? He's still got it. The *play-calling changed* in Buffalo & he got targeted less.

Dude there’s a difference between someone giving a team props and other people literally saying the Texans are going to win the Super Bowl
@@GekkcoExcept so many more people are trying to discount the texans, than compared to saying they are going to win the Superbowl. And being a contender is dramatically different than people saying they will win the Superbowl.
What major network or anyone has even said the Texans will win the Superbowl??? Meanwhile every other video and topic about the Texans coming out is just like this video.
@@wuzi7049that’s just wrong, the second the bills traded diggs to the Texans, there were graphics saying the next Brady manning will be stroud mahomes. Not saying it will happen because strouds rookie year was all time, but we’ve seen several qbs have 1 great season but never add another. Nick foles is a prime example
@@CoC_Lord and those media people were mostly saying how diggs was going to ruin their chemistry and undermine Stroud. Standard clickbait. But similarly to the people who are doubting Stroud's capabilities. The reason to not have those concerns, is because the of their actual core personalities. Demeco and casario made an effort to get specific types of personality traits that align with demeco's. And because of that both their work ethic, and willingness to learn and be flexible. Made it so that the guys who don't have that mentality can't last on their team. That is why will Anderson Jr said they aren't for everybody. When questioning the Texans people shouldn't be worried about the expectations, or if Stroud can actually be a good QB. It should be. Can they win at the line of scrimmage, stop running QBs, and is their second CB good enough, will they have better injury luck this season? Stuff like that.
@@wuzi7049 that is quite literally what was said in this video lmao. The nfl isn’t the nba, progress isn’t linear and it shouldn’t be shocking if the Texans stagnate or somehow finish the season worse than last year. Especially in a conference with seemingly a new elite qb every single year entering. People saying the Texans are Super Bowl contenders is why people are criticizing them. They’re still on paper a damn good team, but they still have a lot to prove before getting put as a real contender
i think a key point you forgot to mention is the texans last year had the record for the most amount of o-line injuries which dramatically reduced the effectiveness of the run game. with that being even just average, and with the addition of mixon, that will improve a lot. you also mention slowik leaving, but he isnt leaving this year so thats not really a consideration going into next year. every team around the texans got worse, while the texans got better, and also went through an injury bug. so its not like the only way is down

Agreed. It's a tougher schedule so going 11-6 or even 10-7 again would not be a sign of a lack of progress although I'm sure it will be spun that way. I'm just worried about Diggs honestly, I think he's started his decline. Luckily it's just one year but I think it would have been better to have kept the 2nd rd pick and maybe used it to move up into the 1st rd or use it on a WR in a deep WR draft.

As a Seahawks fan put your expectations reasonable because I thought the hawks was going to win 12 games and beat the niners but they got 9 wins :/ i clearly drank the kool aid from the media
Finally, a reasonable take that isn't "bruh, there is ZERO chance they're worse" or "lol, one-year wonder".
I think Stroud's stats look worse this year (slightly), but his actual level of play improves. Playing Georgia brought out his best in college, and I think we will end up seeing more of his weaknesses, but also more of him improving upon those weaknesses. The team's pretty young overall, so I think there will be a lot of bumps until they get used to playing Baltimore-level opponents, but they'll get there. I also think that loss brought some learning experiences for next playoffs, including not taking anything for granted this year.
Great point about how people always assume the best case scenario for every young player's development and production. This is also why every team thinks they won the draft the day after picks were made.

When you pointed out that the Texans only beat teams they should have beaten in the last half of last season, that's just hindsight speaking. I believe we are on the right path, but remember happened to the Giants after Daboll's first season. Let the hype 🚆train begin
saying the texans are better than the ravens is crazy
ravens have top 3 defense and a lethal offense with the reining mvp and it has only gotten better
No. We do this every year with the Cowboys and Bills. There is a reason for it. Every yesr those same teams have high expectations. Now its the Texans turn.
The reason I’m hyped on the Texans is because they were able to do what they did with a record amount of injuries to starters on the O-line and had the most injuries to starters in the NFL last year. They were on their last legs going up against the ravens. For reference the last team to have even close to the amount of injuries to the O-line as the Texans did was the 22/23 Rams who went 5-12 the season after winning the Super Bowl. They also had a huge amount of injuries to the starting CBs as well. So yeah there’s reason to be on the hype train for me unless you think they are always going to have that many injuries.
They aren't hyped enough. And that's a fact.
Wrong video bro you need to make a video about the bears hype train people think they are gonna make a playoff run bro🤦🏾
Fun Fact: C.J. Stroud didn’t score a single touchdown against Baltimore the 2 times they faced. And he has yet to meet Spags.
That’s not his fault though. That can’t run the football. Against the ravens defense you have to be able to threaten them with the run. He was able to take down the bengals browns and Steelers defense so he should be fine. Just get the run game going and he’ll cook.
CJ wasn’t bad in those games just not enough explosiveness in the offense especially in the playoff game
One other thing the Texans have to worry about: Road games for dome teams are pretty bad record wise, especially once you adjust for Drew Brees. If they're not getting the best record in the AFC, dome teams historically *suck* if under 50F. That's the Bills, Ravens, Bengals, Chiefs, Jets, Steelers, Browns in the playoffs.
Diggs will not act like this in Houston. If he does, the team will not allow it. He is not the superstar anymore and the team will rally around CJ and not let any players disrespect him
Considering the schedule. As a Texans fans I feel they’ve put themselves in the best position to succeed. And that’s all you can ask for in the 4th year of a rebuild.
We can't say this about a team blown out by the ravens until we see them win
Honestly once Watson came over they started to play nice and fans hyped up then his court issues and leaving and getting CJ to throw and oddly enough they are the same if not better since he’s been playing their.
No point in trying to argue you can have your opinion. Guess we’re just gonna have to prove you wrong brother 🤟

What football analysis is not hating he just being straight and to not get too hype as they can disappoint and he made great points from how hard the schedule will be, secondary being a big weakness can hamper them
@@DisxreetI mean it was a historically great Ravens defense. Literally the only triple crown defense in NFL history, that also shut down the Chiefs in the 2nd half.
And the Texans had no run game, half the O-line on IR, and their WR2 & WR3 out. The Texans literally had practice squad members in the game, I don’t know what you expect when they did the same thing to a fully loaded Chiefs offense.
Even a slightly mildly healthier team will see the Texans do better than last season. I don't think people realize they went into the season heavily injured and then each and every week was a shuffle of who was injured and who wasn't.
Demeco deserves a heck of a lot more credit than he gets for navigating that.

As you should be! There’s a difference between being excited for year 2 with CJ + Demeco and “we’re knocking off the Chiefs and we’re next up” lol
Best of luck this year
As a hopelessly hopeful Bears fan, I agree, the Texans hype train is out of control.
Diggs was just done with the cold 😂😂😂
I usually agree and highly respect your analysis, but I also think you forget the revolving offensive line the Texans had last season while learning Slowiks zone blocking scheme. You also didn't mention that Stroud missed three games to the concussion protocol. In the Ravens playoff game, not only was Tank Dell missing, but also Noah Brown, their second and fourth leading receivers against the top defense in the league. Brown seems to have been forgotten even though he had big plays in many of their wins. The depth behind them was already not deep. All teams have injuries, but where those injuries are in correlation to the opponents can make a difference in the outcome. I just think if you are going to mention how they fared against those teams last season, while mentioning the pieces they have added, the returning players that were out should have also factored into your analysis. Mike MacDonald also was effective in his defensive scheme against Stroud in college and this is an area where Stroud needs to grow.
Diggs is a poison everywhere he goes, wait till something doesn’t go his way he’ll start being a baby

This is the most excited I've ever been during an off-season. Let me have this one. Please.
The Texans are the favorites in the AFC South, but Indy will be better if Richardson can stay healthy. The Jags were the 1 seed until TLaw got injured.
They have a high ceiling, but talking about them as the Chiefs closest rivals rn is way too early.
I think the Texans will more than rise to the occasion. This team is just different with a special QB, special playmakers, and special coaches, brother.
Yes, settle down the irrational Texans hype. The Bears are going to win the next 12 Super Bowls.
Only thing that is important is Stroud. If he replicated his rookie season the team would be good no matter who they play or who is on Houston’s roster.
Everybody can have their opinions...at the end of the day.....we have to start the season 1st....and win games they are suppose (on paper) to win....and win the games people think they shouldnt win. We wait......and we see then and ONLY then hype them as they go through the season. No matter win or lose.....we have our franchise QB and for that alone im hyped....and refuse to slow that hypeness down! Its too many unkowns right now to predict how far will this current team go this season.
Cj plays 1 or 2 more games is rookie mvp unanimously
I’m a pats fan. Nick is a big reason for late superbowl in New England
Let’s just hope Diggs doesn’t cry stroud into a sophomore slump.
I don't think Diggs is even there to be the WR1. For a future second, if he's even a second or third threat with, say, 750 yards and 5TDs, that's a pretty realistic win. I think the most likely outcome is he spends most of the year drawing coverage away from the other guys, and he has around 4 or 5 games where they're so scared of Dell, Collins, and Schultz that it's like they forget about him.
Marshon Lattimore liked a post linking him to the Texans. Just saw it
Lmao. “A nickel” he barely played nickel at all at Georgia.
i know you’re tired of the hype train but you can’t possibly deny that the future is insanely bright right now
They for sure have a high potential. I don't think anyone's denying that. There's just too much talk in the extremes with the Texans. Either everyone forgets that progress is a zero-sum game in sports (and that the team that "should" win isn't always the one that does), or people overcorrect and start listing every reason why the Texans aren't that good, actually.
The truth is, they're more talented, but the schedule is tougher, teams have more film on them, and they're not going to be underestimated as much as they probably were last year. Anything can happen over those seventeen games.
It's overkill honestly. They already have two WRs that are at least as good at Diggs.
Thank you for this.
Fill my cup, I’ve been thinking the same thing!
No don’t slow down the hype. I have been a fan for a very long time and been waiting years for our team to get good so let us have our flowers while we can.
100%. It's like the Lions. Enjoy it and don't let others nitpick. If the current trajectory continues, I'd be surprised if the Texans don't make a couple of championship games at least in the next few years.

Yeah I've enjoyed watching this Texans team, but I will agree that they need to prove that last season wasn't just a one time thing. After how people refused to buy into the Eagles when they didn't have as good a season, I'm not penciling these guys in for greatness just yet either. Eagles in 2023 were arguably in a worse spot after the SB than they are now. Texans could easily have things go wrong and then we'll start questioning them again. If that happens, it's just evidence of how hard it is to stay good in the NFL.

Imagine going from Pre-Accusation Watson, to CJ Stroud. If they don't make a SB in the near future, it'll be a travesty.
Agreed. I could see them leapfrogging the Bills in the AFC if there's no sophomore slump from Stroud. With DeMeco Ryans as HC, you know that they'll try to keep being salty on D. I liked their free agency moves overall, but I don't see them shocking the world

@@Gmonayy189 That is absolutely true and fair to say, but in today's league, you HAVE to capitalize on QB's on their rookie deals. Things just get too dicey, and hitting on draft picks becomes mandatory after paying your franchise guy.

Whether it's the reoccurring turnover issue, minor inaccuracies on key downs, playcalling which has been meh at best or dysfunction on the field. & Herbert's injury issues, untimely injuries to his best weapons, and an incompetent coach who couldn't seem to get his side of the ball together led to this retool we're currently seeing in LA. Idk what their win total is but after seeing that schedule im betting the under. That’s a gauntlet. And you know there will be regression + injuries.
I would still bet better than 10 wins, but not by much. I favor them over Chicago, Minnesota, New England, and their whole division, but who knows? They probably win about seven of those games, given my track record at predicting, and then the rest is basically a coin flip. 11-6 sounds about right.
we had an insane amount of injuries last year so it would mainly be based on TO regression from stroud with declining weapons and a bad secondary

@@FootballAnalysis1 the hype train shall keep going full steam ahead!
Yeah the hype train on this team is overblown the Ravens destroyed them flat out made them look like they didn't belong with the big boys and they don't a WR on the down hill slope of his career won't make a difference
Talk about over hyped, Ravens are the conductor of the ultimate hype train that goes flying off the rails every year in the playoffs. Remember it was a three point game at halftime and I know you were worried. I can't wait to watch Houston beat the brakes off their ass.
@@chucksheppard5927 ......I am worried?🤣🤣🤣🤣 bruh I am a KC fan what do I have to worry about? Watching my team hoist another lombardi?
@@brobasticbroham446 The way you slobbered all over the Ravens who knew? Don't worry you're about to fall off that bandwagon Chief boy. I think Texans beat the brakes off whiny Mahomes and the Swift bitches.
If you want to go somewhere hope on the Bengals bandwagon. If you want to go nowhere then by all means stay on the Texans lol 😆
Come on man. Imagine what it’s like to be a Texans fan? Let these people be excited! They deserve it.
I want to like the Texans but I just can’t, knowing my ravens will be competing with them for years.
He’s just being realistic like I’m excited for the Texans but their schedule is going be a gauntlet since they r in 1st place and secondary not really good in the AFC is dangerous
